If Far Below Average Joe starts, the Purple Kool Aid media will blame his awful play on the OL, the WR, the OC, etc. If Mallet starts and does well, all the aforementioned will be praised. As soon as FBAJ is gone, this team can start concentrating on winning again, instead of cowtowing to a nine year NFL vet, with an 83% QB rating.
Can't wait for all the articles during the 2017 camp, that say, "Greatest targets Flacco has ever had to pass to." It will be there, guaranteed. Go back the last four years. It's ALWAYS there. And, of course, after another blown game by FBAJ, article will read, "Flacco's poor play due to Offensive Line." That is also ALWAYS there.
Hope they bench him for Mallet and see if the chemistry is any better. Still time to trade Flacco for Joe Thomas or another veteran center/Olineman and get some value before they all figure out he is garbage.
Perhaps it is some fans who are garbage. Think about it. We wouldn't have won the SB or won numerous playoff games if not for Joe. Some fans are never satisfied. Just think we could have a Fitzpatrick or someone like him.
I hear ya. I won employee of the year five years ago. So I decided to work like crap the next four years, live on my laurels, cost the company greatly and get paid handsomely. Oh wait. That's not quite right. I got my butt canned. Perhaps my bosses are garbage.
I like this Ravens Defense it's the Offense that leaves them hanging time and time again! Three game winning drives and the Offense came up "SHOTE"! Missed a 1st down against the raiders and a wide open Mike Wallace against the giants smh if anything the Ravens should be 5-1!!!!!
Actually could have been 6-0, even with FBAJ's awful play, if someone would have taught Mosely that bowling for touchdowns doesn't count.
I'm sure we will make Gino look like Montana after this game
The D has NOT been the problem. The QB has. Mallet does NOT hope Far Below Average Joe can play, and neither do I. Unfortunately, the Ravens are stuck with FBAJ's contract.
This is where I wish we would have kept Josh Johnson and ditched Mallet. Besides the fact he played better than Mallet this spring, with the O-Line worries, Mallet is no more mobile than Flacco. Johnson certainly could have caused defenses a much bigger problem with his ability to move around and run for first downs. However, had Johnson been on the roster, then prior to today I would have been screaming to get him out there. Especially, since Spags, the Giants DC, was our Defensive Backs coach and he most certainly learned when he was here that if you put any pressure on Flacco he folds like a two dollar bill. That is what they did and that is what Flacco did, However, had we had a chance to put Johnson out there it would have screwed up the whole Giants game plan. Once again, we ended up keeping the wrong person. Personnel decisions are killing us.
Mallet is MUCH more mobile than Flacco. A snail is more mobile than Far Below Average Joe! Johnson? He's a journeyman at best. Who's he lighting it up for now? Mallet had his personal demons. I think he has learned, and needs to get his shot now, before Far Below Average Joe blows the Ravens fourth season in a row.
Love coming to these articles and seeing all the geniuses who know exactly the one thing this team needs to do to win!
Keep on posting - I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the NFL teams realize all the GM and Coaching help they need can be found right here on this forum!
IT's NOT one thing! It's a myriad. And yes, there are many here who know what they are talking about. And then there are some, who just can't tolerate anyone with an opinion other than their own.
Hey, I've seen this exact same headline for the last six weeks. Only the "start winning again" was missing the first three weeks.
Harbaugh's psychobehavioral fallacy.
That's how this stretch [these two years, plus the next couple] will go down in history.
To think that goodnatured, square, solid guys can be taught to be champions is a myth - like thinking that any very good horse that doesn't throw you out of the saddle can be taught to win the Preakness.
This causes two things:
1. We draft less gifted/talented players
2. We ask too much of them - hence the injuries
[though I still think the trainers should try something, anything: gyrokinesis, crosscountry skiing, shamanic dances, mindfulness, MMA, scubadiving... herbal teas... it can't get much worse than this!]
"Genius and unruliness", we say in Italian, go together. Embrace that.
Well, WE used to say "Godliness and cleanliness" go together. Don't think either saying can help this brittle group. How 'bout a daily "Sham Wow" massage?
I'm sorry but Joe Flacco is our Tony Romo let Mallet start and we will win this Sunday and more! Look at them cowboys now and that can be us but it will be the same old pointing fingers at everyone else but Joe! I'm sorry I really like Joe but it is what it is! If we don't win Sunday it's time for a change!
You're close. Far Below Average Joe is not, and has never been anything close to Romo. And it was time for a change three weeks ago.
As I expected, nothing will change with this OC. Let's see. Up 10-0 in the first quarter, first and ten on their own nine. Thanks to another penalty. First down; West for seven. Second down; Flacco sacked. Third down; pass complete for -3 yards. There's just nothing there. I hope Biscotti is true to his word, and gets rid of Self Righteous John and Far Below Average Joe at season's end.
It's really interesting that the drafts in the 4 years since the SB have been worse than any other stretch in the team's history, and this with only ONE winning season in that span. That leads me to believe Harbs is exerting his influence more as a SB-winning coach.
My head hurts just trying to understand what this means and how you came up with it. Ozzie is ultimately responsible for the draft. Yes Harbs gets credit for a SB. So does Flacco. The former, in going for it on 4th down again, conceivably lost the game for the second straight week. The latter is working on getting our new OC fired.
Actually, ridiculous calls in THREE straight games, cost these losses.
Wow. This guy's gotta quit wearing his purple glasses at night. What a joke. The reason Trestman is gone, is because the Ravens are stuck with Self Righteous John and Far Below Average Joe.
I would like to know when this is going to fall on Harbaugh. Yes he has an offensive Coordinator BUT you do NOT Abdicate the task of running the offense to him, you DELEGATE, the difference being, you stay involved helping the OC achieve success. If I am the Head Coach, I am participating in the game plan, the plays we are going to run and if the team is going bad, I will set out exactly what I want from the segment that is under performing.
Harbaugh acts like he stands back and lets something fail and then throws the Coordinator under the BUS. I would not work for someone like that and I do not believe that is solid leadership characteristics....Hate to point this out, Objective, but I don't think you're being "objective". Unless you are unusually better connected than the rest of us posters you don't know whether Harbs didn't do exactly what you are suggesting he didn't do.
If that's the case, then Harbaugh should be gone! Which he will be shortly, cause they can't get rid of the real problem.
"He is going to have to put his foot in the ground and drive the ball to some guys, and some guys are going to have to make the catches.”
This is the struggle of the entire offense. Joe can't put his plant foot in the ground when the defenders are collapsing the pocket and he's being pushed backwards. And Aiken, Wallace & Perriman are dropping too many balls. Aiken catches that ball against Oakland and Tucker kicks the winning FG. Perriman gets his feet down or Wallace makes that catch and maybe that's a win as well. Winners make plays.how is every other qb in the league able to throw intermediate to deep throws, but flacco cannot? surely there are not 31 great offensive lines giving everyone perfect protection and we are the only team not. we are leading the league in pass attempts or at the top. flacco just has no awareness or escapability to find a dead spot when rush is oncoming, like every other qb. he has never had that quality which is why he fumbles a lot when he is sacked. he throws some excellent passes, but more often lately he is bailing out and throwing inaccurately and it is not just because there is pressure, but that he cannot escape or evade it. that is a flacco problem.
I don't think anything you said here is remotely accurate. Flacco is one of the best intermediate/deep throwers in the league. "Every other QB in the league" doesn't consistently complete passes down field with no time to throw and wrs who can't get open or catch. In fact, none of them do. Did you see Brady when his o-line was struggling and Gronk wasn't healthy? He was literally one of the worst QBs in the league, even though he had Edelman, who can get quick separation. Flacco has no one who can do that. You are also dead wrong about Flacco's pocket presence and awareness. Aaron Rodgers fumbled as many times in one game as Joe did has all season. Flacco is leading the league in pass attempts and gets pressured and hit more than just about anyone, yet there are other QBs that are fumbling and getting sacked more than he is. Even one of the CBS broadcasters mentioned how great Joe was at avoiding sacks. He is avoiding the pressure when he can, and he usually protects the ball, but you want your QBs eyes down field, and when you have an o-line like we do, anybody would get caught with an unexpected shot from time to time. If Joe didn't have great awareness, he would probably lead the league in sacks taken, because the line has been that bad. Despite all that, Flacco's stats throwing the ball down field would still be pretty good if the wrs would catch the perfectly thrown passes that hit them in the hands.
The excuse machine rolls on. Nothing you said here is a fact. To even compare Far Below Average Joe to Brady or Rodgers is ridiculous. Run along and mix up your next batch of grape Kool Aid.
feel sorry for WEDDLE,could of got a ring with PITTSBURG if he went there.
Ya know, you can type more than one sentence into a comment instead of typing 5 separate post.
Anyway, who's the "only guy getting open" or cares? SSS, Pitta, Wallace?
I'm thrilled that weedle went with us and I'm not ready to crown the Steelers yet
Who the heck is weedle? And I think most commenters know they can post what they want, when they want without YOUR advice.
Since Ray Lewis retired in 2013, the ravens have gone 26 and 27 and the Ravens are on their 5th Offensive Coordinator in less than 4 years, Cameron (dismissed 12/10/12), Caldwell (dismissed 1/1/14), Kubiak (left 1/18/15), Trestman (dismissed 10/10/16), and now Mornhenwig. Maybe the problem extends beyond the OC position. Maybe, just maybe, John Harbaugh has no idea what he's doing. In 8 plus years, he still can not manage personnel, the game, or the clock. He is pretty good at doing press conferences and telling us they they need to get better.
I wish someone would throw tons of money at me for mediocrity.
Bingo!!!!! The big WINNER! Self Righteous John has become as big an egomaniacal bore as Showalter! Blame falls on everybody else, after every ridiculous, pathetic decision by these two dictators. They both go through coaches like Far Below Average Joe goes through AWFUL passes!
Well, Self Righteous John and Far Below Average Joe, were able to make Trestman the scapegoat. If a nine year head coach can't have some say in the plays that are called, or a nine year veteran QB, has NO CLUE how to audible, then Trestman should consider himself LUCKY to get off this sinking ship while he can. NOTHING will change this week. It's a shame they're wasting a lot of GOOD D!
Winning teams have players who make clutch plays when the game is on the line. Unfortunately, the Ravens don't have any. When the D forces two turnovers inside the red zone and you come up with zero points, you lose.
Bingo! Two TO's in the RED ZONE with ZERO points. But nothing to do with Self Righteous John or Far Below Average Joe. All Trestmans
fault. Obviously need a new OC. Just like everyone wanted Pees run out of town. Far Below Average Joe can do NO WRONG.
No one should fault Mosley, he was trying to make the most of the play...which is more than can be said of many other players on this team. If we had a functional offense, perhaps he would have opted to step out of bounds and let the offense punch in the routine TD. We all know, our offense would have likely settled for a FG even from that spot. Hence, I don't blame Mosley for going for it...just had a bad break. I can't even believe Harbaugh had the temerity to call him out for it...then again he's proven to be a master of deflection in his regrettable tenure here.
YES!!! He is not a selfish player at all but knew that was the best chance of actually scoring a TD.
Well, someone should teach him that rolling the ball into the end zone is NOT a touchdown.
Some of the decisions are so baffling it's 3rd and 9 near the 20 yard line, rather than let Flacco throw the ball and attempt a first down or Touchdown. We run it on 3rd and 9 essentially settling for a FG (right...) wrong! Then we go for a fake FG, now I don't understand the flawed thinking that 3rd and 9 was too long to attempt a pass with our QB but 4th and 11 was just perfect for or kicked to try a fake FG pass?
Setup dump off passes to Gilmore the least athletic TE on the roster, but no WR smoke screens, crossing patterns to WRs.
Commentators talking about how the man to man coverage is locking everything down, meanwhile WRs running 7 yard routes and sitting. There isn't any downfield complementary routes that draws defenders away creating passing lanes.
If teams are playing man all day put some WRs in motion, to create spacing in those underneath routes so WRs can be hit in stride..
...and when Harbs was asked about the decision on the fake FG he seemed angry to be asked. Shows you his ego got in the way again. Clearly, that was bad play selection and he gave up 3 points. He gets a by for the rest of this season but Trestman goes at the break. I think they lose one of the games @ NJ. It they finish out of the playoffs, Harbs has had it. A question, is Flacco on the downside already?
Harbaugh is turning into Showalter. Winning be damned! They're going to stick to their egomaniacal guns whether it helps the team or not. If a ridiculous move, (like ignoring the greatest closer in MLB, or the best kicker in the NFL) doesn't work, they can blame everyone else. If it does work, (which it never does) they can bask in the light of their self importance. Basically, Self Righteous John cost the Ravens the last two games along with Far Below Average Joe. The answer to your question is NO. Far Below Average Joe never had an upside.

Well, that I don't know. But it seems pretty juvenile to get on air and over and over again state how much you hate Brady. Why?

Then DON'T be one.

TYPICAL! When someone disagrees with you, they have to go root for another team. As far as I can tell, this is still America, and people have a right to voice their opinion. And as much as it pains me to watch an ingrate like CK make an Butt of himself, he's got the right. By the way, If FBAJ continues to play like he has the last four years, he IS going, contract or no. Too much pressure on Ozzie to keep this statue in place.
