We need more impact players. We have to many roster fillers. Unless we score 40+ points per game this could be a very average season which is what you get with a lot of average players.
I hate to say it but l agree with you. It's gonna be an average season. Maybe we will get like a 9-7 or 10-6 to squeeze a playoffs at most. Until John realizes to get rid of Dean Pees the defense won't get any better. If we had like the 2011 Ravens defense or even 2008 this team could be a 13-3 easily due to the easy schedule we have this year. The schedule is easy, but the Ravens will make it difficult than it already is due to lack of play on defense.
You guys could be right about our poor chances of success this season, especially considering some of our disappointing play on defense so fat. But there's the other side of the ball to consider - our opponents during the real season. We have one of the weakest set of opponents in our schedule, especially through week 11 except for the Steelers at M&T. Not saying it is likely but we could be 7-0 by the time our bye week comes up during week 8 since our opposition will supposedly be so weak themselves. Not exactly a compliment to our team, I guess. But hey, a win is a win.
7-0 huh? Well, that would be nice, but you know it ain't gonna happen.
The only team the Ravens play, who had a worse record than B'more last year is the Browns, and they have their struggles with them. I'd be happy with 4-3, and still in the playoff hunt.
Ravens starting D has gotten schooled by Newton and Luck. Not looking good.
How can ONE team have NINE CBs who ALL stink?
Some people just complain for the sole purpose of complaining! They hate like Haters but get an allergic reaction when they get called so. Thus, I won't call anyone out by name but you know who you are.
I remember not too long ago people were complaining about SSS's arrival and how he's washed up (keep in mind we had burners in T.Smith and Jacoby). SSS plays well and all the hate goes to Torrey.
Not too long ago people were calling for a first round WR. The Ravens were drafting late in the first and got the steal of the draft. It happens to be the guy got hurt. Out come the haters. Even when we hear good news the hate continues.
Not too long ago people were saying we need an insurance policy in case Perriman gets hurt. We get M.Wallace. The best option we could get! And the haters come out of their caves and continue to hate.
The same goes with our TEs. We have a pro bowler that took a 4mil dollar paycut. A second and third rounder that are developing beautifully at their pace. We bring in a Vet that had his best season just 6 months ago just in case injuries cripple us and haters are still hating!
I only have one thing to say.........
Zip it! This is the best group of pass catchers we have ever had in Baltimore so get on board or jump off. This ship is sailing with or without you.
Ravens all the way!
The "STEAL of the draft," huh? Shouldn't the guy have to play at least ONE down, to justify that nonsense.
Looking at the comments, if I was Perriman, I wouldn't be in any hurry to come play in front of fans like this. These are the ilk that booed Hyun Soo Kim with the Orioles because "they" didn't like that he didn't go to the minor leagues, yet he leads the team in average. Seems he knew more than most (which isn't too hard with fans like this). Same will be true here. These same haters will be on the bandwagon, just like they did Kim, when he goes out and shines and proves what he can do. I am satisfied to wait for that to happen. I just ask that they put him on the PUP through week 6 and open that spot for Jeremy Butler or Keenan Reynolds. I prefer Butler, but that is Ozzie and John's choice.
Yea. Well, at least Kim shows what he can do, because he actually PLAYS.
I hope Weddle stabilizes the back end of the defense. Seems like he's right at home in Baltimore. Three Pro Bowls is nothing to sneeze at. Didn't know much about him other than him getting hit by Boldin on the 4th and 29. Apparently, he enjoys laying people out himself. Could be a great underrated NFL signing this year.

Move to Maryland.
Over/under on games played this year. Gilmore 5. Campanaro 3. Perriman 1.
Webb is by far their best PR, but I guess they don't want to risk it. I'd give it a shot. He'll probably get hurt playing safety anyway.
SiZZZZZZZLLLLLLEEEEEEE!!! I AM SHOCKED HE IS BACK BEFORE DOOM!
Taliafarro is as good as cut now. He may be able to beat Buck out, but one of them will be gone. And as far as Perriman goes, he is a Unicorn, Big foot....I hear about it , people swear they exist, but I never seen it.The interesting question, if our RB's continue to deliver is whether Forsett could be traded for a nice loot. That 1,366 yard Pro Bowl season is a nice calling card... It would be great to have him in purple - but if he can be converted for a good draft pick or two - or a good player for a position we are leaner on, that would be great too.
No team is trading two good draft pics for Justin Forsett. Nuff said.
Probably right, however, cutting him would at least save a few bucks.
Surprised Taylor has done so well with the Bills. He was not good with the Ravens. Guess he just needed a chance. Hope TT, Rex and the Bills pummel Carol, Chick and the Patsies this year.
Now way, five RB's. Total waste of a spot.
Hideous!
Hideous.
The drooling over Average Joe on this site gets a little cringe worthy at times. Yes, he has a ring, got it. We all root for every guy on the team, so the Ravens can win. Yes. But right now, Jump Ball Joe is the 25th rated QB by by pundits and peers, which is about right. A lifetime 84.7 rating after eight years, isn't even average, It's poor. It's just the facts. I root like heck for the guy, so the Raven's win, but let's face it. If it wasn't for some divine intervention on a fourth and 29, and a 70 yard wing and a prayer heave, he probably wouldn't even be on this team now. I guess everyone is worth what someone will pay them.
Mark this down, Joe will pass for almost 5,000 yards this year! He has a wealth of talent around him and we have the same offensive coord. for 2 straight years, which is going to make this offensive unit outstanding.
HAHA!!
1 hour ago, Popeye the sailor man said:If Flacco going to avoid the pre-season games then he'll never be ready for this season, another dismal year coming up, opposing pass rushers will smother him, what other QB do we have available....A Brady or Roethlisberger or even a Rodger he's not.....
Well, you just named the three best QB's in the league. We know Joe will never be close to them, with his 84.7 lifetime rating. I believe he was rated no. 25 QB this year, which seems about right. However, we've seen he is a serviceable QB though, and EXHIBITION games are pretty much worthless. He's played in them for eight years, and it hasn't really improved his play during the regular season. Maybe if he skips them this year, he could actually have his first Pro Bowl type season.
Over/under on downs played by Campanaro this year. 10.
Over/under on downs played by Perriman this year. 1.
8-8 until they (hopefully) prove themselves a more formidable team.
16-0 until proven otherwise. we may go to the Superbowl Mr. Bruce.
8-8 is a stretch.
I think the ravens are very real SB contenders this year, but we need a few things to go right on both sides of the ball. On offense we need, Joe back to form, SSS to come back and put up decent numbers and still be able to make a few big plays a game, Perriman to actually get on the field and be the player we thought he was when we drafted him, and good play from the oline to protect joe and effectively run the ball.
On defense we an overall better performance from the secondary, more turnovers and a solid passrush attack.
If those things go right or at least 90% of them go right, the sky's the limit.I was starting to think I was the only one with Super Bowl hopes this year. It doesn't hurt at all that Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are missing key players for part or all of the season too (Martavis Bryant, Le'Veon Bell, Tyler Eifert, Vontaze Burfict). I'm 100% expecting a career-year out of Flacco this season with all the weapons he has. The left side of the O line is a little worrying, but the Ravens seem to have a lot of confidence in Stanley at LT, and they sure as hell know better than me or anyone on this board, so I have a lot of faith in him. Our early schedule is relatively weak as well, 8-1/7-2 to start out the season certainly isn't out of the question if a few things go right. It's that late stretch of tough games that will make or break us. Joe has proven time and time again that as long as we make the playoffs, we'll always be Super Bowl contenders, and in my eyes this offense is better than the offense that won Super Bowl 47, so I'm very excited for this season.
100% career year out of Flacco. Uh, yeah right. 8-1 to start the season. Sure. Why not, they were 5-11 last year.
Great. Maybe he'll EARN that money.
C'mon man. It's been 23 hours since we had a story about Tucker. Could we please have another SOON. Like where he's eating for breakfast today, or what his favorite color is? PLEASE!
I see no concern or value talking about running backs this season. The other article posted info about the new left side of the O line this year so even the best running backs in the NFL will have a hard time getting yards.
There's a team down the road called the Redskins.
I suggest you follow them if you are so disenchanted with our team.
Well, one thing's for sure. The Skins have a lot better OL and QB than the Ravens!
Six wins will be a stretch.

Lame/negative comments, huh! So, basically, everyone who disagrees with you? I wouldn't hold my breath about Perriman.
