  1. I think you are overstating Harrison's effectiveness as a pass rusher versus Williams-- it is important to remember that neither stays on the field very often for obvious passing downs. I agree that stats don't tell you much in a vacuum, but looking over two players' 4 year careers (a little less for Williams), production does matter at least a little bit (as long as you are keeping the scheme in mind- since both are NTs who get the occasional 3T passing snap). It's also important to remember that contract prices do increase every year, which will cause players to get paid more than other players that they are probably better then- that's how guys like Michael Brockers and Malik Jackson get paid bigger contracts than guys like Geno Atkins and Corey Liuget (Not that any of these guys is a NT or anything). A decent amount of teams have a lot of cap space, and we're only one offseason past seeing the Ravens' Left Guard become the 7th highest paid OL in the NFL- with a contract that was worth more than Joe Thomas's. My biggest worry is that the Titans have 24 Mil in space and a need at NT.
  2. Harrison was brought in to play NT in New York. He had 1.5 sacks in 4 years (3 as a starter) when he got his contract. BWill provides a lot more pass rush than Harrison did and is a better run stuffer.
  3. But I'm gonna miss watching 4 NFL games in a row
  4. My only issue is that I would be absolutely shocked if Brandon Williams didn't get a bigger deal than Damon Harrison. I'd be genuinely surprised to see Williams get anything less than 9.5 mil/year (I actually expect him to get 10mil/year personally). I love Brandon Williams, but if you're trying to resign Jernigan in the future, I don't think keeping Williams around makes that possible.
  5. He played Right Tackle his rookie year. He actually only played Right Tackle in college because Kalil beat him out for the USC Left Tackle job.
  6. I don't feel good about this game. Miami really needs to win this game and they're definitely going to bring everything they have. The Miami WRs are one of the more underrated groups in the NFL. I think that Jimmy Smith can match up well against Devante Parker and Tavon can matchup well against Landry- who has been pretty quiet recently. I doubt Ajayi goes off against the Ravens though- especially if the Miami OL is as unhealthy as it seems. The offense will struggle a lot. That Miami DL is no joke- there needs to be a plan to deal with Suh, Wake and Williams- quick passes, draws, etc.- I don't see how we'll be able to rely on the long ball with Ducasse and Half-Yanda up against that interior pressure. This game is going to be a fight, and (assuming Jimmy Smith plays), I think the game ends Baltimore 16, Miami 13.
  7. I really like Desmond King in a hybrid role, I don't think he'd be bad on the perimeter, but I think he'd be underutilized there.
  8. I'm still really interested to see where Kaufusi plays. I didn't really view him as a pure 5-technique, but I could see him playing a similar role that Bosa is playing in SD.
  9. Late, but I really like this mock. I think Elflein probably sneaks in early in the Second Round- we definitely aren't the only team needing a center, but I feel good about the centers in this draft- there's probably four or five I'd be happy with taking.
  10. A couple weeks ago, I was convinced that Wagner was out, but he's stepped up over the past couple weeks, I think it'll take between 6 and 7 mil at least to lock him up (going off the Schraeder deal), possibly 8 or 9 if he hits the open market. It's a tough call for me, but I'd lean towards resigning him and looking for a center in the draft. but I wondered what you guys thought.
  11. Missed the game because I was at the Bucs-Seahawks game, but it looks like Cincinnati won't have to worry about that pesky playoff streak anymore.
  12. Looks like good news for the Judon fans
  13. He's definitely a better punt returner. You could fair catch a punt every time and we'd probably be better off than having Hester back there. There's been numerous times the offense has started within their own 10 because Hester isn't fielding punts that he should.
  14. Hester almost consistently gives up yards because he is timid in fielding punts. Hester has always been a fumbler, but his home run ability has kind of made up for it. Since that home run ability isn't there anymore and he struggles to field punts, there isn't much justification left in keeping him. Campanaro's injuries have been frustrating, but they generally aren't the kind of lingering injuries that will affect him in the long run. He's certainly not a worldbeater by any means, but he brings more to the offense (considering that Hester brings nothing to the offense) and at this point in his career he is a better returner with more upside than Hester.
  15. I'm hoping that this is the week where Hester gets released and Campanaro gets elevated. I also hope to see Boyle get activated (probably via waiving Taliaferro or putting Lewis on IR). If Campanaro is healthy and Boyle is activated, I think that they could actually provide a spark in the intermediate passing game. I feel like the defense is going to bounce back this week from a bad showing in Dallas. AJ Green and Gio Bernard are arguably the Bengals best offensive weapons, so if the Bengals are going to get their offense going, they'll be relying on Jeremy Hill (fumble-prone) and Tyler Eifert (dangerous). The Bengals WRs are nothing special without Green and the line has been pretty bad this year for them, so I think we match up well against Cincinnati's offense. Cincinnati's defense seems average to me. I think that it'll be a rough matchup for Baltimore's offense, but if the running game gets going I feel good about the Raven's chances.
  16. Courtney Upshaw?
  17. I think we're an average team struggling with injuries that's currently winning a bad division by tiebreaker.
  18. Can't complain too much, Dallas is definitely a good team. Definitely some ticky-tack penalties that went Dallas's way and the loss of Jimmy Smith ended up being too much to overcome. The Run D underperformed, but that's definitely foreseeable against that stacked Dallas OL. That second half was awful in every facet of the game for the team, the offense committed some purely dumb penalties that stalled drives and the defense couldn't make a stop. I feel good about the team going forward. We're still in first place in the division, and Dallas might be the best team in the league. IMO the team is not as far away from being a genuine contender as most people seem to think.
  19. Its frustrating watching a run-run-pass offense work for a team...
  20. Getting beat in every facet this half.
  21. Im unfortunately not seeing any way this turns around here :/
  22. Things aren't going as well as they were earlier.
  23. I'm still excited to see how Urban pans out in a full-time role after Guy probably leaves. Also excited to see how Kaufusi does next season. Nose Tackles are hard to find out of college, so I would like to keep Williams, but Pierce is good enough that I don't think the FO over-extends their wallet to bring Williams back. I actually feel decent about the DL depth. I think that Jernigan is the leader and Pierce, Urban, Kaufusi, Davis and Henry offer enough upside in a rotation to keep the play at a high level. Never opposed to taking a good DL in the draft though when one is available- and I think there's a lot of good DLs. Vita Vea from Washington is one of my favorites that could be available late in the first/early in the second, but he's a RS Sophomore and might not declare.
  24. I think Williams is let go under the 80/20 rule in light of Pierce and I think Guy is too in light of Urban/Kaufusi. Dumervil is unlikely to be around next year because of his age and injuries, but I think Suggs sticks around if he doesn't retire (which I think with his bicep injury is a stronger possibility than people probably think). Judon, Correa and Zadarius Smith are the rush LBs going forward (and probably a draft pick or 2 depending on how cap casualties and free agency goes) and they'll definitely need to step up if the defense is going to have continued success.
