  1. How is Ebron a stud with pedestrian numbers like these at NC:

    8TD's in 3 years? (3 in 2013, 4 in 2012, and 1 in 2011)

    year - Rec - Yds - TD's

    2013  62      973    3

    2012  40      625    4

    2011  10      207    1

I'm not seeing the hype here?

Is the stat sheet all that matters? Jimmy Graham only had 17 career receptions at Miami but he was selected in the 3rd round and is now the top TE in football. If you've watch the tape, you'll see why Ebron is a stud.

  2. Just a suggestion here. How about for a FS, Ryan Clark (hold up shield).

He has said he wouldn't mind playing for the ravens before. Obviously used as a stopgap/mentor for our safety we get in the draft and Elam.

I hate listening to him on ESPN all the time but if he happens to be the best safety available if we don't take Clemons, i wouldn't mind. Even if he isn't the best, we don't need him to be. Just get Elam to SS in any way possible! I'd rather address FS in FA than draft.

  3. I was driving in the car while listening to ESPN radio.  When they announced that JJ had been resigned, I shouted to the top of my lungs and did a Joe Flacco fist pump!  I was really disappointed when I came to the forums later on that day to see mixed reactions by this signing.  What has JJ done or not done, to warrant such negativity?  In that Denver game, he looked really, really good! Even after coming back from his injury, his return game didn't diminish.

JJ isn't a bruiser or a go-to guy. BUT, JJ is that dynamic guy!  He's the X factor that will create a miracle for you, when a miracle is all you have left to win/stay in the game.  Honestly, he's been Baltimore's secret weapon!

90% of us are excited hes back. Anybody who isn't doesn't know what they're talking about.

  4. I feel like people commenting on Steves age.. have never watched Steve play.

Its getting really annoying how many mention that. his numbers dropped but we don't need the 1,000 yard Steve. Convert 3rd downs, be willing to block, and open up the field for the rest of the guys. Thats all i ask.

  5. Don`t get me wrong! I have a lot respect for S. Smith … but I don`t like the fact that we are getting older at the WR position!  I don`t think we will draft a WR high (maybe not at all) now… and I can`t understand that at all with a good deep WR class in the draft!

Not gonna affect our draft strategy. We don't just sign a 35 year old WR and say we're set. Still expect a 1st rounder.

  6. Walter posts like 1,000 different stuff on his site. When he posts that much stuff, he can't study things in depth. He probably resorts to what other people say and the stat sheet for a lot of things. Some of his grades make him look like a fool. a C- for a reasonable deal for Decker? an A+ for Revis? a D for Golden Tate? some of this crap hes spewing is unbelievable. The Smith explanation deserves a facepalm. Smitty must've thrown him a punch recently or something.

  7. Don't fix what isn't broken. Flacco's performance last year was much more a reflection of the offense around him than anything else.

He wasn't perfect either. I love Joe and you're right the offense did have more to do with it but he needs to be better than he was too, mechanically and mentally. Telegraphing throws, throwing into double coverage, and under/overthrowing Wr's was common for him. some of the latter may be due to chemistry so hearing his commitment this offseason to working with his Wr's is a good start. I think he'll be a heck of a lot better.

So now that I've been told for "the millionth time" (I only see 2 posts about this, but who's counting ...) that Dietrich-Smith is off the market, it is definitely time to get busy and in my mind get real about who we should be targeting.

Time to just set the sights on De La Puente and make that happen. I really don't see any other desirable options outside of Mack and I think that if we go for him, we'll end up empty handed. Imagine, if we target Mack, he's got a number of other suitors ... it will take some time to get an offer in front of him. Then Browns have 5 days to match the offer - which I expect they will do ... on day 5.

During that time, if another team wanting a center lands De La Puente (the Giants are set to pursue him), then we are left holding the bag.

Sorry Mom ... I know this probably should go on the "what FA we want on offense" thread, but .. oh well

Its really the only move we have. The center class is pretty underwhelming and Mack probably won't happen. Its either BDLP, some unknown, or Gino again if you ask me.

I am very disappointed in this year's WR draft class.

Tim Smith            WR    95      Virginia    rSr    6-0    195

Rashard Smith    WR    128    North Carolina State    rSr    5-9    177

Jamil Smith         WR    140    Ball State    rSr    5-6    140

Devon Smith       WR    150    Marshall    rSr    5-7    155

Daniel Smith       WR    116    Notre Dame    Sr    6-3    213

Best rated Smith is only 95th.

We now have 2 smiths on both sides of the ball. you want to add another one? haha

  8. With Jacoby and Torrey using their speed on the outside, Steve Smith in the slot and Pitta working the middle, Flacco has no excuses

Fix the line and draft him another weapon and his margin for error will be very thin if he has any sort of season similar to last year. but thats the last thing i see right now as long as Kubes is here. He and Dennison will not only fix the scheme, but fix Flacco as well.

  9. With that contract size, he'll cost us probably around 2M on the cap. Should still have room for some moves.

Mack would likely consume almost all of that (and Cleveland would probably match it). I still think De La Puente or Dietrich-Smith are the more realistic options.

Perhaps the front runner is Dietrich-Smith ... because of his last name (it is at least 1/2 a "Smith") :-)

Dietrich Smith is a Buc now.

  10. As a regular on WF, trust me, no one really pays attention to those grades from what I can tell.

I am too, and i can say nobody likes anything he does at all. I guess he is just a good troll. I have no idea why he was expecting smith to receive vet minimum. thats ridiculous.

  11. 3 years? Seriously? So much for developing any young talent (not named Torrey) on the field for a real long term investment...

Some people find excuses for us not to get a LEGIT WR but no matter how you put it, we needed a boost. We should still draft one in the 1st anyway.

  12. No way we are taking a wr or te the first round now that we have no FS. Its officialy Ha ha. Calling it now. Ozzie doesnt lesrn and will select another bama guy

We don't need a stud. Just someone capable like Clemons or DeCoud to put Elam at SS (thats all i care about). No need to waste another 1st rounder on a safety. Same for center. As much as we want Mack, we don't need a stud. Just someone better than than Gino. So odds are WR much more likely than FS in 1st.

  13. Brandon LaFell. Not terrible, but certainly not a big name player teams will fear. Jacoby and Torrey command a lot of respect with their speed, and even Steve is still pretty fast. The Ravens could be very dangerous in three or four receiver sets and I imagine Kubiak will have a lot of fun

plus a 1st round draft pick. if he comes here, he'll have no problem getting the ball. can't just focus in on him.
