  1. Clearly my opinion, but I believe Courtney U is a solid player and it would be tough to lose him, I also think his best years are in front of him...... The problems on defense this year did not fall on any one player, but as a whole. They started getting it together at unfortunately the end of the season, so with some experience for the younger players, getting Terrell back, hopefully some of the younger guys will play much better singularly, and as a team.

  2. A class act... too bad it didn't work out.

I agree...... Matt is definitely a class-act, and while his on-the-field play was not what we all hoped it would be, he gave it his absolute best, and if Miami had not been allowed to beat the crap out of him, that game may have turned out a bit better. However, he surely showed his great character by doing all he and J Clausen could do to help Ryan Mallet learn our offense as quickly as possible; they surely shared in the 2nd win of the Steelers along with Ryan. Very selfless of both players, imho, so huge thanks to them both, and the best of wishes for wherever they end up next year :)

  3. We have the BEST FO and owner in the league...... I am one that believes and trusts that Steve is doing exactly what needs to be done, and we have the vast majority of pieces in place to succeed. He didn't become a wealthy, successful businessman by making poor business decisions. Look at the teams that constantly have a large turnover in their FO and coaching, none have been very successful for years. Fans are going to complain no matter what, even if we are winning, so I am more content with minimal changes going forward, and even most players I hope can stay, give or take one or two or three. If next year we are in the same place, then maybe at that time we may see a few changes. This was the year from he!! ALL the way around, so we can only hope it gets better from here. :)

  4. As much as my heart is wanting Dennis Pitta back on the field again, my conscientious opinion is saying we have 3 top notch TE's that can carry on...... Every single one of us fans do not EVER want to see Pitta go down a 3rd time, and without a doubt, a definite end to his career, and possibly much worse. If he tries to go back playing next season, his possibility of going down will be on EVERYONE'S mind, why take the risk...... He will always be one of the best TE's we will ever have, and I may get negged a 100 times, but I think Dennis should retire..... :(

  5. I just want Joe back to 100%, as well as all our other great starters and backups that went out with injury this season..... Nothing would make us fans happier, than to see our team back on top next season...... Continue to heal well Joe, you are one of the toughest QBs I've ever watched play, and hopefully we will see you in September :)

  6. Thank you for this excelllent article Kevin. I have thought many times about how amazingly unselfish Schaub and Claussen were to put the needs of the team above their own disappointment in finding out they would not be starting. I have tremendous respect for our other 2 backups, especially for Schaub and I am sure that they played a part in Mallet getting the offense down enough to get the victory against the Steelers. What a lesson for Mallet in being a team player, to contrast his recent wrong reactions in Texas with what happened right in Baltimore. Two selfless, equally disappointed teammates dedicated their efforts to helping Mallet for the betterment of the team, as opposed to pouting or acting out. Mallet has seemed genuinely surprised and grateful in each of his interviews, mentioning the help he got from the other QBs. I am really proud of Matt Schaub for his selfless contributions to the team from day 1 of the season, always involved, excited and helping where he can on the sidelines. This may be exactly the perfect way to help Mallet learn what it means to be a pro and how to conduct himself. Mallet seems humbled by the graciousness of his teammates and I hope his growth and maturity continue as he sharpens his mastery of the offense and to help him accept his backup QB role with the Ravens. Sincere thanks and respect to Matt and Jimmy.

Very well stated, and exactly my thoughts on all our back-up QB's ...... Also, great article Kevin :)
