Hopefully he stays on the straight and narrow path. Pass rush got a lot younger today, which was our most pressing problem. Our defense is set up to be spectacular. Hope offensive guys fall our way tomorrow, but if the defensive talent is way better, lets keep building up the defense. Another corner and a free safety wouldn't hurt us.
Loving it. Defense wins championships. Let's keep building!
Would have loved to have kept him, but that's just too much money. Hope the guys behind Wagner last year can step up their game.
Hometown discounts only happen with veterans past their prime. Expecting them to not make as much money as they can during their short careers is foolish.
I hope Torrey Smith can come back. More fast receivers is never a bad thing. We'd have 3 guys, Smith, Wallace, and Perriman, who can go deep. The amount of speed we can muster could really aid the running game by getting those safeties to back off. We need Flacco throwing the ball deep again. Without it, we're not going to scare anyone.
Lucky for us, edge rusher, safety, and corner are the three defensive spots we need the most. Let's hope the board fall our way. Go quarterbacks early and often please.
I think if Corey Davis is there, we pick him. The guy is a player with the perfect size to be a #1 receiver. Our offense needs a threat like him. Corner talent in the draft can be found later.
We have a bunch of options. It'll be interesting to see. Corner, wide receiver, pass rusher, and offensive tackle could all be in play. Honestly, I think pass rusher and offensive tackle may be a better choice for the first round due to the depth at the secondary positions, and receiver isn't as high of a priority.
I know we need some new blood in the secondary, but I think offensive linemen early would be just as valuable. Football is won in the trenches after all. We have to run the ball better or we won't be a good team. If corners are going early and often, which could very well happen, I think we should keep our eye out for a couple guys.
Mike McGlinchy out of Notre Dame is a solid run blocker and could be the right tackle we need to replace Wagner. Mason Cole out of Michigan is an option at center to replace Zuttah this upcoming season or the next one.
With Steve Smith gone, he has every chance to be #1. I believe he will. He ended the season strong, and I think it will carry over into next season.
As far as Wagner, the first offer was always going to be rejected. He would be great to keep, but I highly doubt we'll be able to keep him if other teams pay that much for him. Hopefully we can find a good run blocking right tackle.
Jefferson be a huge move. With him, Weddle, Smith and Young, we'd have 4 great pieces and one of the best secondaries in football. They should make an effort to get him. If we could release Webb and get Jefferson for less than 2 million more a year than Webb's cap hit, we'd have solved one of the safety positions for the next 3-5 years.
Williams has to be our #1 effort though. Football is won in the trenches. Any secondary addition, Jefferson or through the draft, wouldn't mean much if we don't stop the run and get pressure on the quarterback.
In this case I would go Quincy Wilson or Leonard Fournette and I'd be stoke about it! Probably Wilson
Interesting you don't have Jonathan Allen in your top 15. Almost everyone has him in there top 4 in mocks right now, but I'm really not that impressed at all. Could be wrong though. I think a lot of Bama players blend in with all the talent around them and it's harder to tell which ones are going to be great pros. A lot of people think they're better college than pro players too. I know a lot don't agree with this, but if every Bama player was available at 16, I wouldn't take any of them. Foster is interesting, but not at 16 imo.
A SI 3 round mock just came out at I'd be stoked if our draft went down the way they mocked.
CB Lattimore round 1
C Elflein LSU round 2
OLB TJ Watt round 3
If those were are first 3 picks. And we signed Marshall or Pryor...things would be be looking up big time imo. I prefer Marshall but Pryor is interestingVery plausible but I think we would need to trade up for Watt.
Watt could go in the late first round. I highly doubt that he'd be there for us to pick in the second round.
How about a good one? I mean...sometimes these questions answer themselves.
Couple of points here. First off, the Ravens don't really want to tip their hand before the draft because it "might" give other teams an idea of what type of lineman they'd pick in the draft and where they might be picking him.
First thing's first though. The Ravens have to figure out what type of team they are. This line proved time and time again with the running backs we have that we are not a stretch to the outside zone running team. This team ran the ball much better when Dixon and West were running North and South with Ducasse (known for always being a road grader and not much of a pass protector) in at RG.
We don't have that shifty/speedy scat back like Forsett anymore. I don't think the Ravens will draft a guy like that in the first round. I think they're looking for the next Jamal Lewis. A guy fast enough, but one that can pound the rock and is hard to bring down. If this is the case, we need some big uglies up front.
I know Yanda wants to go back to RG next season, but I think for the team he should move to LG. RG should either be Alex Lewis (or Lewis at RT if, and I think it is a strong possibility, Wagner walks via FA). I think it is much easier to find a plug and play road grader at RG than it is to find another good LG. Heck, we could put Ducasse back there again and see if some rookie/youngster can beat him for that spot.
I know many people probably don't know this guy or think much of him, but Matt Skura is a guy I think that could make some noise at C. Zuttah played through a lot of injuries last season and if healthy he's decent, but the Ravens better be looking for his replacement like...right now.skura would need to put on some weight. he is listed at 294. birk was 315 and travis frederick from dallas is 318. zuttah is 305 but it shows against good nose tackles when he gets pushed back. zuttah is serviceable but i agree that we need to find his replacement soon
I'd be great if we could get Ethan Pocic out of LSU. He's 6'7", 315 lbs, and could play guard his rookie year then transition to center. Not sure where he's going to be drafted, but if we want to build a big, physical, offensive line, he'd be a great start.
I'm fairly confident in Allen and West. They did a good job. I'd rather a pick be used on any type of offensive lineman. The only exception would be Fournette falling to us in round 1, but that's never going to happen.
why in the world would we let go of PITTA? clearly the best TE we have on the roster... you cant let go of 80+ catches and 600 yards just like that.. especially when steve smith retired... get rid of waller/boyle/Watson ..
Yeah. Let's keep Pitta and Waller(he looked like a serviceable backup) at least. I don't think we'll gain much from cutting Boyle, but Watson has to go for the cap room.
Great pick. Him and Arthur Brown will probably rotate often this year to see how Brown is coming along. Depending on how they play, we may try to trade Daryl Smith and get a player at a need position or a 4th round pick next year.

Run the ball and crush the opposing offense. Do that and we'll be fine.
