      There's a difference between an extension and a restructuring. You can't restructure a contract that only has one year remaining without taking a paycut. Its impossible.

      An extension was ALWAYS the goal of the Ngata talks. Never had anything to do with restructuring anything.

      Well, he's already won a SB.

      And frankly, if he wanted to win another, he'd call the Colts, who are in a better position to win a SB AND could pay him more.

    So the last time the patriots won the Superbowl, a record winter was recorded with both the cold and snow, now 11 years later the patriots won the Superbowl again, and we have a record winter. It's official, when the patriots win the Superbowl, hell freezes over.

    Today the Patriots single handedly destroyed the honor of the Lombardi & tarnished its image. On top of that, they have destroyed any meaning that SB MVP held by awarding it to Tom Brady after a 2 INT game. Shameful.

    I think it's pretty telling about our fanbase that we would rather rant and rave endlessly about the Patriots, but hardly talk at all about Trestman and the offensive coaching hires. Why do we complain about another team instead of actually talking about our own team?

      Without Peyton Manning... definition of a mediocre coach (81-79) career record, 4 playoff appearances in 10 seasons.

      And it could be an easier schedule... time will tell. A lot of the teams on our upcoming schedule have major question marks.

      Based on what I see, what QBs are we really talking about here? Manning, Rivers and Wilson? That's even assuming Manning comes back, which he probably does. The rest of the list is basically mid-tier QBs, and ideally we will have an improved secondary by then.

      The defenses figure to be better, sure. But you could argue that the offenses could...

      We also don't have nearly as bad a defense that requires us to even score 30 either. Like I said... 30 ppg offense gets us a #1 seed.

      Why do we have to be a top seed? We only need to win the division to get a home game.

      Heck, at 30 points per game, you're 14-2, which is a 1 seed.

    Obligatory public service announcement reminding my fellow BR forum-goers that a restructure =/= paycut. Brady is getting his money, just changing the upfront guarantee, which can be done when you're on the doorstep of 40.

      Not overly difficult to restructure like your 3rd or 4th big contract in this league. Incredibly hypocritical of fans to expect Flacco to take "less" after he was vastly undercompensated for what he produced his first five seasons in the league...
