  1. Man, this story just keeps surprising me. It sucks that a guy with talent doesn't have the passion. At 24, I would think he will want to play again at some point, it just doesn't seem plausible that it would be with us. Good luck to him, I hope everything works out for him.
  2. Came across this Queens of the Stone Age show from 2002. It was right after the release of "Songs for the Deaf", probably my favorite album of the last 15 years. Dave Grohl plays drums on it and it is truly the greatest intersection of talent that I've ever seen. Josh Homme is a pure genius an Dave needs to go back to playing drums full time. He's just so ridiculously good!! Anyway check it out if you love good metal!!!! http://youtu.be/KeKCrEzJI84 Speaking of Dave Grohl, check out Sound City. Ever fan of music of the last 50 years should see it.
  3. Do you think he would be in line for a suspension since his last incident happened after he signed with us, but before he retired? I don't think I've ever seen a situation remotely like this, but I could see the commish saying he violated the personal conduct policy.
  4. Jamarcus Russell... Lol!!!!! Heyward-Bey was a real head scratcher too.... And failure.
  5. That sucks.... I guess we'd better start looking for a big, mid to late round thumper.
  6. Great news. If he's motivated and ready to resume his career, I'm all for it. We need a big MLB to help against the running game. Especially with the squeelers adding Blount. He is a really talented guy, can't wait for TC reports!!!!
  7. Just saw on NFL Insiders that the bengals signed SS D. Manning. Personally, I didn't really think he was a fit, and he's coming off a season ending injury. For the better I think.
  8. 2 words... Butt fumble
  9. To be fair, it's a WR screen. Gino was doing his job, which is to get to the outside to set up a downfield block. He can't go past the LOS until the receiver has the ball. Rice whiffed on the block that got Joe hit. He should have stepped up into the pocket and take on the defender.
  10. It's the exact same situation as Boldin. They wanted to extend him to lower his cap hit. Q said no way, and the Ravens dealt him. If they were unable to trade him, we would have cut him. There were the same concerns about how long Q would even play. The difference is the size of the contract. Haloti has a HUGE amount of guaranteed money, making it impossible for us to make a move with him this year. After this year we can get out of the contract for something in the ballpark of 7M as opposed to 14M this year. So next offseason he will get the same option Q got... Take less money or your no longer a Raven.
  11. Didn't they just sign Malcolm Jenkins the other day?
  12. I would think he would be out of our price range. And he's coming off a major injury. Id pass.
  13. Ahmen!!!!!!!
  14. That would be a terrible deal. We just traded Q last year because his cap hit was 500,000 more and he's younger. Why in the world would we pay a 35 year old WR 5.5? 2 years 6M at the absolute most.
  15. I don't know about that. If we sign Steve Smith, we have Jones, Smith, Smith, Marlon, and Mallette. If we do draft a WR, I doubt it would be high. He would be the 6th receiver on the depth chart. I would like to see us focus on our other needs, other then WR in FA.
  16. Byrd signed with New Orleans 6 years 56M. How did they afford that?!? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000333219/article/jairus-byrd-saints-agree-on-sixyear-56m-contract
  17. The article you provided says he's a FA, but I thought since he never actually played for us, and retired a few weeks after signing a 1 year deal, we would still own his rights. I don't recall ever seeing anything saying we released him. Not positive though.
  18. This is great news if Wilson is correct on his prediction. If it comes down to us and Oakland and the offers are similar, I like our chances. We still have a glimmer of hope!!
  19. He probably would be, but if we fail to solidify the oline in FA, we will have to take a T in round 1. I just hope it's not another Michael Oher type...
  20. Agreed, but I don't understand why they wouldn't at least use the transition tag to give us the option to match any offer. Now he can just go out and sign a deal day 1 of FA. It doesn't make any sense...
  21. Well using "facts" would also lead you to the conclusion that if we lose Monroe and go out and sign a FA T, we get no compensatory pick. So we do in fact lose 2 picks and make the team worse in the process.
  22. Good teams don't trade 2 picks on a guy (in the deepest draft in years) and let him walk on the hopes that they sign an average T away from a team with 65 million in cap space. If you think Veldheer is the key piece to fix all of our oline woes, then I don't know what to tell you other then your greatly mistaken...
  23. We don't have the ammo to move up far enough to get either of those guys. We would have to give up some picks next year too. Not our style.
  24. He would be a significant downgrade, doesn't fit the system, and would be nearly as much as Monroe. It would be a terrible move IMO.
