So why is everyone so high on this guy then? He won the Outland Trophy and started for 3 years. You look at mocks and he is gone early. If they lose Wagner then who does Ozzie bring in? James Hurst....

Idk why people are so high on him. I'd say its an Alabama thing, but with guys like Fluker, Andre Smith, and Chance Warmack being the banner carriers, I don't think it's that. He isn't a terrible run blocker, but I wouldn't trust him enough in pass sets to leave him at tackle if I could avoid it. I think Ramczyk and Bolles should go ahead of him and a couple of the guards should too.

I'm 99% sure Wagner walks so they'll definitely need to replace him. The FA RT class isn't actually that bad behind Wagner. If we could get a cheap guy like Vollmer, Menelik Watson, or an even lower guy like Jordan Mills to compete with Lewis, I think they'd be in good shape.

I honestly don't think it would change anything - when you have 2-3 qbs who are all going to go around the same time it comes down to personal taste as to who to take first - going to the senior bowl won't change that in actuality because he's got 2 years of tape playing at a very high level and succeeding in big games

His tape isn't that special though. He needs something else to get him back into Round 1. I think that showing himself as coachable and getting face time in with the Browns and Bears (or whoever is coaching) would have been the best way to do that.

I think The Ravens are going to get Cam Robinson. Ozzies loves players from Bama and with Wagner being a FA there isn't much keeping Ozzie from drafting Robinson in round one if he slips to 16.

Cam Robinson's lack of quality play will probably keep Ozzie from drafting Robinson in Round 1 or 2.

TBH I don't think his draft stock gets higher from playing in the senior bowl - he's just come off a phenomenal win against a phenomenal defence and is pretty much already a certified 1st rounder (2nd rounder worst case for him)

I think if he wants to do something about the QB or 2 that'll probably go ahead of him, he should have gone to Mobile.

I think now more than ever that Lattimore will go off the board first followed by one of the Gators. I'm praying for Jones. So fluid and makes his coverage look effortless.

Walker is interesting because I like him but many were saying he isn't built for a 3-4 because he is too big. He is 280 or more, but I wonder if he could be a hybrid in our scheme, especially since we already have Bronson who is a 4-3 end anyway

Id be interested in Walker. I'm not sure the 4-3, 3-4 framing really applies to the defense since Pees has always run a lot of 4 man fronts anyway.

My problem with Marshall is the fact that how does a guy that talented who produces that much becomes a rental player? It doesn't make sense to me, to be honest with you it's probably a locker room issue and a big one for him to continually find team after team. That said, same can be said for Steve Smith but he played for one team before coming here, Marshall keeps bouncing around but the question is why? I don't know what type of interest we would have.

Yeah. He's just been one of those guys who has had controversy follow him everywhere.

I'd rather have the power guys. Technique doesn't (always) get you that extra yard on 3rd and 1. When it comes down to it, offensive line comes down to being able to plant somebody into the turf. Wagner has never been that type. Always the type that could just wall off and seal.

I've always liked the idea of getting maulers and working on their technique -- like Ryan Jensen. There are probably better examples, since we all know Jensen is far from perfect, but Jensen is the kind of prospect I like. A strong mauler with underrated athleticism. Hell, Marshall Yanda is another example of a guy like that. Remember he was a third round pick.

It's difficult to find maulers with footwork, but as long as they aren't as fat as Bryant McKinnie, they can usually figure it out with good coaching. Different protection sets can also help with that.

I think that's been the kind of prospects the FO has chased for a while and sometimes its worked out  (Yanda, Osemele) sometimes it hasn't  (Gradkowski, Myers, Oher). It's been a pretty good blueprint, but it's been difficult to project the future of players like that coming out of college.

Hello Ravens fans, I come in peace!   Texans fan here, I am doing an informal write up on Right Tackles (you may have seen ours get cut to the ground falling on his knees on a career ending hit that took out BOTH patella tendons).

Wagner is very curious to me as he had a very solid 2014, followed by a somewhat rough 2015.  He seems to have bounced back, looking at the numbers, but I didn't have an opportunity to see many live Ravens games until the end of the year.  The numbers show you about 13th in the league as an O-line as a whole.  He only had 3 penalties accepted this year, which would be a HUGE improvement alone (our backup Chris Clark had 17......yes you read that right).

What did you guys think of his play, and are you hoping to get him back for 2017 or indifferent?

Thanks guys.  Happy to help with any questions about Texans FA's.  (Ryan Griffen, AJ Bouye, Quinten Demps, John Simon, Brandon Weeden, Akeem Dent and potential roster cuts : JJo, Cushing (really hope not though).

I think the team (and fans) would take him back at a reasonable value- 6.8mil/year is probably where that line would be drawn. I personally think the open market could drive his price over 9mil/year, so I'm not really expecting him back if he isn't signed in the next couple months.

I have no major complaints about his play, the situation is somewhat similar to the Osemele situation the team had last year, where it's a guy who stabilizes the line when healthy, but has only played one full season- in which he did struggle with injury. Another problem is that even when he did play he was hurt a lot of the time and that affected him. Osemele's situation was a little different in that he was expected to get starting LT money at this point before FA, and I don't think Wagner will get paid like LT money- but the hip, new Dallas/Oakland blueprint muddies the water.

So I guess to summarize, I'd be sad to see him go because he is an above-average NFL lineman and has done a lot for this team, but he isn't really the special talent that some team will probably pay him to be if he hits the open market.

People said the same thing about Cyrus Jones but Ozzie didn't take him. In fact if you want I think Bill has taken more or equally as many Alabama players lately. I don't particularly care for Humphrey but yeah. I think we'll address CB before he goes and I think we'll double dip with a mid round pick. I think a safety is also likely and while I hear Canady mentioned as a CB I think I recall seeing him play more safety before his injury so we may see his future there.

I actually think Belichick overdrafted Cyrus Jones by a lot which prevented the Ravens from getting him, but it might have led to Tavon getting drafted, so i have no complaints.

I haven't looked in depth at Humphrey yet, but from what Ive seen he isn't in the same territory as a guy like Wilson or Sidney Jones.

Canady is intriguing, but I'm not sure he'll ever be anything but a special teams player.

Hello 3rd round comp in 2018 draft then, maybe two 3rd round comps if Wagner really gets that $$ and Williams does as well.

I think it's definitely possible. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to keep Wagner, but with left tackles and now guards getting larger and larger contracts. It's only a matter of time until right tackles start getting their piece. Teams are desperate for OL help. Thats why even mediocre guards like J.R. Sweeney are getting almost 7mil/year.

I think that'd be insane, but you never know.  I'd argue that Schwartz had a better season leading into his FA, but he did have a little more competition out there.  I just think Wagner at $10M would be such a huge jump that it's crazy.

I gave up on predicting OL contracts when the left guard who never played a full season got 12mil/year.

I guess we'll see. I think Scott is immensely talented so I personally disagree.

And how about this guy Guillermo? Man, I love how he plays. I've been waiting to see how he played against Alabama and he's done well.

Oh yeah he's done good, that Bama DL is beast too.

I wouldn't mind drafting this guy at all.  He's a weapon and would make our ST very deadly.  I know we have Koch, but I'd drop Koch for Scott.  It's not even close.

I wouldn't want Scott. Takes too long to get his punts off, NFL those gets blocked all the time. Plus Koch is a lot better with placement anyway.
