  1. Let me put it this way. Myles Jack already has the instincts of a 10 year vet, he is the fastest ILB prospect we have seen in a long time, he plays with an intimidation factor kinda like this guy who led our defense for almost two decades and wants to be the bully. On top of that he embraces coverage, and would often line up at corner for UCLA, covering WR's 40 yards down field. Youtube Voch Lombardi Miles Jack and you can see some great film of his ability. He is the most polished player in this draft and is probably the best athlete as well. He played RB for UCLA also. I really don't want another ILB. Seriously, this game is won on D with pass rush and cover corners. ILB just can't be involved enough in the passing game to have the impact of a DE or CB. You can find decent enough ILB on the free agent market..........cheap. Jack might be a hell of an ILB, but we already drafted Mosley and really need other things on D.
  2. Here's your tough decisions: Release Monroe, release Webb, release Pitta, release K Lewis, release D Smith. Saves you about $6m this year and gets them ALL off the books in 2016..........instead of beating up the cap further in 2017, 2018, 2019.
  3. Would you agree, that in order to "perform to expectations" , you have to be medically cleared to do so first? Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the guy never played again. In 40 years of watching football I don't think I've ever seen a guy so young miss so much time over that basic of an injury (bruised knee/pcl). What's going to happen when he really gets hurt (high ankle sprain, broken foot, lisfranc). Is he going to retire?
  4. I don't think anything's been unfair at this point. To this day, we've never been told anything different than a "bruised knee" that occurred 7/31/15 and he has never played since. What are we supposed to think here? We needed this guy on the field badly. I'll tell you this, if you think this is unfair, wait until the backlash that happens if he is not out there running full speed and catching balls in the first practice/minicamp/walkthrough/etc. I mean, I can hear it now "Well, he's not out there today, we're just being cautious with Breshard given his injury last season............"
  5. This is crazy. It is a very, very poor assumption that a corner who loses a step can just slide into safety. They are two completely different positions. That's like saying a WR can slide down into TE. The guy can't stay healthy at CB, you think he's gonna do any better at S ? He'll have to tackle ALOT. He hasn't played in a preseason game since 2013. He failed his conditioning test last year, it's time to move on. He's making $9m and we should just eat that this year and be completely clear of him by 2017.
  6. I just can't see Stanley being our pick. I mean, you're going to take the second best OT with the #6? If it's not Tunsil then forget it. Everyone here is assuming if you take a LT here, he's Jon Ogden. That draft is history folks.........you're not getting Jon Ogden here. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to a LT if our offensive line was in shambles. It's not, our OL is in a lot better shape than our secondary and receivers which sucked last year (not counting S Smith who's in his last year). So take the best available player as we always do, (Ramsey, Buckner, whoever) but I can't see that being Stanley who's not even the best at his position coming out.
  7. Like I posted, they're talking about avoiding dead money this year. That's crazy with the Pitta/Monroe/Webb situations. I think this is the year you take it ALL off the books and start fresh in 2017.
  8. Well, its also possible that we keep Monroe and Hurst AND draft an OT early in the draft, possibly as high as round 1. Covers ourselves for the short and long term potentially. I just don't see Monroe ever working out, mainly because he's walking wounded. It's something different every week and he's barely played 25% of the snaps in 2 years. Sometimes you just gotta cut bait. I see a lot of other teams with pedestrian LTs doing just fine. Go out and find a low-modest FA pickup or be serious about Osemele at LT.
  9. NONESENSE! What we need to do is get rid of all these bad contracts immediately........this year! Stop spreading the cancer to 2017, 2018 and 2019, which is exactly what you do when you restructure contracts and hold onto bums like Monroe, Webb and K Lewis. The only contract I'd be restructuring at this point is Flacco. The best thing for the Ravens is to recognize that they are way too deficient talent-wise to win it all in 2016. So take that year to purge the contracts of Pitta, Monroe, Webb, KLewis, D Smith and any other haunting contract. Then you have two good drafts (16 and 17) and then, my God, you actually have money to spend in 2017. Stop playing around with these guys, they are not going to play anywhere near as well as the contact they're getting.
  10. No one is every going to "game plan" for this guy.......that's all you really need to know. He'll be buried on the depth chart once bodies are healthy again.
  11. Huge mistake not to completely revamp this secondary. Our cap situation is so tight every year that we've not been able to sign anyone significant and we've not taken hardly any S or CB in the draft other than Elam. Smith isn't nearly enough and has been disappointing. That said, the secondary sucks.......it cost us a playoff game in NE and this year was even worse than before. This is not a position you can nickel and dime anymore. No more signing guys off the garbage heap like Arrington, no more sending 6th and 7th round picks to the Dolphins for someone off the bottom of their bench. No more signing guys off other team's practice squads. Either we need to spend high draft picks on it, or pony up $12m a year for a good player. If we don't have money then we don't have much choice.
  12. STOP!!!!! Just stop it. I'm not trying to beat up on the guy because I know he's taking it hard, but you can't even BEGIN to predict anything even remotely close to this guy playing at any point in time. I mean, he's still out with a "bruised knee" right? Any talk of him playing should be permanently shelved until he suits up and catches passes. That said, we are in desperate need of a WR in the offseason.
  13. Seriously this is ridiculous. Just cut the man already. He's done. He misses every training camp. Misses every practice. There's no way in the world you can pay this guy anywhere near the money he makes and restructuring is simply delaying the inevitable. You cut him and take the hit. We're not in contention this year and it's time to get rid of these contracts. He was a player for a while but his body is simply not going to be able to continue.
  14. Injury update for Monroe? Don't even bother to suit up for week 17 buddy. I mean, why change your habits now?
  15. Until I see stalwart play from one of these guys, every one of these "job promotions" should be advertised as a "sales promotion".
  16. Pack him in. He's one of the very few bright spots this year. He had a ton of experience this year, nothing at all to play for going forward, let him heal.
  17. It's about time. I've been asking for 2 years if this guy could play LT. I mean seriously, how many more pitiful performances from Hurst and long-term absences from Monroe did it take to get to this point???? We should have tried this LONG ago with either Osemele or Wagner. Hell with him at LT, we might still have still had Flacco and a chance for the playoffs.
  18. This guy Monroe's a nightmare. He got a big contract and has barely played 35% of the snaps. When he does play, he's average to below average. Time to move on. How do we replace him? That's not the question, he's already been replaced by Hurst. The question is, how do we replace Hurst (who's been awful)? I wouldn't be opposed to Wagner or Yanda or Osemele trying it out. Hell they couldn't be ANY worse that what we have.
  19. The answer is simple..........they didn't pass the ball 40 times. Any good team is going to realize that and boom, we're dead. You watch when Pittsburgh or Cincinnati play us.
  20. Got a lot of good pieces, but also a lot of F-minus pieces. We need to get this cap situation straightened out and that would mean sacrificing the 2016 season for the betterment of the team. Get rid of Monroe, K Lewis, Webb and of course Pitta contract. If that means cutting a good player or two to get those 4 duds off the books, then so be it. We get two good drafts (2016 and 2017) and some cap room in 2017 and we'll be able to make another run in 2017. I don't want anymore restructures (besides Flacco) or cutting guys after June 1st. All you're doing is prolonging the agony of getting rid of those players.
  21. Really wanted to see this guy all year long. Let's hope he's as good as he looked in preseason.
  22. I really don't have any idea what we're doing anymore. We just keep churning the bottom of our roster with no success. We're continually picking up guys who were on their sofas last week. How can you evaluate any of these guys when they're only on the roster for 2 weeks at a time?
  23. Seriously guys, I've watched football for almost 40 years and can't ever remember a young guy being out for the whole season after having such a minor looking injury. Folks, something's not right here. I have doubts we'll ever see this guy in uniform again.
  24. Maybe we can give Monroe back to the sorry Jags where he belongs.
  25. We are not beating any team with a passing game such as Pittsburgh and Cin so stop it. Teams without any passing attack are about a 30-40% chance of winning.
