  1. Top 3 Corners in that game were Webb (pretty much his last year as a true CB), Melvin and Antoine Cason, I'd definitely consider Young, Wright and Powers an improvement over that trio. AB still had 9 catches (on 14 targets) for 117 yards, 0 TDs. I think an issue that people are overlooking is that historically it really takes more than AB having a good game for the Steelers to beat the Ravens.
  2. I cheer against the Steelers every week, not just because I'm a Ravens fan but because I've lived in Pittsburgh for a couple years and the people are inherently unreasonable and I don't like to see them happy. Fortunately, the Steelers have only beat the Ravens once since I've lived in Pittsburgh.
  3. Im just glad the punt returns aren't killing us like they were with Hester. I'm happy with the Camp situation though. The team can see what they have in him this season and bring him back to compete for a spot again next year with only a 7th Round tender if they want. Its quality management by the FO considering that both SSS and Aiken might be gone.
  4. I can't believe this thread still exists haha
  5. If any other team in the league went from 5 wins to 8 wins (with two games left) and a shot at the playoffs, they'd be praising the FO and coach and worried that one or two of their coordinators would get picked off.
  6. AFC North games are rarely blowouts, so it'll be messy and ugly and the team is going to need to stay resilient to pull out some wins. The Steelers Five game win streak isn't that impressive. Browns. Colts without Luck, Giants with "bad Eli", Bills with that snow disaster, and Bengals without AJ Green. None of the wins were even that spectacular. The Steelers aren't a great team and past-prime Fat Ben made a lot of dumb mistakes the past couple games Ive seen. Theyre a beatable team. Even without Jimmy Smith, I think there's a shot. Bengals are tough to gauge at this point. Is AJ Green going to be back? Is Marvin Lewis going to get fired? Is Vontaze Burfict going to get suspended indefinitely for spearing a ref next week? All valid questions. But that team is still 5-8-1 and their OL sucks. Even then, it's going to be a tough game, but definitely winnable. So maybe. Maybe not. Its been a better season to watch than last season nonetheless.
  7. Le'Veon Bell has been injured/suspended so often, I can't actually remember if we've ever played him before.
  8. Idk where thats coming from. Hes a very good cornerback. His health issues have been a little overstated. Either way cutting him would incur like 17 million in dead space against the cap.
  9. Just saw on twitter that Chubb is returning to UGA for his senior year. Good move imo. Stock is probably low because he didn't appear fully over his knee injury this season.
  10. I really liked him and I loved watching his game film, I'm just not sure that he ever develops into anything other than a really good 3rd Down Back. I think Lesean McCoy is his ceiling but C.J. Spiller is his floor.
  11. 1. The benefit of a post-June 1 cut is to spread out dead money, theyll still get 6M of immediate relief, then 3M after. So what that basically does is it gives them more room because they can use some of the money they had reserved for their draft class (which typically doesnt sign until June anyway) in Free Agency. 2. Agree, but not exactly relevant. Packers still have a lot of guys they could bring back. They aren't dumb enough to significantly backload every single contract. Theyll still need a decent amount of room. Im sure theres other players the Packers could cut to get room, but Cobb is their third highest cap hit in 2017 and he's barely a part of that offense anymore. Ill admit that a restructure is probably more likely than an actual release but Im allowed to dream right?
  12. Ha... ha... ha.... *continues sobbing*
  13. I'm not sure McCaffrey is going to be a receiver in the NFL. Nothing I've seen from him has led me to believe he's anything other than a running back. Definitely a good running back though.
  14. I think you're overlooking a couple of things: 1. If Cobb is a Post-June 1 release (which GB would probably do), his dead money gets spread out over 2017 and 2018 ($3.25M/each) which isn't very significant considering the growing cap. 2. GB will need to spring a decent amount of money to retain some of their guys, if they want to bring back Nick Perry, that could end up costing them about $8M/year (if not more, he's maybe the top FA pass rusher considering his age and production) and trying to bring back T.J. Lang could cost them $7M/year (based on the Sitton Contract). I'm not saying it's overwhelmingly likely to happen, but the Packers did just cut Josh Sitton to save about $6M, and they didn't even have the depth on the OL that they have at WR. I definitely think they'd consider that move if there is a free agent they like (considering their need at CB, and the CBs going to UFA, I'd bet they'd like to grab one if they can).
  15. They've completely phased him out of their offense and wouldn't be incurring much dead money relative to his cap hit. I doubt they're gonna spend 12 mil on him next year.
  16. I think it's an exceptionally low number considering the struggles we've had at that position, I know I definitely neglected a lot of information, like FAs and how many corners we moved to safety (Webb, Levine), but I do think that its a position that can't be neglected. I'm all for BPA drafting, but in light of how things are turning out for the team and how the league is moving towards nickel sets on almost every down, I think that there should be a consistent pipeline of corners coming in, even if the team is reaching a little bit on prospects.
  17. I wouldn't complain about upgrading the receiving corps in FA. Michael Floyd was just released from the Cardinals today over a DUI- never been our MO but I'd be happy if we picked him off waivers. I also think that Randall Cobb could be a Cap Casualty this offseason and I'd love to see if the Ravens could bring him in at a reasonable price.
  18. I do wish all the best for Hester, but I think that this was a good move to make. There has been an infatuation with Campanaro it seems and taking the rest of the season (however long that ends up being) to figure out if what he brings to the table is worth a RFA tender/roster spot consideration going forward.
  19. Definitely, and also not drafting enough corners has hurt us, since 2013 (that draft class currently in the last year of their rookie deals), we drafted only 4 corners- Marc Anthony (7th), Tray Walker (4th), Tavon Young (4th), Maurice Canady (6th). Young is the only one on the active roster and Canady is probably only a ST player. I don't think any team could have more success than the Ravens considering how important the position is and how neglected it has been here recently.
  20. That article is hilariously bad. I wonder if that "writer" writes a post every time a player gets released calling it "mean."
  21. You aren't wrong haha, it'll be extremely difficult. They'll need to step up... a lot.
  22. Guys, we're playing the Eagles, the Steelers and the Bengals. Let's not count the Ravens out yet. The Eagles aren't playing for anything and the Ravens have already beat the Steelers and Bengals once- so it's by definition not "impossible". It's going to be extremely difficult- especially if Jimmy is out for the rest of the season. But the Patriots are easily a lot better than any of the other teams that the Ravens will play and considering how many teams have looked stupid against the Patriots this year, I don't think it's worth dwelling on too much. There's a lot that we'll learn this week as far as injuries and potential cuts, so let's just see what happens.
  23. Fingers crossed that today is the day Hester's gone.
  24. If Wagner leaves, OL is just as much a need as those positions.
  25. Ive seen this team have their fire lit by less embarrassing losses than that. Jimmy or no jimmy im not counting them out yet. The team fought and they lost, but they didn't give up. Frankly, Im just proud to be a fan of a team that fights. I dont think any other team could have stood their ground against the Patriots with 2/3 starting CBs injured, like the Ravens did. But above all, my heart's broken for the family of Konrad Reuland. I'll be praying all night for them. Between Coach Brooks, Tray Walker and now Reuland this season has really put things in perspective- reminded us what really matters. My heart is so heavy hearing of his passing, and thinking about the others as well, that I'm not even sure i care about the loss tonight. But Win or lose, I just want to see some fight in this team. They aren't done yet and I hope they dont forget that.
