  1. I just hope most of you guys are right. I am not as sold on this signing. He will be 38 at the end of his 3 year contract. I just don't know many 35 year old WR that are still elite in the NFL. 35 at WR is considered a age for retirement. I hope Smith works out.

Elite? Does Smith have to be "elite". Was Mason elite? No. But he was reliable and a mentor for our younger receivers. I have no issues with Steve becoming a possession receiver the offense can count on. No issues at all.

  2. I'm happier to see m.oher sign with titans than I was to hear about S.Smith today. Lol

Hmmmm. Absolute anyone? Maybe Vodka..... Ohler's days as a Raven have been numbered for awhile. His penchant for off-sides penalties killed many a drive. But... Steve Smith fills a huge void. He's physical, both mentally and physically. He has attitude the Ravens have lacked. He has proven his worth over 13 years. Derrick Mason 2.0?

Personally, I'm have no problems with either. I wish Michael the best as he was a great "team" player. He needs the change. As for Steve? This is a 1 or 2 year deal. I expect this marriage to be in both the Ravens' and Smith's best interests.

A win-win for all. Enjoy it.

  3. This just out on API.... Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Marshall Yanda, Eugene Monroe, Kelechi Osemele and Dennis Pitta have changed their last names to Smith. Rumor has it they want the ball to always be in "Smith's" hands. That way the defense will never know which Smith's hands the ball will be in....

  4. So with the offensive line, the Ravens have Castillo (assume, since Harbaugh said he was going to), Todd Washington, and Andy Moeller. You surely can't have three guys in one spot, especially with Dennison being an OL 'guru'. So who goes? I doubt it's Castillo.

Was listening to "The Fan". They were hinting Castillo would be gone too.... "as a win-win".

    I hope they are right.

  5. I, as many here, have stated a plus-1 for Kubiak. He works well with QB's and is the fresh face this offense needed. The last 5 years, regardless of who called the plays was the same philosophy.... with the same sub-par results (Except for the SB run - :-)).

Good hire and good luck, Gary. You're going to need it.
