Oh yeah, and high motor. Gotta have a high motor now to play with the new Ravens.
Unless those guys are academic scholars that go to church 5 times a week, you can cross them off the list.
Well at least this will make the decision easy, cutting another chunk of salary free.
NONE of those guys are going to get you to a super bowl. They are exactly what I'm saying they are..............junk round role players. Bart Scott and Jarret Johnson. Not Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Peter Boulware, Todd Heap, Chris McAllister...............first round blue chip talent. Those guys win your super bowls, not junk rounders.
I'll take a team that hits on first rounders and 4th-6th rounders over a team that hits on 1st and 2nd rounders but whiffs on 4th - 6th. The latter is finishing in last place in the division.
I'll give you a good stat. Over the last 5 years, in the entire 4th round there have been only five players who have made even one pro bowl. FIVE out of what, 194 picks? Keep dreamin with Ozzie.
Biggest myth going. These "junk" round picks we seem to be obsessed with are totally useless to our team. Start hitting on 1st and 2nd rounders like we did for 20 years and screw the 4th 5th and 6th junk round picks who amount to nothing.
Here is some of the "junk" Ozzie has collected in those rounds that have been key contributors: Lewis, Dixon, Young, Juice, Wagner, McPhee, Tyrod Taylor, and Pitta. Jury is still out on guys like Judon and Zadarius Smith.
In fact, Ozzie & co seem to have done relatively better in the later rounds than they have in the 2nd and 3rd recently. Maybe they should just trade back for monster 4th round opportunities (half kidding)
You're kidding right?
Lewis, who is that....a lineman that played average for a handful of games this year?
Dixon is awesome but hasn't produced yet
Young is the man
Wagner is taking off
Mcphee had one year and is long gone
Z hasn't donr anything at all
And Most of us hope we cut Pitta
Hit on the 1rst and 2nds, and we're in afc championship game.............
WHIFF life Ozzie and CO has for Years, and we miss the playoffs 3 out of 4 years and our KICKER keeps us from being the 2nd or third pick in the draft. The whole FO is about 10 years behind. Harbaugh is embarassing for everything he brings to the ravens

This should all but guarantee 2 secondary draft selections within the first 3 rounds with 4 picks. No need to trade up or back to take advantage of deep secondary class and still have flexibility to grab a difference maker when the picking is good.
No we'll draft the best available player which will be a guard and tight end.

W&W might walk no matter what.
We have in house replacements whether they are as good or proven YET-Lewis and Pierce
Trade for Marshall now and get a bargain on his salary. Exact type of wr we need
Sign Trumaine Johnson, tall physical underated corner that gets multiple picks every year
Marshall and Johnson would fill 2 Massive needs beautifully.
Round 1, draft Solomon Thomas is he slips to us, Or go get the Raven born Jamal Adams!
Then select the Ohio State or LSU Center in round 2.
If we make those 4 moves, I don't care how the rest of the offseason unfolds. I believe we'll be playing NE in the AFC Championship game next year if we make those movesHaving said all that, if we don't sign a Legit corner in FA ( only a few out there), we have to pick one in round one. Or two
That's been the story for 4 years now. Ozzie absolutely refuses to give up those junk round picks (4th-6th rounds) to move up and get one. Corners go early and we're at 16. No way we'll get one there. We'll probably take another guard and tight end in the first two rounds.
I'll believe it when I see it. Ozzie's been way too infatuated with his junk 4th and 5th round picks instead of moving up a couple spots in the 1st and 2nd round to take the blue chip guys we need. We need two good corners, this hasn't changed in 3 or 4 years. With our new strategy of drafting only academic scholars who go to church 5 times a week, who knows what we'll get?
Aging, rotting roster filled with high-priced vets past their primes. No top shelf talent to speak of. Let's see if we can break the streak of 7 bad drafts.
What a blow to our defense. We have been cursed. Starting with the Ray Rice punch heard round the world, to the Laramy Tunsil mask video, Suggs injuries, losing Kubiak. It's been a downhill fall with no end in sight.
Steve, just shut up. Everything out of your mouth in the last week makes you look like an idiot. You're a great owner, keep it that way.
I don't think have anything to do with it. I watch to see quality football. The matchups this year SUCKED. Look at the primetime games this year. How many times did we have to watch the Jets, Bears, Jaguars, Rams, Browns? Awful. Second is all the penalties and silly rule changes that have made the game harder to watch.
sometimes the most squeaky clean characters have some of the dirtiest secrets hiding. knowing a player has some dirty laundry aired out in public isnt necessarily a bad thing. if he is willing to improve himself outside of football, its worth the risk extending a 2nd chance to him
Great point. Ray Rice would start out at top of everyone's "good guy" list under this new system. How did that turn out? There is good and bad, upsides and downsides to deal with in every potential player. Bischotti should go run another business if he no longer has the stomach for winning, caring only about his reputation.
This bothers me big time. Basically saying they only take choir boys. Ravens will never be great again and feared again, until they come off this stupid issue.
Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft gave no problem taking in baddest of the bad seeds because they help them win.
Ravens passed on Noah spence and others...
I may hang up my Raven gear if they dont get back to taking Bad mo fos. Were not here for patty cakes, were here to win football games.
Keep your personal, political issues out of it.. unless were going to go through every team and kick off every druggy, murderer, abuserknucklehead etc. Ravens have to play by the same rules when they drafted red flag guys like McCalister, Ray, Sizzle and all of them turned up roses 1 way shape or form.
It's funny you bring this up, because Jerry was the ORIGINAL owner to take the choir boy stance. After Irvin got caught with the hookers and coke in the motel, Jerry listened to all the quacks who demanded he could not draft anyone with baggage ever again. The next few years, guys like Warren Sapp and Randy Moss were passed over for good guys like Greg Ellis, Ebenezer Ekuban, and David LaFleur. What did it get them? Last place (5-11 records) for 3 straight years. Parcells came on board after 2002, and Dallas became relevant again.
Let's just make this simple, we'll draft only players from Yale and Harvard. That should solve all our problems. Go get em Ozzie!
I don't think anyone puts this on Biscotti, but changes needed to be made, starting at Offen Coord. There is NO reason in the world to bring that guy back, he was awful. 25 years of what? Has the guy ever ran a proficient offense? Has he ever taken a team to a championship? And the guy insisting on bringing him back is Harbaugh......who should now live and die with the guy. If he has to go at any point in 2017, Harbaugh should go with him.
Jees where the hell have people been? Our secondary is awful.........3 years running. Should have traded up and drafted Ramsey instead of the "safe" Stanley.
I feel like people are in a coma sometimes. It has been extremely obvious that our secondary has sucked for the past 3 or 4 years and worse when our top corner can only play about 9 games a year. Now, all of a sudden I'm reading articles about how we need to improve our secondary. We should have done that last year when we had the #6 pick in each round. It's going to be alot harder now that we're back at #15-20. Ozzie needs to stop drafting guards and tight ends in the top rounds and get us some playmakers at the skill positions!
First he has to be reliable...........as in 16 games played, not 10. And if we're ever going to get better, we need to start drafting CBs high in the draft............not in the 5th and 7th rounds in lieu of drafting guards, tackles and tight ends in the top rounds.
Webb needs to go, Wright needs to go, but the first release we need is Harbaugh and staff- until this is fixed it doesn't matter what our roster looks like...
Wright should've been gone after week 4. There's a reason he couldn't even make the 49ers.....but you're right about Harbaugh and his staff. This is b.s. I still honestly believe without a doubt that we had the best team in the AFC this year, esp after Gronk went down. We should've been in the SB. I've never seen a season coached worse in all 3 phases in a season for any sport. It was honestly baffling. And it was certainly all lead by Harbaugh. I don't know what Steve is doing. I'm wondering if he's uneasy about bringing in a whole new staff because they've all been around for so long and it's like a family atmosphere. I don't know what it is. But looks like we're trying this all over again with the same staff next year...
I think sometimes you have to wait for the right coach to come along. I'm inclined to see Harbaugh go...........but for who? Chip Kelly? Some college coach we never heard of? We might have to wait until someone great is available.
I don't know why we kept Arrington in the first place. Garbage. Worse than what we have now. I was furious when I saw we didn't cut him and suddenly he went on IR (and thus was guaranteed to be paid about $2.5m for the whole season). GET RID OF HIM IMMEDIATELY!
In watching football for almost 40 years, coordinators don't change. They might TRY ............you might see a change in their playcalling for about 10 seconds. But at the end of the day, they don't change who they are and they revert back to their old style (especially when the game gets close). So expect to see exactly the same thing next year from the playcalling and philosophy standpoint.
And for the record, none of this matters if your offensive coordinators and playcalling suck (see Cam Cameron 2012).

Giving up that 3rd rounder to move up and take Jalen Ramsey seems like a no-brainer now. Too late.
