  1. I think we have till March 8 to reach a deal. If they felt they were close, they might have decided to not complicate things with a tag.... Hopefully....
  2. Exactly, there is no way we can replace 3 starters, and have them be better then what we had last year. I think the best option for us would be to keep Monroe and move KO to RT and replace the LG either through draft or FA. Some big guys can't play G without developing back problems. JO played LG his rookie year and complained about back problems, and was moved to LT and he was fine. This could be the case with KO.
  3. If KO goes to RT and Monroe and Oher walk, then the entire left side of the line needs to be replaced. And with questions at C, that would lead to HUGE problems for Joe. Wagner has shown nothing to make anyone think he could be a viable option to start. Even still, we would have absolutely no depth, and would have to use 3 of our picks on Oline. That's not a good option either. It's all contingent on keeping Monroe, it's that simple.
  4. You sound pretty crazy. Good, starting LTs don't get cut. There is nobody outside of Robinson that is better then Monroe in the draft, and he's going top 4 without a doubt. If we try to replace him in the draft, there will be a drastic fall in production. And people on here seem to fail to realize the most important aspect of this whole equation; if Monroe walks, Oher stays... Regardless. If you want Michael Oher to be our LT, then you should be happy. We will not let both starting Ts walk in the same offseason.
  5. No... This money will help us keep a couple of our own FAs. It's not like we have a ton of space. We will in no way have the money to go out sign a top tier FA, especially Decker who already said he's looking for a big pay day.
  6. If true, this is great news. With the amount of money the NFL as a business makes, the salary cap should be a lot higher. It's crazy that teams that draft well end up paying for it by not being able to re-sign their own talent. Hopefully this helps to take care of Monroe.
  7. Awesome!! Give us some much needed room. With all the turnover last offseason, it's good to see us keep somebody!! On to Monroe!!!
  8. The franchise tag gets put on before free agency begins so no other team can make an offer to him. That's kinda the point of it. The problem is it's the average salary of the top 3 LTs in the league for next year. It would be costly, but it would allow us to keep him off the market.
  9. I really can't see a situation where we don't re sign Monroe. We already gave up 2 picks for him and if we use our 1st rounder on another LT, that's 3 of our top 5 picks on 1 player. There's no way Ozzie would let that happen when we have the franchise tag. We will make room for it if we have to, but Monroe will defiantly be a Raven next year.
  10. Maybe he doesn't trust the banks. He obviously doesn't trust agents, so maybe he's extremely parinoid!!! Although if that was the case, why would you leave $50k in your car?!? The story is full of holes!!!!
  11. I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. Pitta is 28, Monroe is 26. Top level LTs are a lot harder to find than TEs. Like someone else said, Mathews and Robinson won't be there for us, so we won't be able to replace Monroe's production in the draft. Even worse, this could lead to us keep Oher out of necessity... That's a terrible thought. Tag him
  12. Well, we still have the franchise tag. The number would be huge, but at least we can keep him off the market. It's not ideal, but it makes no sense to trade 2 picks for the guy then let him walk without a fight. Brandon Albert is probably the best T on the market, so he may want to wait to see what he gets.
  13. Because another team would have to want to trade for him. I doubt many teams will be lining up for Ngata and his $16 million dollar cap number at this point in his career. Suggs at least has some value from the outside looking in. I doubt either gets traded though. Restructure is much more likely.
  14. I wouldn't want him anyway. He's a good oline coach, but a terrible playcaller and HC for that matter. I couldn't imagine Callahan would want to stay there with Lienahan hired.
  15. I agree, Pierce is an ideal back in Kubiac's offense. If he can just manage to stay healthy, he's in for a big year.
  16. FB, HB, TE, slot receiver. If his blocking gets better, I agree he is suited to this offense. The FB needs to be versatile.
  17. That's important because the role a TE takes in that ZBS. They might have felt Harmon wasn't the best guy to be teaching it.
  18. Harbs used the word "change" about 15 times!!! That is refreshing to hear!!!
  19. It all depends on Pitta. And Juice. He's actually a perfect fit for this new offense. But I would think we should defiantly take a TE at some point, preferably someone who can block.
  20. Loved what I saw and heard in that press conference. It really seems like they understand it's time to change. I really am excited to see what happens in the draft now because for once we might not be held back by the system.
  21. Wow, he's been here since the Heap days. I guess they want to go in a different direction. Hopefully Hostler is next to get the axe!!!
  22. That would be a little strange since Dennison has never worked with QBs before. But, as long as Hos isn't the guy, I'm pumped!!!!
  23. That's what Dennison is for. We usually only allow coaches that leave to take 1 member of our staff.
  24. Haha, YES!!!!!!
  25. Well, this would make it worth the long wait!!! This is kinda what I wanted all along. An offensive staff loaded with guys with play calling experience. If one leaves, there's another waiting to take the reigns!!! And no more Coryell!!!! Awesome!!!! Do we jeep Hos?!? I don't think we should!!!
