  1. The problem imo, is he doesn't see a problem. He blames it on the players when he himself could be doing something. If he could just teach these guys to properly wrap up, it would improve things in a major way. But he thinks the season is too physical and guys shouldn't be taught that in practice. Just improvement in that 1 area would make so much of a difference.
  2. I haven't seen Gillmore in a while. Did I miss an injury?
  3. Oh my god, a 3 and out. Maybe the first of the year!!!
  4. Doesn't seem like hitting a defenseless receiver is a penalty anymore. A couple years ago it was called multiple times a game
  5. The question is will we be able to get past the 50? That would at least be something...
  6. Tiring isn't it? Especially on 3rd and long... And they still convert
  7. Ugly. We are not a very good team right now. Undisciplined and slow. We really lack speed in all levels. Joe has been throwing off his back foot all year, not sure what the heck is going on in the seconday. When Melvin wasn't on the ground, he was getting flagged. I'm not sure why the players think they can get away with this stuff. We aren't from Boston or anything...
  8. "The sieve" seems appropriate.
  9. Agreed 100%.
  10. Boy, just fills you with confidence, don't it?
  11. I'm not one of those people saying he needs to blitz x amount of times, or play press every single play. I'm saying if we're in a game and teams are driving on us, we don't do anything to change what we're doing. He is pretty good at half time adjustments, but not in game adjustments play to play. And his ability to teach his guys to be better football players. He referenced how good we were in week 1, so it's obviously not the scheme. That's not what I saw when I watched that game. I saw a very old QB trying to run an offense he's not comfortable in who missed several wide open receivers. And a very poor o line which required very little pressure to get a pass rush. Peyton is not able to run kubes system because he can't play under center. He hasn't for about 5 years. Conversely Kubes running game can't operate out of shotgun. They figured this out in the KC game and they ended up looking like the old Broncos. It had very little to do with our defense.
  12. Right, but again every year we keep having the same problems. It's easy to say oh, well there were injuries. But the job of the coordinator is to call plays that put their players in the best position to succeed. If he's not doing that, and he's not working on the players weaknesses then what is the benefit of keeping him here?
  13. People say this a lot so after 4 years, he still can't find the right players? I just find that hard to believe. If the players aren't behind him then why is he still here? If the coach can't be changed then it has to be the players. I'm sorry but it's a lot easier to replace a coach than it is to replace all of the players on the entire defense. And it's not like we have terrible players. Maybe if the were taught the proper way to wrap up and tackle the defense would work better, right?
  14. Watching his press conference, it's really hard to think this guy is a good coach. He essentially says they don't spend much time on tackling because of the "physical nature of playing 20 games". Great plan, especially since we are a very poor tackling team. He then talks about how hard it is to tackle guys when they have a lot of space. He says it's a lot easier when your in close range to the ball carrier. So then WHY do we line up 10 yards off the receiver and then have the corners backpedal? Your giving the receiver more space to work with!?! The same problems exist for pees entire tenure here; Soft off coverage essentially giving receivers 5-7 yards per play, poor tackling, and poor communication in the secondary. And listening to him talk to the media, none of that will change because the guy doesn't see a problem with his scheme. The scheme is designed to basically let teams move the ball, then tighten up in the red zone and force a field goal. Its a terrible scheme and it's the reason the cheaters let him go.
  15. Ask Eli about being elite. He has 2 rings and the last name to go along with it, yet nobody would call him elite. Joe and Eli are actually very similar. Up and down regular seasons, but has the ability to turn in on in January and win SBs. In reality, who cares? Joe is Joe and is the best QB our franchise has ever had. What does it matter if the talking heads on TV think he's elite? He will never be Rodgers or Brees, but he's capable of beating both of them. That's all that really matters imo.
  16. Not validating the argument, but Lebeau was a head coach, and a terrible one at that. After he was fired, he went back it Pittsburg as the DC.
  17. People keep saying we played great in week 1... Did we really? Peyton has proved he can't play under center anymore and he can't throw on the run. (Both essential in Kubs system) When they won the game against KC, they went to the gun and threw out Kubs ZBS and started running power plays and draws out of the gun. Against us, Peyton had plenty of open receivers, he just couldn't get the ball to him. The pass rush was good, but the fundamental problems with Pees remains. Soft coverage that allows teams to ding and dunk down field, and poor tackling. Now, I'm not saying I would be a great DC or anything, but if my teams struggles with tackling, I'm working on it all TC every practice until my guys show they can do it. The guys system just doesn't work if the offense isn't putting up points, which we are not. We could spend high picks on the d every year, and we will have the same results because of the system. If he HAS to play 10 yards off, and the pass rush isn't getting to the QB, you have to drop the ends into the flat to at least challenge those 4 yard hitches. You can't just make it THAT easy.
  18. Wow... Just, wow. Speechless
  19. I'd be careful what you wish for with a new design. Just look at that horrible mess Louisville has done with Addidas. Things could be worse. I do like the idea of the purple sheen though, that could be cool.
  20. If we feel like we need a KR we will promote Ross from the PS. He was decent as a WR for the Loins, he could help to take the top off the defense and keep SSS from fielding punts. The question is who gets cut to make room for him? We might have to wait until LT is healthy and McGee would be waived.
  21. It's a situation where we will have an open roster spot after Suggs goes to IR. We don't have any pure pass rushers on the PS, so we sign one. It has little to do with confidence in Doom and Upshaw.
  22. Really?!? Must have missed that one.... Back to the drawing board I suppose.
  23. Oh, I know man, I know. Thinking more about it, we used to use Upshaw inside in sub packages too. He might not even be long or explosive enough. What about Dion Jordon from Miami. He seems to have fallen down the depth chart in Miami. He could be versatile enough to play DE in a 4-3 or OLB in the 3-4. Wonder if the fish would be willing to shop him...
  24. I doubt it. Canty and Jernagan would play inside in the 4-3. Neither would be able to generate a pass rush outside. It would be Upshaw and Doom at end. With ZS as really the only back up. Honestly the 4-3 wouldn't mask the loss of Suggs. We don't really have the personel to be deep enough to run it effectively. Moving McClelen outside and having Orr and Brown as the back ups inside is the only option with the players we have imo. If we were to get a guy like Freeney to generate a rush on passing downs would probably be our best bet. Upshaw and Doom just have to have career years.
  25. You can buy the patch separately. I had my wife put the "Art" patch on my Ray Lewis jersey. It looks sweet!! Here's one on eBay... http://m.ebay.com/itm/BALTIMORE-RAVENS-PATCH-NEW-20-SEASONS-JERSEY-PLAYERS-EMBLEM-NFL-SHIPPING-9-10-/111721339308?nav=SEARCH
