Oh Poor KO. He chased the money and I would imagine if he was really happy with his decision, he wouldn't be crying about it now. He had a choice, stay where you are comfortable and benefit in the long run with another super bowl win, or chase the money down a black hole, literally, THE black hole. Oakland is only surpassed in its failure by Cleveland.
Yea we were really close to beating Oakland last year and this year it should be a cake walk. Oakland is a terrible terrible terrible team. It really is selfish of KO to take the money. Players need to focus on winning Superbowls, not getting paid. If a guy has played in any pro sports leagues at any point in his life time, he set for life. And injuries are never a problem in the NFL. Even if KO does sustain a career ending injury on Sunday, he won't have to worry about is finances because all of the money in that Oakland contract is guaranteed.
Maybe they have a "terrible" defense, but even that isn't the case as they faced N.O. and ATL. Tennessee didn't do much.
I will wait to make judgements after the game. The Ravens have faced nobody except JAX. We will see what the #2 defense in the NFL does against the #2 offense in the NFL.
So. Terrible team? Not a shot. This will not be a cake walk. Rarely do the Ravens make life easy. I'll take the win, take heartburn medicine and revel that they are 4-0.
Even the Mrs was impressed with the blocked kick play. Williams is a beast. Glad to see some of the draft picks paying dividends. Just in time for a nice run.

If any of these two areas is lacking we will most definitely lose. So, its really up to us to win this game. Because this is the game that'll truly define our season and our young players' confidence.
Um, those two areas are pretty much everything. But I agree, they need to play a solid game to win. The Jags will be fired up as this is their "season" if they don't win.
who runs the offense?
Nobody.... and it shows.
6 hours ago, Fastynart said:Our "offense" had 4 preseason games to "get it together" So, instead of an offensive explosion, we saw ONE, exactly ONE pass that made a difference. Other than that, the media hyped speedy WR offense did absolutely nothing all day. Did you catch the Steelers game? Even the Bengals, who almost lost. Both of them had "Offense". Based on what I saw against mighty Buffalo, the Ravens will be lucky to beat Cleveland, let alone Pittsburgh or Cincinnati. Just a pathetic offensive performance. How could anyone say otherwise?
Let's see. The "offense" as you call it, had less than one game to get ready as the QB was coming off surgery. SSS too. Wallace is new. New left side of offensive line. Is it too much to ask for "improvement" each week? For the most part, Cincy and Pitt have been playing together for years. I will choose to wait a few games before jumping off the cliff, but be my guest Fastynart, leap.
Can somebody find out how the Ravens have fared since inception after losing the first game of the season? I'm curious to know because that could be a foreboding sign. This game's criticality cannot be understated.
We are not going to lose...... So I am not worried about that stat.
Amen, Mom
it is a little alarming that our number one running back was able to clear waivers... otherwise the offense seems to be solid.
Vets don't go through waivers - that's why the FO chose Forsett to do that with.
Waivers? I thought he was released. He could have signed with another team but chose the Ravens.
does anyone else think we should go after a SHUTDOWN corner if one becomes available??
To do that means you either sacrifice key parts of your existing team, give up the farm in next year's free agency market or stink ever worse this year than last a draft one.....
I don't see Forsett coming back. He will sign with another team.
At $3M a year? I don't see it unless he reworks his contract.... Just like the Ravens are attempting to do.
Jeremy Butler clearly got shafted by Harbaugh and Ozzie during his stay in Baltimore. No one did more to make this team, and now he is telling the Ravens to stick it. After being offered a practice squad spot with the Ravens he told Ozzie to shove it and instead signed with Tampa Bay's practice squad. I guess he figures if this team is too stupid to recognize talent it is time to move on. I am no big Butler fan and if you look at my posts you see that, but based on his production, even against starting competition, his hands, and ability to get open justified a spot. When the WRs we have couldn't get on the field, Butler was always there and always produces. Keep Hurst who is so bad he got picked up and pushed into our QB causing him to have knee surgery and letting go of Butler is just stupid. I am sorry and I never criticize the coach or GM and am often here defending them here but to say these roster cuts look like the work of an amateur is just echoing the sentiment of not only fans, but people who have reported on the Ravens for years.
I too wished for Butler to make the cut. With that said, is he better than SSS? Wallace? Aiken? That brings us to Perriman and Moore. He isn't going to be chosen over #1 Perriman and Moore is faster and with as much or more upside. I thought for sure he would be the #6 WR. Obviously, he wanted a change of scenery as he was offered the PS again. He is from Sarasota, so he is going home. I will follow him and see if he surfaces in TB.
Oh, and a shout out to Justin Forsett. Great guy, heck of a ball player and I wish nothing but the best for him in anything he does. At least he got his signing bonus. I'll be looking to see where he lands.
Wish Butler had made the squad, but with a healthy Perriman, SSS, Wallace, and Aiken, his playing time would have been nil. Can he still go to the PS? I don't understand releasing Ochi and Brooks to keep Kendrick Lewis. Hope they can bring back Ochi on the PS. That guy can play.
"If" Butler doesn't get picked up by someone else, I suspect he is back on the practice squad for depth. No?
Can someone tell me how Matt Elam made the team? I understand he was a #1 pick, but c'mon. He didn't produce and only looked reasonable around other 2nd and 3rd stringers.... Is he the expendable one when Oz finds someone released?
3 hours ago, n#7 said:Someone would pick him up and keep him as a project. His talent is too good to be passed up and a team like the Patriots would probably bite. It takes time to change but if(when) Campy is injured they're sure going to wish they had him. To have C back in punt/kickoff returns seems foolish given his history of injuries. Let's see what he does this evening and if he performs as this poster expects he'll have a job in the NFL, if not with us then somewhere. Much too early to bail on that type of talent.
The only way Reynolds can go to another team's practice squad is if the Ravens release him. They won't do that..... this year, at least.
8 hours ago, thecommish said:1. Why are the Ravens so injury prone? at this point.... it cannot be bad luck bc we cannot be that much more unlucky then every other team in the NFL. I feel for Ben... SMH (we need to take a look at how we are training and preparing).
My 2 cents. The players need more game speed practice. They need to stop working out in the weight room so your tendons aren't over taxed. During the last contract negotiations, the player's union chose less practice in pads for allowing more power by Goodell. How's that working out for them.
19 hours ago, Halshayeji said:That's what concerns me the most. We have a few "prity good" RBs but we can't call any one of them "really good". I wouldn't be surprised if Trestman just gives up on the runing game. Then we're doomed...
Can't happen. Joe can't carry the team with his arm. That's why the Ravens keep drafting RB's. Other teams have used the "run by committee" with success. Possibly that is what shakes out, but I agree they are doomed if the running game falters. If the Ravens have to pass 50 times a game, we will lose the turnover battle and finish in last place.

For the 100,000th time. This Dennis' and the Ravens decision. Are you mother hen? Say your prayers for him, wish him the best and wish him well.

Jimmy Smith and Lardarrius Webb were shells of themselves due to injuries that didn't keep them out of the game, but probably should have if we had some decent depth. We didn't have that because of season ending injuries to a couple of guys behind them on the depth chart. The safety position was also decimated by injuries and how bad was this secondary last season? How many times did you see blown assignments and guys being wide open 50 yards down the field?
Eugene Monroe only played in 6 games and even in a lot of those games he played he left the game early. He missed game 2, game 4, game 8, and then games 11-16.
Only one game for the Ravens last year was decided by more than 1 score, and that game was lost by 8 points. Every other game was within a touch down or a field goal. You'd have to think that a healthy Ravens squad would have been able to pull off a few more wins.
I am not trying to take a personal shot at you here, but you are confirming what Danny stated. You stated Jimmy and Ladarius were not at full strength. The Ravens did not have roster depth last year as it was evident during the preseason games where other teams' second and third stringers took our backups to the wood shed. We lost 5 of our first six games and the only loss was Sizzle. This team was not very good. Yes the parity in the NFL is real and there isn't a huge difference between winning and losing. That was evident by all the close losses. But the Ravens didn't have the horses (all year) to get them over the hump. Sugar coat it all you want. Vegas has the O/U for the Ravens at 8 wins. That should show you something. Even through Purple colored glasses.
Hey. I'm all for the Ravens beating the Squealers and Cincy. I'm all for the Ravens getting into the playoffs. But at some point, fans need to be realistic.
I sure wish who ever created this site would find a way to put back the likes and dislikes with out having to go searching for them. That was a lot of readers and contributors favorite things to see, who agreed and who didn't. For the record I'd like to give eze17 a big thumbs up for his post today.
I wanted to "like" this post, but I couldn't figure out how,,,,

Well, there is no Waller and no Boyle which means the decision falls to Watson, Williams, Pitta and Gillmore. If Pitta doesn't make it through training camp then the decision is made. If he does, then there is no harm in keeping 4 tight ends, a week before Wallers suspension, people were talking about keeping 5 tight ends. I would like to add that they should be looking at Brandon Williams for some heavy blocking and a sneaky pass or run to him every now and then close to the goal line. Williams is far more athletic than Ngata was and I could see Williams doing one of his dances after he scores. Granted, his dance isn't what makes him a viable TE sub close to the goal line, but his athleticism and his hands make it viable decision. Harbaugh has a tendency to be a bit vanilla, so I hope Trestman feels comfortable enough we see a little something that might confuse an opponent.
Not so sure they cut Boyle. He did play better than second round Max Williams, and he is cheap. Think it's time to move on from Pitta. I know he is a great player, but it's time to let the younger ones a shot.
You want to keep Boyle who can't stay out of trouble but move on from PItta? Doesn't he deserve a chance to make the team? What if he turns out to be the best of the group? Patience is a virtue.
I'm with you John. People can't give you back change without it spelled out for them. Located in Detroit? Now I understand.
Unfortunately I think with Steve Smith being a Raven it hurts his chances of getting into the HOF.
SSS, at his age, accumulating 1000 yards this year would put him in elite company with no other than Jerry Rice. He was on pace for over a thousand last year and did so in 2014. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but at least, back up your "opinion" with some substance.

But coming in this season we have more competition to add with what we already had last season which makes it more interesting! Sad part like someone stated is that we will lose some talented guys, that will end up in other organizations and will probably do good if healthy. Bottom line, it's great to have this type of competition with in our team for roster spots. May the best guys prevail so we can be a better team!
The team was 1-5 with everyone but Sizzle. The team obviously wasn't very good.

That's an interesting remark on Campanaro. I don't think it's especially often that a player starts out getting injured at the drop of a hat, but then gradually losing this "habit".Agreed. I always thought it was the other way around. Maybe his days of playing are over.... Nothing personal, but if you aren't on the field, you are not doing the team any good.

A little Jernigan. A little Williams. A little Sizzle. Boy is going to earn his pay this Sunday.
