  1. I'm watching the ESPN pregame show...interesting! You'd never know the Ravens offense even arrived!
  2. I can just picture Kevin's description of "locker room" antics! Thanks for the insight.
  3. What is "passion"? To some, it's a flashy pregame dance, a fiery speech, etc. To others, it's showing up at 5 AM for a workout the day after a bruising, hard-fought game, enduring the pain of a rehab when you already have more money than you thought you'd ever need, standing in front of the cameras and admitting you have to play better, getting the coaches to alter the strategy resulting in three second-half TDs! To all, it's knowing that your teammates know and trust you!
  4. Let's see...a win - even an ugly one - against your chief rival and moving into 1st place! People like Crusader and its ilk apparently like to show off colossal ignorance! Just enjoy the win! The fact that, as Suggs said very clearly, the team needs to fix a number of things is probably not a surprise to the Ravens!
  5. Thanks Mr. Owner for making this Ravens fan proud...a classy individual is treated the kind of respect a family member receives (by a top notch organization).
  6. Three AFC teams are 3-0...and the Ravens are one of them! Who'd a thunk it? So the Ravens go from being the "...worst 2-0 team ..." (per the NFL Network) to now being the "...worst 3-0 team..."?
  7. I don't think a ball change can occur if the clock is moving.
  8. Well DUH! Enough coaches and players mentioned that already!
  9. Now, it seems to me that his teammates got an object lesson in what he means to this team! I bet Mike Wallace isn't the only Raven saying "Wow" to himself!
  10. If actions do speak louder than words, then Flacco was yelling at the top of his voice on Sunday!
  11. With 57 and 54, KC will have to work hard to get the max out of his skills, and he will have to produce! Nice problem for the Ravens to have!
  12. I noticed on Webb's blitz that after Taylor was forced to run to his right, Mosley and Jernigan chased Taylor directly while Webb and Z Smith seemed to run to a spot to possibly intercept Taylor if he was able to turn up field! Good instincts and good communication!
  13. terpmaniac, I recall the mid 2000s when we had one of the elite defenses and yet never won it all. You say the Ravens play down to the competition, but did you ever think that the worst NFL team IS STILL one of the 32 best football teams in the world? If a team knows it's not where it would like to be, then individual pride and professionalism take over. When McCown went crazy last year, it might have been because the Cleveland O-line (with a couple of Pro Bowlers) decided to step it up against a D that had so many injuries! Maybe Cleveland (and other teams) played above themselves!
  14. Any QB that suffers an ACL and MCL tear toward the end of the season (even midway) isn't going to be 100% in his first game the next. There's no way. Has he recovered phenomenally??? YES. Is he ready to cut and run in a gametime situation??? NO. Anybody that expected Joe to look like a probowl QB yesterday was fooling themselves. interesting...a QB returning from a major injury throws for over 200 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT for a 99.9 rating! Not a bad first game back. Toss in a defense led by the Ryan Brothers, even better! Having the offense get the ball with under 5 minutes and never giving it back was best!
  15. Several points: 1. It was an exciting (read that as nerve-wracking) game to watch. My emotions ran the gamut between; 1) fear that, like 2015, SOMETHING bad would happen; and a growing confidence that the team finally figured out how to win! 2. Like his buddy, Pitta showed little emotion and just did his job! 3. "Tough as a $2 steak..." I loved it! 4. Who was this offense that took over the ball with less than 6 minutes to go... ...AND NEVER GAVE IT BACK!!!!!!
  16. Lots of questions to be sure. However, I saw good things individually in the preseason as well as a brief glimpse of the chemistry between Flacco and his speed receivers. We'll find out more on Sunday.
  17. Why on earth would you say that? Have confidence in the guy. Perriman is gonna shock a lot of people. But why would you say he will get injured the first game? Because this "fan" has shown himself to be a troll!
  18. Well, a good running attack should take some of the pressure off - avoiding 2nd and long situations, allowing play-action, bootlegs, etc.
  19. Good player? Probably. Good guy? Definitely! Welcome back 88.
  20. These guys are pros! I would think that watching the Ravens in the Victory formation at the end of a game (knowing that each played a part) would overrule personal statistics!
  21. The Ravens have been successful in the past at bringing in veterans nearing the end of their careers (Matt Birk, Darryl Smith, etc.) who still can play but bring something more to the team---leadership! I personally believe this is a good deal for several reasons: 1. No veteran wants his last play in the NFL to be one where he is carted off the field! That player will be really motivated upon his return. 2. Forsett can still play. 3. We have several potentially great young backs who will benefit from Forsett's quiet leadership by learning all of the skills - not just running with the ball - required in the Ravens offense. 4. Pay respect to a veteran who has contributed much and the rest of the team (indeed players around the league) notice how the organization does business.
  22. Sorry, but I have to call a Troll-Alert on you! You say the Ravens should trade away a SB-winning QB just after claiming they will not be a SB contender? And then you finish your inane screed by opining that they would get practically nothing in trade?!?!? Don't know what drug you are using, but you should switch...ASAP...wile you still possess a few brain cells!
  23. Let's defer to the coaching staff - the professionals who see more than we do (and can see the possibilities better than we can). It's okay to disagree with them, they are not infallible. True but too many on this forum (myself included) often place our preferences before the Coaching staff and FO. Ours doesn't count! LOL

  25. After reading all these comments, I'd just like to add the following: This team was 5-11 last year. Yes, there were injuries - lots of them - and it showed that our backups were not up to par. Now, I look at the roster as it is after the cuts, and I see no position where the team does not have multiple options (in many cases, better options). Forsett is an example. Yes he got cut, but 1) each of the other RBs has shown the necessary capabilities (run, catch passes, pick up blockers, etc.) and 2) RB is an example of a position in which an inexperienced, but naturally talented youngster can succeed early on in the NFL. That having been said, I will assume that the coaching staff has picked the best 53 out of the original 90 while the FO will be watching the other teams' cuts to fill any holes. I remember that a 5-11 record meant that they had to make drastic changes (not just superficial ones) - and watching the four games, reading the articles, etc., it looks like they did what they wanted to do: the team got younger, faster and more physical.
