  1. Wow. I'm still shocked. I don't think we're ever done it this early. We must've already hashed things out and know what we're doing and how to improve. I have a feeling something may be announced at this. I'm not sure what but it seems too early and soon for us to have no plan

I'm not surprised. I'm sure it was discussed during the bye week and again later on in the season. It's just that Steve is quiet about this sort of stuff as it should be.

I'm just glad that we get this kind of information so soon as a fan.

  2. Any money that Webb loses on his deal he can make up for it by adding more years playing football.

I hope we can get a positional restructure and add more time, maybe a year?

Would I be incorrect in stating that safeties typically have longer careers than corners?

    Average vs. Average.

  3. Get cut?? Who is saying Tucker is getting cut? I'm saying we wont be able to resign him because of our salary cap limitations and that is even taking into consideration that the Flacco contract is extended which is in no way a gimme. It is possible we could tag him but even with that it could be as high as a $5 mil hit and the sad truth is we will not have that kind of room. After all is said and done we are going to end up somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 mil in cap space which is hardly enough to spend lavishly on anyone. So no big name game changer's coming to our organization this year for sure.

Cut, not resigned, their, there, they're, you're, your, whatever. Right?

    /sarcasm for the sarcasm impaired

Salary cap or not it's the win/loss column that is most important. In that column, Tucker has proven himself.

    He's worth the money.

I'm also expecting some players to take a pay cut/ restructure/ get released. It should be able to stretch our salary cap a bit more as well, just not sure how much. Only time will tell.

  4. 1. Restructure Joe's contract - Will happen

    2. Sign Tucker to a long term deal, or tag him

    3. Make a splash signing in FA (if possible) - if cap space and situation allows it. I feel this is a good opportunity to get a FA positional need filled and relax on the hoarding of compensatory picks since we are drafting so high. Not sure what the FA situation will be however.

    4. Get healthy.

    5. Have a great draft.

    6. Have a better season for 2016.

  5. I'm not saying it's easy, but when he can do it almost automatically on the road, especially in a place like Pittsburgh (the hardest stadium to kick in), there's an issue with not doing it at home.

The stadium will be converted over to grass for next season. Expect this to change the dynamics, for any kicker.

As for the topic of the thread

How close were our games? How many times did Tucker's kick win us the game or keep us close? And you expect him to get cut? Please...

He's staying. He's a great "face of the franchise" player as well.

  6. I'm thinking a meaningless Cincinnati game might be the most likely suspect.

I don't think it's going to be meaningless for the Bengals. It may boil down for them to try to get Home field + bye in the post season. Still too early to tell and plenty can happen with the AFC leaders.

I still think we will be 5-11/6-10ish. The Seattle game will be rather telling. One thing is clear. We are not a bottom ranked team. I seriously doubt we will get a top 5 draft pick. We are seriously depleted, but not a horrible team.

  7. Well, any thoughts yet?

I got the xbox one 1TB bundle.  Haven't even gotten to Boston yet, but think it's pretty awesome.

This game is AWESOME!! Definitely  pick it up!

This game sets the bar. It's better than Skyrim, which I loved playing that game.

I played Fallout 3 and this game picks up over its shortcomings.

Better dialog sequences. You get to see your character talk (i.e. Mass Effect). You definitely feel connected to your character and the other characters you meet. AI is smarter. They will go look for you.

  8. Look at the rest of the teams that are under .500. What do they have in common? What do they not have in common?

Two teams ideally shouldn't be under .500, but they are.

We just don't have any talent, plain and simple.

For the life of me I do not know how Rivers is supposed to be a better QB than Flacco. Maybe better at throwing tantrums and making great faces for meme pics...
    But I digress...

    What a disappointment.

  9. A win against Jacksonville and we will slide up! It's definitely feasible that we could somehow squeeze into the #6 spot. A win against the Chiefs, Dolphins and Jaguars gives us the advantage. However, Oakland has the advantage over us, so we will need to have the better record. If I were Pittsburgh, I would be worried about going into a deep losing slump.

We aren't out of this folks! It could happen!
