  1. I think a lot of people are also upset that we picked a CB in a deep class of corners.... while you had OJ Howard the best TE in the draft sitting there. This team historically has not helped Joe Flacco with perennial offensive playmakers as much as they should've. I wasn't excepting them to trade up for receivers but when a big TE falls in your lap, it makes sense to take him. Then what makes it worse is when Harbaugh starts gushing about the special teams ability of Humphrey. A 16th overall pick for a special teamer? Yeah. I get why fans are upset. Let's not demean them for feeling that way.
  2. ^^^ THIS!!!! doesn't take a genius to know the ravens have slipped in recent drafts. let's not be a homer in the face of evidence
  3. hope he can last that long, if so that'd be a nice move
  4. so by your definition of a moron not acting classy, you'd say the same about Flacco after he started cussing out in front of cameras after the Super Bowl. Let's not inflate expectations for some people and not others
  5. exactly - some people just want to inflate things cause they got nothing better to do
  6. and the browns picked up peppers... ugh. Goodluck to the Ravens offense.... Steve Smith Sr can you please come back?
  7. I don't understand why people are making excuses for the Ravens horrible pick. Even the front office admits he is still raw and won't be an immediate contributor. But for months they were touting about getting an "immediate impact, playmaker, game changer"....
  8. he's not punishing WR's at the line if he's not starting right away, and working more special teams than anything else. He'll be punishing gatorade on the sidelines if that's the case
  9. yep, if this turns out to be Elam 2.0, they need to clean house with scouting, and start making tough decisions about Decosta and Harbs influence
  10. lol you got that right, nothing like spending a 16th overall pick on a special teamer right? I dunno what's changed over the past few years of poor Ravens draft picks, but all I know is Harbaugh has been around for them...
  11. nice response, i hope so too!
  12. He won't be catching Ross who'll now be in Cincy. I hope the Ravens didn't get scared by that pick where they decided to reach for Humphries
  13. Ravens scouting has changed a lot over the years. They've been slipping lately. We know how this turns out until Humphrey gets on the field for a year, but recent history + everyone's draft board does not make this pick look smart.
  14. that was uneventful
  15. PICK OJ PLEASE!!!!!
  16. As much as I give the Ravens organization a hard time, I honestly don't see a worst case scenario for the Ravens this draft. They have enough needs they could fill with any of those fairly top tier guys listed, even if no QB's are selected. But we can be sure at least one QB (Trubisky, Watson) will go. We'll have options at 16. Even if Ryan Ramczyk, Forrest Lamp and Cam Robinson, Corey Davis, Mike Williams, Derek Barnett, Haason Reddick... and even OJ Howard are all gone... then we trade back (hopefully just 5 or 10 picks back, not completely into the second round). I think Ravens are sitting at a pretty good spot. Side note - I think this site is too publicly transparent with ravens draft insights. sometimes i like when we know little about the draft and what Oz, Decosta are doing.
  17. This author suggests "...and it works out to be value comparable to a late third- or early fourth-round pick." That's not the comparison though. OF COURSE an early third rounder is better than a late third rounder. The real question is.. is Jernigan worth moving up only 25 spots? To give up a decent starter who knows the system and helps in other ways, like setting up Brandon Williams to rush the O-line. He could've been integral for a deep season run if the Ravens wanted. They may not have afforded him next year but come on, you got a free year with the guy right now, with an improved secondary and Williams back. Why not use him to best of ability for another season. Secondly - 3rd round pick? Given the Ravens recent history of missed talent in the draft, offering up an already decent player to potentially/maybe find a 3rd round prospect who may be better is playing with chance..... and not worth 25 spots ahead.
  18. Hahaha spot on. Flacco needs to offer a paycut.
  19. Dumb move - Timmy J gave them a decent starter who know system and helps in other ways, like setting up Brandon Williams to rush the O-line. 20. Right on. All three cuts sounds warranted for sure.
  21. In other words the slow secondary weak pass rush poor Wr bunch game plan of OC or offensive system are not Harbs responsibility? If not Harbs responsibility , then who is to blame? How about being 31-33 over the last 4 years? Maybe the problem is having a head coach who has so little responsibility in the problems that he is clueless on how to fix them. No I don't think its all Harbs responsibility. We're not playing Madden here. Every team in the league has flaws that every other team tries to exploit. You can't have amazing players at every position. The accountability falls on how well scouts are ranking and drafting players, how much cap we have to sign top tier free agents versus distributing across multiple average players, and honestly just pure luck of how games go. Responsibility is everyones - Ozzie, DeCosta, Harbaugh, Marty, Pees, Position Coaches, and Players. It's not Harbaugh's job to do everyone else's job. Over the past 4 years you mentioned we lost Kubiak to Denver (purely circumstantial), have had some mediocre draft picks, and had little to no cap space. So yeah it's more complicated than any one guy.
  22. GOAT Steve Smith. As a huge SSSr and Ravens fan collecting his stuff, I will say he should retire as a Panther. He has always been their Ray Lewis. If only he could retire as a member of both teams
  23. Firing Harbaugh or losing Flacco would be the dumbest thing the Ravens can do. The secondary is extremely slow. The pass rush is extremely old. The WR bunch is extremely average. Perriman has a steep learning curve and we have no legit playmakers at wideout. CB, OLB, WR. Fix any 2 of those 3 and we will have a better record next year. Also a must - get an OC that works well with Flacco like Kubiak once did. Flacco is not the problem, when he's put into a system that works for him. He's an above avg system QB. Making extreme moves like cutting HC or QB will only push us back onto the Browns level.
