Interesting that nobody points out the Pats 5 to 6 wins every year in the lame AFC East. When we are playing in January(and hopefully February) nobody will want to go back and review the Browns or Jags game.

Nooo don't destroy my irrational perception of the Ravens with your counterpoints!! It's ok when the Broncos, Pats and Colts get "cupcake" schedules but not us! Accept my hypocrisy!!! LOL

I guess the Patriot's win a few other games as well. Six SBs and ten AFCGs in the last 15 years is kind of impressive, but it's only because of their weak schedule.

Ah stats...they seem to come from pundits like leaves falling from a tree to "nope" anything the Ravens do. But let's talk about the "cupcake schedule" so far. If you wanted to beat Baltimore at their home opener, you would need a good team with coaches and players deeply familiar with how the Ravens operate....say, Rex Ryan, Ed Reed, and Tyrod Taylor perhaps? Then give them all offseason to plan. Then another coach, Hugh Jackson, very familiar with the Ravens (especially Flacco), in their home opener. Then put the Ravens in a place they have not won at in recent years, against a Jacksonville team touted as up and coming with their backs against a wall. Cupcake??? hummm. If the Ravens would not have beaten these teams they would be 2-1, 1-2, and 1-2. That seems to be where a lot of teams "contending" are. So....keep your stats haters, the Ravens are 3-0, point differential? Steelers got hammered 34-3, there is a point differential they should explore :) GO RAVENS! CB 25

Why are these people explaining their stats, immediately labled "HATERS?"  I didn't really see any hatred going on.

It's interesting, isn't it, that when Elam dared the audacity to call Megatron "old", he got asll the heat from the complete NFL-scene - but now, when Ramsey does the same to Steve Smith, there is a debate? Even though Elam was much less harsh, itr was just this one remark, while Ramsey was obviously trying to be disrespectful?

It is, indeed.  But I think it's because people generally hate the Ravens.  We stole Cleveland's team, then we had that killer Ray Lewis, then we had that junkie Jamal Lewis, then we had that wife beater Ray Rice.  When I've been in other parts of the country, I can't count the number of times I've heard one of those complaints.

Yea, that's right. Everybody hates the Ravens. All over the country. Seems to me, you're the only one on this site bringing all this Old News up!

As for the Ravens, I believe we are easily in the upper echelon of football teams in the NFL and have been for several years now notwithstanding the 2015 debacle due to various injuries.

2015 the record said we sucked but no one wanted to face us, we really only lost the Seattle game (and that was with ½ of our starters our on IR). I still consider us in the upper echelon for the past decade even that year.

Yea, only lost ONE game last year. Sheesh!

We are better in 2 of 3 phases compared to last year. That has resulted in 3 wins. Now we don't know if the offense will ever live up to its paper billing. Going by what we saw the first 3 games don't be too sure. We have a tepid and unimaginative offense and this may be it. But, as long as the defense contiues to stifle offenses and gets us turnovers, we'll keep winning on the leg of Tucker and defensive TDs. Nothing wrong with that either because none of us have forgotten 2000.

Average Joe is the 30th ranked starting QB in the league. Nothing's changed in nine years. The Ravens have won, despite Below Average Joe's attempts to throw away every game he can. Kudos to the D and STs.

I'm feeling a high number of carries for West, ought to do the trick.

Not sure if that is the answer or not.  Both him and Forsett have similar numbers.  (#s from this website)

Player Att Yds Yds/Att Long TD
    Justin Forsett 24 78 3.3 11 0
    Terrance West 23 74 3.2 10 0

Pretty close. Forsett, eight years older, $2.5 mil a year richer. Who's running this team? Duquette and Showalter?

If Trestman can get the run game going to complement what Flacco is doing passing wise,we'd win this game by atleast 10.

I think the problem with the run game is more a O-line than Trestman problem. Although, once Flacco started throwing the rock around more it did open up the run game some.

The problem with the run game is Forsett. Go with West, Allen and Dixon. JF is making WAY too much money for his production and age.
Save some $$, and let the guy go get all the social media face time he needs for himself and his family!

  8. Well at least they were able to stick with it just enough (about 25 carries for 80 yards each game) to keep the Bills and Browns off balance just enough, and to eventually run some time off the clock. 3.2 yards a carry probably ain't gonna cut it for the whole year however. At least it's not like in '13 when they couldn't gain a stinkin' yard most of the time, and just abandoned it several games. I think with a little more time together the OL should only improve. Also, I'm no coach, but seems like the call the run in obvious situations.

  9. Joe is Joe and after 9 years, I'm not sure we'll see too many wholesale changes in his game. The whole team needs to play 60 minutes, it's just the way we're built. Joe isn't going to win many games by himself like a couple other QB's can do but if everyone around him is hitting on all cylinders, we'll win more than we lose. This last, come from WAY behind win, will go a long way in building our character and Jacksonville will put even more pressure on us this week so we'll see how we respond. It's all bumps on the road to the playoffs that builds a winning team and I believe we'll continue to grow. Our schedule is actually built for that kind of a season this year. Let's hope we can take advantage of it.

Yeah, same old, same old. Joe is right at his career rating avg. this year, at 84.5. Every time there is an article like this, Joe tends to lay a giant egg. And Jacksonville is just the place to do it.

The game against Cleveland was a trap game and we escaped with a W. The game against Jacksonville is much more than that. We are coming off two weeks where we struggled generally speaking. The Jags' backs are against the wall and they're going to be playing for their lives. There is enough tape against Baltimore that can be exploited as does Baltimore against Jacksonville. It'll come down to two areas finally. The first is coaching and game planning with adjustments. Second is our offense and defense playing like they're capable. If any of these two areas is lacking we will most definitely lose. So, its really up to us to win this game. Because this is the game that'll truly define our season and our young players' confidence.

The Browns backs were up against the wall as well. They certainly did not want to go 0-2. That was a huge game for Cleveland and they were at home as well. RAVENS WON! Not worried about the Jags this coming Sunday. Their defense is garbage and Bortles has been mediocre at best. I like our chances. Must win game or not.

    Just bad karma, man.

  11. Personally, I think Pryor knew exactly what he was doing, and it backfired on him. There were two refs right there he could have handed the ball to. And he could have tossed the ball ANYWHERE else, but HAD to drop it on Webb. He doesn't realize it yet, but Pryor has been pulled into the NEW BROWNS ZONE. Not unlike the Twilight Zone, he and everyone else who has had the misfortune (Kruger, Gordon, etc., etc., etc.,) to play for the NEW BROWNS are sucked in and DOOMED forever. Significantly due to the awful karma the NEW BROWNS fans ooze, (see Bottlegate, the Will Hill return, etc., etc., etc.) But MOSTLY due to the curse of Modell. Until those braindead fans and media heads in Cleveland learn to make it right by Art, they are DOOMED to NEW BROWNS ZONE forever. Hey, it's no secret why it only took 18 yeas for the NEW BROWNS to become the worst franchise in NFL history!

The Perriman watch continues. He caught TWO, yes TWO passes last week, and now he is hobbled again. Yet, the media has him growing in stature by leaps and bounds. He has done nothing to warrant praise but all we read about is blah blah blah, how fast he is. By the time he gets back on the field, if he ever does, the media will have him beating out Usain Bolt.

Dude, stop hating on Perriman so much. I wonder do you feel the same for Chris Moore. He only have one reception for 13 yards. Are you gonna hate Chris Moore just by having one catch and call him a bust? What about Steve Smith he only had 19yrds receiving are you gonna hate that too? Give the guy a chance. The awesome catch from Perriman for 35 yards was a good start for him and he will continue to grow as a player.

Dude, why you always telling everyone what to do? Everyone is entitled to their opinion whether you feel it is warranted or not. Actually, you're pretty much proving his point. You're heaping praise on the guy for one catch in two years. Hey, I hope he turns out to be the next Jerry Rice, but you can't ignore the facts. He gets hurt every time he plays.

  13. Well, the good news is that it won't take much to have a better running game than that pathetic excuse for one we saw against Buffalo. The bad news is the same line who failed to open holes for our backs are in there again this week. Besides the nonexistent running game, they are going to get Joe killed. What is the matter with Pees? If his quarterback has no time, no pocket, and no protection, why not have him misdirecting and rolling out instead of staying put and getting hammered? Is it just me folks?

Trestman? I've seen many a game where the offense was a lot more pathetic than last week. They DO have a QB, RB and two WRs coming off serious injuries. As well as a TE who hasn't played in two years and a couple rookies protecting Joe's blindside. Let's face it, you're not going to get much more than that out of average Joe. 250 yards, 1 TD, no turnovers, (although he gets credit for a fumble, that was not his fault) and no jump balls turned into another pick six, thank God. Let's see how they do with a little more playing time together. It would be great, if they could put another 50 or so yards up on the ground. They DID show some improvement as the game wore on. Ran it in the fourth quarter, when the Bills knew they were going to run.
