The Ravens wouldn't have been able to stop the offense in the Lingerie League today. Pathetic! Don't worry, John will look at the tape and see what went wrong, since he's the only one who doesn't see Pees called a lousy game in the 4th qtr. That's a major reason I love BB of the Pats, he knows when to cut these bums loose....Us? we know how to make a roster look nice on paper with all the retreads in the front and back of the house. Time to root for the Pats or Steelers! Two teams that have the drive to win!!!!
Umm. Unlike you, I will practically root for anyone OTHER than those two teams. BTW, what is the definition of a "fair weather fan"?
The 4th quarter was as bad as I have ever seen the Ravens play on defense in the last 10 years. You give up 240 yards on 21 plays and 3 TDs in one quarter. Who does that? That's over 12 yards pr play The Browns' defense would have put up more of a battle. Horrendous. Everyone wants to blame Flacco when we lose but we put up enough points against the Steelers today, against Oakland and against the Giants to have won all 3 of those games. Every time the defense faced a really good QB (Derek Carr, Brady, Big Ben, Dak Prescott) they got their lunch handed to them They played 8 games against teams with a winning record and went 2-6. I guess when you lose to the woeful Jets you don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
You call Derek Carr and Dak Prescott really good QBs? One is a rookie and the other is average at best. No excuses for this garbage team.
Those guys are not costing their team 20 million a year.
Not yet.
well this offseason it's very clear what must be done. with the exception of a select few (yanda, staley, juszczyk, smith sr.[in the unlikely event he doesn't retire]) fire (or trade) the entire offense. Yep, Flacco included. That whole elite argument for him is out the window.. with his cap hit, and his barely serviceable regular season performance.. he's a liability. Time to rebuild the offense. Actually the defense can use a facelift too. Use the top pick on CB replacement for Mr. Fragile or an edge rusher because Suggs is on his way out (if not this year, very soon) and Dumerville won't be far behind. oh, time for an OC that doesn't suck too.
Yes, I like Dixon and West, SSS is probably gone, the Ravens do not have a #1 receiver, still no reliable corners (unless you want to call Jimmy's part time play reliable), old DE's and Flacco's cap hit is going to start smarting now....
So..... You want the front office to draft 18 or 19 Pro Bowl caliber players? Although they haven't admitted it, they have been trying to get younger and "rebuild" for years now. But with the crap drafts and cap hits, rebuilding isn't so easy. This team is a good 2 or 3 years away from making a true run. Get used to being "just not good enough".
The Ravens' organization can't get out of their own conservative "not to lose" mentality instead of "win mentality". Why would you have your corners 10 yards or more off the line of scrimmage? Is the Ravens secondary that bad? If so, then why were they playing tighter when behind in the first half? The soft zone in the fourth quarter screwed their playoff chances. Way to go. Now the front office gets to stew over their decisions all winter. Hope someone learns something for a change.
Yes, Hester has to be history. We have carried him ALL season and nothing but a little bit of misery has come from it.
Flacco and Marty ARE a good combination... they just have to get on the same sheet of music AND the game plan is Marty and he needs to do a better job game planning... I did not see us exploit any weaknesses but I did see us play to the Pats strengths... that was very disappointing.
If we do make it in the playoffs, there is NOTHING in the game that we to go back too.
How are Flacco and Marty a good combination? Because of the Miami game? Even a blind pig finds a kernel of corn now and then. When NE gives you the run and you still pass, that is either Marty or Joe's fault. Take you pick. I say a bad combination.
Ya, Suggs said as he was leaving the field, "They better hope we don't see them again this year". I wonder why. Is there something different you plan on doing? We'll still have the same coaches and players, using the same playbook so I don't see how they would have to worry about playing us again.
Maybe the Ravens will mentally be ready next time. Maybe Jimmy Smith won't get hurt so Elam stays off the field. Maybe Joe will be "playoff Joe" and make more decent throws. Maybe the Pats won't get lucky and we make more momentum changing field goals. Maybe.....
only trash teams get picked to go to london, its not an accomplishment or a honor, we are offically a bottom of the barrel team and thats why their sending us to london. Youd never see the pats or steelers or any other relavent team being sent to london.
Umm. Pats and Steelers have both played in London. Try again.
The fans have to at the very least, question why Hester was with the team this long. He obviously has lost more than a step. rarely made good decisions on whether to catch punts or not and also rarely seemed willing to give it his all, like he did when he was younger. Fans also have to question why the Ravens stuck with him this long an now finally have made a decision to move on. The Ravens need a new proctologist. Maybe one who can figure out why the Ravens are so conservative in seemingly protecting a small lead, but let Flacco throw check downs 30 times a game. IMO, there is something very wrong with the management/coaching staff. Maybe they don't see eye to eye. One thing is for sure, something is not right and this team probably won't find lightning in a bottle twice like they did in 2012......
"The wise guys say we are a bigger underdog than the brownies this week so there must be a good reason for that kind of betting line."
It's called public perception. Vegas want's a 50-50 split on the money so they make their 10% juice. As long as the Pat's look invincible, they will get points. They get 3 for being at home and 4 more for the way they are playing. If the Ravens had played like they did last week for a couple of more weeks, the line wouldn't be nearly what it is. I read somewhere, where the pundits were stating if the Ravens win, it will be by a small margin and if the Pats win it will be by 10 points..... Ravens need to play mistake free. They can win this game.
Remember when everyone wanted Dean fired???
I'd be curious to hear from any of them and their reasoning. Nothing has changed except the Ravens have a few more good players on defense. There is a fine line in the NFL as even good defenses like the Seahawks get spanked from time to time. Dean is who he is. Let us at least hope the offense continues to grow and take some of the pressure off of the D. Nothing would be sweeter than winning the next 4 games...... and then win 4 more!
13 minutes ago, cobrajet said:Pitta had a great game today. BTW I really believe his knee was down.
And I believe the NFL, when it can on borderline calls, will chose to make the call that keeps the game close or makes it closer. After all, it is "entertainment".
Ray: You were one heck of a football player but sometimes you just don't think. Take for example, who you chose to hang with after SB XXXIV, some of your pep talks and now, going below the belt with your "opinion". Some things are better left in the locker room. How about, while you are rambling, which you have done a lot, stop before you state that Joe wasn't a friend. Even though he won you a SB ring, chump.
Maybe it is good that Joe isn't more like you.
2 hours ago, Fastynart said:OMG, 80 YARDS! Stop the presses. He is the next Gayle Sayers or Walter Payton. Seriously. Ok, he had a good game against a really bad team. He did a lot of things right. In the first half against the awful Browns, the Ravens were the same awful team they have been the last 4 losses. The only reason they weren't in worse shape at the half is that the Browns were more inept. At least they managed to put together a good second half while the Browns were still the Browns. Lets see what happens with Dallas before all this chest thumping starts.
What? The Cowboys are going to be tougher than the Brownies? "If" the O-line was healthy, then I would think the Ravens could give them a run, but with half of an O-line? Flacco better have the game of the year. I thought Big Ben was very good and the Stealers still found a way to lose. 400 yards and lose? Seriously? Joe will need that if the O-line can't generate running lanes. At least the Stealers showed a blueprint for how to beat the Boys.....
So. According to some of the "coaches" on this site and even when West was gained nothing, Dixon was already a "bust". At least come on and post that you were quick to judge and the verdict is still out.
I've watched so much film on Matt Elam at Florida. It's extremely hard to believe that he's a bust. I know he can still play. All of a sudden he can't tackle or cover. We are not asking him to be Ed Reed. Just be a solid safety. I'd rather see Elam then Webb all day long!
Let's hope you are right. If the same guy comes back that was a #1 pick, couldn't tackle and couldn't cover, then please come back and let us all know if you would rather have Matt over Lardarius.
Next seasons starting safeties will be Eric Weddle and Matt Elam
Well you got one out of two.....
It's funny how Hester needs more than just pre game warmups to catch a ball but Flacco can go all week without practicing then miss pre game warmups all together in last weeks game. Lots of gum flapping going on at BR.com. It's like a Mcdonalds commercial where you see this nice juicy burger on TV but what you get from the drive thru is something that's dry and looks like it was sat on. SMH
Nice analogy. Lots of Ravens laughing all the way to the bank.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. Seriously? This is the best the Ravens can do? A rookie can do what Hester is doing and would come at a smaller price tag.
Why do we always have to "coach up guys" or "speed up their learning curve". Other teams get rookies who go out and produce day 1, other than Mosley, we haven't drafted a ready to go first rounder since...since I can't even remember when. We need a change with the player personnel staff. If Ozzie isn't to blame for all these bad draft picks, then certainly the scouting staff we have has to be. And if Harbaugh has input into player decisions, Bisciotti needs to relieve him of those since he clearly has failed at choosing players and coaching them. Maybe he better concentrate on coaching and leave the player personnel side to someone else. I don't know what the problem is with draft picks, trades and free agent signings. We can't seem to do well with any of them when other teams are doing great.
After having a losing record after winning the super bowl in 2012, Bisciotti is going to have to make some sort of change in the person that decides who is or isn't drafted, who is or isn't signed and who or who not to trade for. I say make that the domain of Ozzie and lets see who is at fault. If the problem is corrected when Ozzie is in control of it all, then we know the problem, Consequently, if we still have issues and Ozzie is in full control we know where the problem is. I don't know but we have to find out soon and get it fixed because it clearly is not fixing itself. We can't win when we have players that aren't as good as other teams.
Finally, its hard to be competitive when you are paying a 60 million dollar qb 120 million dollars. He isn't good enough to make up for 60 million dollars worth of players we would have if we paid him what he is worth, not what he earned by winning the 2012 super bowl. Sorry, its a what have you done for me lately league and Flacco has done nothing since the 2012 playoff run.I guess you didn't see Flacco led the Ravens to 2 x 14 point leads over the Patriots in 2014???
And Harbs, Steve & Oz have all said many times that the coach has very little input in personel decisions.
#UMakeStuffUponMessageBoard
In this "what have you done for me lately" league, you tell me. What has Joe done? If he gets the credit for "wins", then he takes the blame for losses. Since the SB he is under .500 and even with an easy schedule, is losing. And if you want to blame the line play, even when he has time, he is throwing off his back foot, hitting his receivers in the feet or air-mailing TD routes. Personally, I don't think there is the motivation in him. You know, like the motivation someone has to win a SB. His Joe cool attitude is rubbing off the wrong way.....
Joe flopped on a play with no one around him and yall continue to blame the O line and the O line isn't throwing INTs back to back! Yall blame the O line l blame Joe Flacco! Sincerely The Troll!
I saw Joe fall twice.... He tripped over his Zuttah because he was being drilled into the backfield the entire game. I guess Joe is going to have to be in shotgun the rest of the year as I don't se Jeremy improving. Do you?
Ray Lewis said "there is no leadership" years ago. And I was right there agreeing with him. But noooooo, if you ask all of our "experts" they had soo much faith in the guys we have SMH. Can we please get Ray Lewis back in the building.
He is gone and retired but we do need to draft those nasties again. The alpha male that steps up and commands not just the huddle but inspires the whole team, keep them in check when they need it, give an individual the pep talk that sends him towards greatness. That we can all agree.
Just as soon as Harbs is no longer the HC. Can't have AMs causing a ruckus in the locker room you know.
POLL for the board: What are the chances the Ravens come out of their BYE like a new and improve team and string some wins together ?
I say 5%If Stanley and Yanda come back along with CJ and Smith Jr. perhaps they can do it. Remember, we have a luxury with an Elite QB except he just needs a little more protection which I'm sure Stanley and Yanda will offer.
You mean after Joe gets his shoulder and knee healed? Those interceptions were bad throws and the protection was sound. Joe is making as many awful throws as good throws. That happens when you throw off your back foot. As for CJ and Smith, this roster has oodles of issues that CJ and Smith can't fix.
This is a "must win". Look at the schedule. Find me 7 more wins with 9 to go....
8 hours ago, Saxxin said:I've seen perfect passes dropped. It's not all about the stats. Joe might be off so far this year for whatever reason but it's not entirely his fault. Some yes but not all. If you want revolving QB's I suggest you find another team to root for. Flacco is the starter. Ravens are stuck with it. Deal with it.
Fixed it for you.

You do understand the Ravens played an easier schedule? You do understand they went 2-6 against good teams and besides Miami, only beat a Squealer team with Ben playing at 50% and a Cincy team with no AJ Green? And if they lose to Cincy next Sunday, I don't see much "momentum" in that. The Ravens have talent issues, salary cap issues, coaching issues and game philosophy issues. I am always optimistic and like most, was hoping for another 2012 year. Unfortunately, the Ravens' personnel and philosophy need major tweaks. Maybe Ozzie and staff can hit a home run in the draft?
