  1. Colts have fired Pep Hamilton after his units poor performance leading to a 3-5 start (After AFCC appearance last year). Yet here we are, Dean Pees still has a job at 2-6, Harbs get's too buddy-buddy with his staff, be professional and do what's best for the team

And that would be a myth. Keep in mind that Pep Hamilton was basically the chosen OC by Luck himself, dating all the way back to Stanford. Its amazing how Pep went from terrible OC to realistic HC candidate in 2014 when Luck had an MVP-like season.

Yet the defense sucks year after year (that's Pagano's baby) and they simply don't care about things like Offensive or Defensive Line.

      He's a scapegoat.

Except Pep didn't do that, and you could argue Pees hasn't either. Pep was fired as a scapegoat for poor GM, Owner and HC decision making on that team. He would be fired in the offseason regardless, since most likely everybody else will.

  4. If the Pats are going to lose a game this season, tonight will be the night.

Agreed redrum, this seems like a reality check game for the Dolphins.

Home game, short week... don't see it. Still have to play at Denver and at Jets, both of which I think they can lose.

  6. Drafting Tray Walker and Z'Darius Smith over Stefon Diggs who we had the privilege of scouting extensively in our own backyard *claps* well done front office

yeah I don't really care about all this "geography" nonesense. These are pro football teams with scouts throughout the country. We basically had the same ability to scout Diggs as the 31 other NFL teams did. It means nothing to me that we didn't take a player who went to MD.

I doubt we will be talking about it at all. We pass on stud players on an annual basis in the draft, as does every other team in the league. If there were players we'd be getting angry about passing over through the years, Diggs wouldn't crack the top 50 on my list. To me, the whole "being a UMD kid" is overblown. This is a professional football franchise. They can go look at players anywhere they want. This isn't a regional recruiting game like college.

Doesn't make this team better now.

  9. Has Clarence Brooks ever gotten a shot at Defensive Coordinator? Our Dline has been consistently good since he's been here and just look at some of the players that have developed on his watch. Seems like if Pees ever gets let go during this season Brooks should get interim job.

Sends up a red flag to me that the guy has been a position coach for 11 years and has had multiple DCs get HC gigs elsewhere and was never asked to be a DC at any of those jobs.

  10. Who'd be in favor of an almost complete WR reshuffle this offseason? Of course Perriman is staying on board and Aiken could be a decent rotational piece, definitely not a starter, but who else should stay? Waller will get a chance in camp sure but Brown needs to go, Camp has proven that he can't stay healthy at all, Smith will obviously be gone, too early to tell with Givens and Ross. Why not bring in a piece via FA and couple picks?

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

Perriman gets a roster spot, and probably Aiken. Everybody else will likely have significant competition for a roster spot by training camp.

  11. Good job Ozzie. You got our second best player back. Now go lock up Tucker and get Flacco a more cap friendly deal.

  12. Jason La Canfora reporting we might have interest in trading for Roddy White, love that fit, only question is what we have to give up

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

Sure, but in theory, he's a Steve Smith replacement (relatively cheap at about $3M for next two seasons) and you'd probably only need to cut on guy off the top 51 in order to make the cap space work

Don't think its going to happen though.

The $5.6M number doesn't apply to us, because the Falcons eat all of the bonus amounts they paid him.

His base salary for 2015 is $2.2M, and I believe we'd only be on the hook (cap wise and cash wise) for the prorated portion of that amount.

So if we made a trade for him today, I believe we'd be on the hook for $1.65M in cap hit in 2015

He reported he thinks we would be a good fit, not that we are interested in him.

Was expressing his opinion, not reporting anything.

  15. Should we shop Pitta for a late round pick or in a player trade when he gets back? Doesn't seem to be much room for him anymore, Gillmore has come on strong and both Boyle and Williams have had great flashes.

  16. Well check out Za'Darius Smith! Kid's got speed and good hands!

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

Was impressive, but the second sack was basically a coverage sack. I'll give him credit for not quitting on the play, but I'm generally not impressed when a QB has 5-6 seconds to stand in the pocket and then get sacked.

  18. 3rd round pick for Alshon with the conditions that we work out a long term deal with his agent before the trade goes through. Yeah our main problem is on defense but it's more so about continuity, chemistry, and lack of a pass rush. No SSS next year and Perriman is still an unknown it actually makes sense on our end, just depends how much Chicago wants and if Alshon would sign an immediate extension, probably won't happen for one of those reasons

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

Sure, but you have to consider that the franchise, with multiple holes to fill, may not be willing to part with a very high draft pick and at least $10M a season to fill just one of those holes.

Sure, but they can easily franchise tag him, so its not like there's actual risk of him leaving if they wish to retain him.

      1st round pick... minimum.

Benefits the Bears nothing to accept a 3rd round pick for a franchise WR.

  21. Dear Mr. Biscotti, do the right thing and fire Pees. You stepped in and fired Cam when Harbs wouldn't, and we won The Super Bowl. Step in and save our season from being a complete "lose every game in the fourth quarter" disaster.

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

LOL, another fan generated myth. Steve never had anything to do with Cam being fired, and there is no evidence that he even knew he was being fired until after it happened. It was 100% John's call, as has been confirmed by literally countless people by now.

The idea that Steve fired Cam is as laughable as the alleged Harbaugh "mutiny" that also never took place.

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

I don't see it. He'll likely start 6 games behind everyone else, and based on that alone, hard to see him making up ground on others. I consider it mostly a lost year for Brooks. Any contribution at all we get from him late in the season I'd consider a bonus.

He would play the same position as Jernigan, so I'm not sure how much better that makes this team.

  25. bittersweet about Ngata. He cared about money more than winning another Super Bowl and helping out his team. But he also had an incredible career in B-more happy to have had him.
