  1. Practice is one thing. Live action..........that's a whole 'nother deal. Let's see how he does against AJ Green and Antonio Brown.
  2. Big difference between "surprised" and "impressed". They sucked so badly last year, I'm still having nightmares about them this coming year.
  3. After our weak draft and another Perriman injury, I'm doubting us too.
  4. Many people don't realize how good Wallace will be. He was a great deep threat (probably better than Torrey Smith) with Ben in Pitt. He went to a couple bad offenses and suffered........now he's back with a deep thrower. Wouldn't be surprised if he scored 10+ TDs this year. I believe he was once the fastest player in the NFL and he's still only turning 30 this year.
  5. This guy was supposed to be an edge rusher! All I heard after the draft was how we were desperate for pass rushers. What are you going to do with him at ILB??? You don't rush the passer with those guys.
  6. Weddle was an A-plus addition. A safety can only do so much cleaning up and communicating...............I still have no faith in our corners.
  7. I wouldn't get your hopes up folks. Sliding an aging corner over to safety is like sending a WR to TE when he loses a step. Or a RB to FB. It rarely works out.
  8. I hear Samari Rolle and Dominique Foxworth are available.
  9. We were the #1 passing defense the last 8 games of the season calm down. That was without Suggs and Weddle. Now we have those guys and all our draft picks. Go back and watch the games. Those teams tried to run the ball 35 times, inexplicably (including the Steelers who ran the ball on the first 10 plays). Mark my word, whenever a team had to or needed to throw the ball, they just dropped back and got it. 10, 15, 20 yards a pop. We were hopeless against those teams and more of the same will come this year. We can't cover, no undoing that now.
  10. I think Stanley's a day-one starter, my beef is that he was not an elite player and passing up on Tunsil (yes I know we had to but it sucks) and not making a move for Ramsey is going to be regrettable. Everyone else looks like a project.....guys who won't be producing for another 2 years.
  11. I don't know why Brown is even on the roster. No real playing time in 5 years. Reminds me of Jah Reid, he never plays but is somehow always listed as our "primary" backup.
  12. Drugs Eisenberg, we are no better off. Weddle is an A-plus addition who can clean up some mess, but a safety can't cover AJ Green or Antonio Brown. Nor can our ILBs cover LeVeon Bell or Giovanni Bernard. Pass rush can't help those guys. It's going to be another long season for the defense.
  13. Can't wait to see a 5'9" guy in our secondary. We need upgrades, not another project.
  14. This whole article is about our dire need at CB and ILB. Could have solved that for years with Ramsey and Myles Jack. We blew it.
  15. Hope there's a #1 and #3 cornerback sitting on the market. We didn't bother to draft any.
  16. I'm not sure how we will be fine in the secondary. We only have one proven corner on the roster in Jimmy Smith, and It is not like he is a Revis. Wright had one good year and Davis played well before he got injured which was like two games. Put it like this, unless our d line puts up a ton of sacks I think our secondary will be the same old secondary. Weddle should make things better, but this is a make shift secondary that still needs major work. No doubt, the best Ravens secondaries have been led by a pass rush that could keep the qb moving. Anytime any secondary has to cover more than 3 to 4 seconds, you are asking alot. Our pass rush gave qb's 6,7 and even more seconds to pass which even Revis would have a tough time doing for a whole game. The key to a great secondary is a great pass rush. I very specifically remember the playoff game against New England where Suggs and Lewis had Tom Brady running all over the field and he ended up throwing a bunch of interceptions including one to Carey Williams to end the game. It may have been the 2012 game. Anyway, as great as Brady was, he can't throw from his back. This last super bowl, when Cam had destroyed the league, the Broncos pressure kept him moving and took him out of his game. That secondary looked spectacular, but it was the front line pressure that made them look so good. Yep. Football is more a game of balance than many people realize. Too little pass rush and the secondary has to cover for days on end each play. Too little coverage and the front gets gassed from chasing and not able to get home to the QB. Ineffective rushing and opponents start teeing off on your QB. Ineffective passing and opponents load the box. When they are in balance they compliment each other and mask the deficiencies. Opponents see less obvious weaknesses. It's what makes team sports exciting and why super stars by themselves mean little compared to a well oiled machine that is the team. Our secondary is so bad, it was Mississippi-one and the receivers were wide open. No pass rush could help that. Not getting any better this year.
  17. What planet are we on here? Our secondary sucks. They got abused by lowly Cleveland, got torched by the Raiders, Bengals, Seattle, SF, Arizona and any other team that dared to throw the ball 40plus times. We had a shot at Ramsey and Myles Jack and passed so we could take the safe pick and a bunch of long-term projects. Sad.
  18. Mediocre players? Lmao! You obviously know nothing about these studs we just added to our team. If you did, you would not say such foolish things Would it help if I told you that, in the last 5 years, only 5 total players drafted in the 4th and 5th round (COMBINED) have even made a single pro bowl? Five. That's less than a 1% chance of getting anyone in those rounds that's anything but........mediocre. Ozzie can boast, we can wish, but the odds are that this draft might fail due to our conservative picks in rounds 1 & 2.......two rounds you need to come away with elite players.
  19. In the last 5 years, there have been over 170 players taken in the fourth round. Only THREE have ever made the pro bowl (none since the 2012 draft - Devonte Freeman). So I have no idea what Ravens are bragging about. You win this game with elite top round talent, not a bunch of 4th and 5th round picks. I can't believe we didn't use those picks to trade up in the top rounds. We are so in need of an infusion of talent at the skill positions and didn't get it here. Ruined my whole summer.
  20. Ramsey was gone, Jack would bring swagger to the training room, Spence brings swagger to the rehab clinic and Tunsil brings swagger to the party while his friend jumps out the window.... Watch the game tape (not just highlights) - Stanley > Tunsil, Correa > Spence. I don't care about swagger, I care about play on the field and winning. This might be the post of the year... We'll see. Same thing was said about Warren Sapp and Randy Moss (both first ballot hall of famers) as they were bypassed for clean players like Mike Mamula and Greg Ellis. You can't substitute for pure talent no matter how "try hard" the player is. But forget about Tunsil and Spence, we had a real shot at Ramsey and Jack........both greater talents, "clean" players and real need positions.
  21. I don't know how you grade anyone on their 4th round picks. Those guys are ALL projects at best. We drafted a couple safe picks early and then a bunch of projects. I'm so disappointed we didn't make the move for Ramsey and passed on Jack. This Ray Rice and Perriman thing has us so screwed up, we can't even take a chance anymore.
  22. Really wanted Myles Jack
  23. Dumb question! Monroe isn't even going to be on the roster in week 1!!!!! This is the guy who missed parts of THIRTEEN games last year and 9 the year before. Your QB is rehabbing a knee because of this guy's unreliability. My God, has this day finally come?
  24. Don't agree at all. Gotta get a couple ringers here - #6 in round 1 and round 2. "Depth" just doesn't do it at this point. We already have plenty of mediocre "depth" and it showed last year...........ALL YEAR LONG.
  25. Love ya Pitta, but there's no way we can pay another $6m for an "iffy at best" season.
