I'm not getting excited about Ubaldo, though I'm glad he did well yesterday. It is just totally different pitching with a huge lead like that. However, I am getting excited about Bundy! I really want 3 out of 4 in Oakland.

Well, most of the conversations on here are useless speculation. Totally agree that brushing back is part of the game, but this was something different and no, we will never know his intent in the 2nd inning with certainty. And I still think he wanted to hurt him throwing at his back because he chose a 99 mph fast ball to do it.

He was sending a message when he threw inside in the 2nd inning. I believe he was trying to get Manny worked up. That was his intention. He couldn't control his emotions the second time and actually hit him. His intention was to hurt him. And if a guy throws 94-95 tops the whole game and his hardest pitch is 99 into a player, it is laughable to hear him say "one got away".

I agree that Manny has a temper and is immature. However, to think that Ventura wasn't throwing at him in the 2nd inning is a bit naïve. Remember this goes back to 2014.
