  1. ....Nobody would predict Pitta would experience a hip injury that made him unable to play by 30..... I'm expecting Suggs and Webb back.

Unless I am mistaken, Pitta's contract was after his first hip injury. We were told he would be fine. As for Webb.. he says he wants to move to safety... Now we need more corners. I agree Suggs will be back but will he be any good? These factors do not help in creating a perfect blueprint for success.

  2. wonder if the vendetta by the refs is done, they've accounted for quit a bit of what was a horrible season.its wonderful that we don't have an offensive coach transition to make. while i hope that pees goes, with the improved play by the defense i think that his been able to convince harbaugh to keep him. but we can't have multiple seasons dealing with the same costly issues, for example, fixing the secondary, the defense not getting off the field.

So it is Pees' fault when the defense is bad but who gets credit when the defense plays better? As far as the secondary and getting off the field;Ā Is that Pees' fault too?

  3. After three years will the Ravens ever fix the secondary? Will Ozzie save his job with a good draft. Could we lose Eric DeCosta before Ozzie leaves?

I don't know who approved of Webb's or Suggs' contracts. But Ozzie has been trying to get out from them ever since. Add Pitta and Monroe's contracts and Ozzie has one giant hole to did out of. The Ravens' front office is privy to much more information than the fans will know, so we can only speculate. But it sure looks like 2016 will be another year of shedding dead money and hiring more scrap heap players as it cannot afford more.

  4. Flacco will make more in one year than i make in a life time. I hope he is smart enough to leave some on the table so we can afford a couple pro bowl receivers. They can only make him look even better.

The Ravens are in salary cap purgatory. Pitta, Flacco, Suggs, Webb, Monroe... it goes on. And everyone want Osemele to be re-signed. Where will the money come for probowl receivers? Even one? Whether Flacco cuts the Ravens more slack or not, I just don't see it. Ravens will be looking a 2017 at least. Hope they draft well!

  5. On defense go through that list. Suggs is really it. We want to blame injuries but the defense was largely intact. Sadly in a lost season overshadowed by offensive injuries Pees will escape any blame.

Yes, Suggs was the only one. His loss cost Doom some production as well as overall cohesion.

I was listening to the radio and someone who covers the Ravens has already gone on record as saying there may beĀ a "fall guy" for the way things have gone. We will see.

  6. Congrats to the team- this was a nice win. Too bad though that we can't believe every team we lost to this year was the Squeelers, meaning if we played all of our games with the same passion, then maybe we'd have more wins- this is a really confusing win for me. If we played great today against a playoff contending team, then why couldn't we do this all year? Also, I'm going to throw this out there, but maybe we get rid of Flacco and start go with Mallet. We have so much dead money on the books and such bad drafts in the past five years, why pay Flacco 18M a year when we need to fill all these holes? It's not like we're going to get good overnight anyway with all these holes- if we take Flacco's money, then we can sign some better free agents. Preston writes a good article about the state of the Ravens here: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-preston-ravens-column-1225-20151224-column.html

Number 1: Preston is a buffoon who makes his money stirring the pot. If he was truly a journalist, he wouldn't have to resort to always being Negative Nancy.

Number 2: The Ravens owe Flacco a boatload of money. If you think you are going to cut him, the cap hit will hurt more than keeping him without restructuring his contract.

Number 3: Some people you just can't reach. :bricks:

  7. Default factory settings. LMAO. At least respect the fans enough to come up with a believable lie.

Switchgear breakers do have adjustable settings to account for surges in current.... Sort of a hierarchy to keep an order to account for excessive current loads. For example: if you have to breakers, one 400 amp breaker and one upstream is a 500 amp breaker, they are, load wise, too similar and may trip together, creating havoc. We had a very similar issue at the hospital where the electrical contractor did not follow their own contracted study and did not "set" the switchgear breakers correctly. Until the correct settings were in place, we had operating rooms and essential equipment affected by shorts in lighting circuits.

So, it is "possible" he is telling the truth about hisĀ "hit in the gut" feeling. We may never know if it was because of a breaker setting or an order from above.

  8. What happened to that super talented Jimmy Smith we all thought was going to be the next great Ravens CB? He doesn't resemble a top notch CB lately does he? In fact, he's played like he's a consistent liability. Something is going on with him. Either he's trying too hard, or is playing with a lack of confidence or is truly hurt...

If he is hurt, shouldn't he be on the injury report? Trying too hard? Never heard of someone playing so poorly and "trying to hard". That leaves lack of confidence or you left off one; he got paid.

  9. Forsett, Smitty, Daryl & Suggs will be back ! The rest ehh I do think Webby is restructured or gone though. Bohica5

Didn't Webb just restructure? As much as Ozzie doesn't want to kick the can down the road, salary wise, the Ravens are still dealing with cap hits. Suggs is owed. Webb is owed. Pitta is owed. Monroe is owed. And now Joe has to renegotiate, pushing his money down the road and possibly Osemele....

  10. ...Mallett has the skill to play, and maybe getting cut was a wake-up call (no pun intended) to get his attitude in check. If we don't have a healthy QB on the team that can play well, and there are not many sitting around out there, bring in the guy, lay down the law to him, let him play and keep him on a short leash. We all know one thing about Harbaugh and that is "his attitude" will not fly in this organization. I am confident that that was made crystal clear to Mallett.

So you are possibly suggesting the Ravens had to pick the lesser of all the evils?

  11. This is a good move, Mallett is a good Qb, But why release Bryn? Keep Mallett and Renner!! Let Schaub and Clausen go.

Crab Mallett is a good QB? Then why did the Pats release him? The Texans? They desparately need a quarterback and let him go. I have to question why the Ravens would go down this road. A warm body? Big arm? Sure hope Joe comes back 100%.... And on that note.... Where are all the Flacco bashers?

  12. Ryan. You really aren't proving anything...

"The Ravens faced some of the league%u2019s best offenses early in the first half of the year with the Bengals (No. 8), Steelers (No. 2), Cardinals (No. 1) and Chargers (No. 6). The Jaguars (No. 18), Rams (No. 31), Browns (No. 26) and Dolphins (No. 29) haven%u2019t posed as much of a threat."

You go on about why they are playing better. Effort. Discipline. Dominating up front....

When in reality, the last four games have been against poor offenses and some even poorer QB's. Let us see after the next 4 weeks how the Ravens are playing better.

  13. I am cynical enough but watching the officiating makes me think the refs at least, do their best to make the games come down the last play and at worst, have an agenda as to who wins. The NFL had a record number of teams still in the playoff hunt, are on pace for a record number of TD's and are on pace for a record number on one-score games. Yes, this is entertainment, not sport anymore.
