Not all WR's over 30 you can label "old". if they are crafty players that don't rely on speed to be productive, their ability lasts so much longer. Boldin and Smith fall into this category. Smith football wise is not old. he has good ball left in him.
@Dwayne Watts from what i heard from Schefter, they might keep Steve Smith if they can't get a WR from the market. Not a lock to be released if he isn't traded. He is due $5 mil guaranteed regardless.
@YankeeRaven When the colts gave D'Qwell Jackson that stupid contract. He has strong interest on the market and it looks like teams are willing to pay him that.
We should just pay Art Jones 6 mill, does that sound crazy?
No i'd rather replace him than pay that. Our dline will be hurt with an injured ngata and no jones (the real anchor) but hopefully Lewis Moore can fill his spot and play well enough so that its not a weakness of the team. We may bring another veteran too. Antonio Smith?
Wow so many offensive players to choose from. Now Owen Daniels too. hope Kubiak lures him here.

The transition tag allows any team to negotiate with the top center on the market (once free agency opens Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET), but it also allows the Cleveland Browns an opportunity to match the offer.
It has been widely speculated that the Browns will go out of their way to hang onto their Pro Bowl center, who hasn't missed a snap in five years.
Mack's agent, Marvin Demoff, told TheMMQB.com's Peter King that he believes he could craft a contract that would be tough for the Browns to match.
"I'm confident we can come up with a structure that would have a reasonable likelihood to not be matched by the Browns -- and would be in full compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement," Demoff said Monday night.

So I think it doesn't necessarily have to be the price of the tag. We could make any offer and the Browns would have to match it,
Makes more sense now. Thanks
Chris Clemons was one of the top rated cover safeties in the league last year. you can't compare clemons and huff. Huff couldn't do anything.
Jaguars head into free agency with some momentum: reached agreement with former Seahawks DT Red Bryant on a 4-yr deal.
Hey guys what y'all think about Phil DeCosta coming in at C? Word is he is getting released.
We can do better especially with the money we'll have if Monroe isn't coming back.
The number that Matt put out there is just all speculation.
Not a good sign if Wilson reports he is expected to test FA. must be a bigger difference.
why can't we compromise with Monroe's demands right now? If it is really only 1-2 million apart, it is worth overpaying those couple mil. i mean, didn't we just overpay an injured TE? Why are we all the sudden not budging? LT is one of the most difficult to replace. get it done
Brian De La Puente or Evan Deitrich Smith - that is a better question. I do know the saints are in pretty bad shape and the packers will have less cap after a deal with Raji. Haven't heard anything whether the packers are committed to bringing evan back.
Yeah it was, but it happens every year. Its sort of funny.
I figured it would happen but Satele and Childs? Who?
Much appreciated. Cue Alex Mack comments in 3...2...1...
Well, with it not looking like he's getting tagged, hopefully this means that we feel that we're close to a deal and didn't feel the need to keep him off the market.
like the optimism in that. hopefully you're right
Lets say we are at 132 mil just to use an exact # (might be higher soon), where does that leave us not including expected cuts like Koch and McClain?
No deal imminent between Ravens, Dennis Pitta, nothing changed from Sunday update as negotiations continue: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-sources-ravens-meet-with-dennis-pittas-representatives-as-negotiations-continue-20140223,0,27795.story …
Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 3m
There is interest from other NFL teams in Dennis Pitta, per sources, if he hits free agency. March 3 NFL deadline to use franchise tag
I can't really think who has a ton of cap space and needs an LT...
Dont know their cap space but the phins were listed as an option.
Tbf, defence didn't really win it for us (aside from that last drive) but you have a point. I think it's generally more accurate to say you need a defence to win.
Well tbf, our defense allowed just 6 points til the lights went out right. i dont think its fair to credit those 2nd half points to our D. And a fumble inside our own 20 that led to a score sparked their momentum IIRC. But they held when they needed to. When i mean defense wins championships, i also mean the games prior. They were stingy all 4 games
Peyton Manning's record season ended how Brady's 2007 record season ended - in a SB loss against a great defense. Every SB winner keeps proving defense wins championships.
Wish they could give the mvp to a whole unit. their d is scary good right now, Chancellor especially. I wonder the last time Manning was held to single digits.
In a Interview with WNST he said if Arizona doesn't sign him back He would love to reunite with Kubak in Baltimore.
Thats great news! All people see is Arizona's terrible line and that he was a part of it so he would be another one of those typical ozzie moves if it can be done.
Dont know if anyone posted this yet but its some good insight on Kubiak that should be encouraging. Any chance we can pick up Winston?

@rmcjacket23 thats what i meant which is the reason why there is a chance they might hold on to him. the panthers have to pay him the money so they have to weigh how much benefit they will get by releasing him.
