Will we draft Howard? Will Pitta be released? Don't get me wrong because I really admire Pitta for staging an uncharacteristic comeback, but he's not a player that is a game changer where he can break a few tackles and get us a TD in crunch time. He is a comfort zone for Joe not because he catches every ball (he's dropped some dollies), but because he's Joe's best friend. 87 catches and less than 600 yards? And his first TD late in the season? Blocking so-so? We need to do better than that! If only Maxx Williams can suddenly grow into who we thought we drafted all will be well.

Maxx set a lot of Raven rookie records for a TE. I think Gilmore is a play maker if we get him the ball more. Waller could be one too as far as tight ends go.

I agree the Ravens do NOT need a TE. DB, pass rush & Lineman(O&D)

  2. Williams is a solid player at the very least and his personality goes a long way in the locker room. 34/35 solo tackles this year and I believe he was in the top 5 for DT's in the league last year and he played almost every game since his rookie year so he's durable. I think he deserves a payday within what the top players at that position got paid in 2016. 9.5 Mil a year, 5 year deal, seems reasonable to me with inflation but when you look at our cap space and our needs, nearly 10 million for a DT seems a bit high for the Ravens to be able to pay and still address the many other "top paid" positions we need filled this year. I'm just glad I don't have to make any of those final decisions. It makes my head hurt just pondering what the right thing to do is sometimes. I can't imagine what it is having to actually make a decision and live or die by it.
That's why they make the big bucks and we pay the big bucks I guess! :-)

  3. actually Dean Pees defense does a really good job until the last 2 minutes of the half and the 4th quarter. We need somebody to instill confidence in the individual players. We need a leader (player) who can do that.

I have to disagree. The players looked to be worn out. His job is to keep them rotating in so they are still "fresh" in the late part of games. IMO he failed badly at that. The rest of the game the D plays strong. The EOG's not so much

  4. Personally, I like DeSean Jackson of the listed FA. And that was before I saw his YDS/REC ratio, which is very good. Guy was an outstanding player when he played under Andy Reid in Philly, and still looks to have some gas in the tank. Rumors are that Philly wants him back, and they are super desperate for ANY WR who can catch a ball, so I could see them overspending, especially considering he was a fan favorite before Chip Kelly basically gutted the Beagles of all their star players. Would be worthwhile to at least kick the tires on him in any case. LaFell might be another player to look at who would come relatively cheap and still have the potential to put up good numbers.

NO MORE SPEED. We need a Smitty move the chain type of player. A Q style.

I think that it would be very difficult for an all world superstar hall of fame player like Ray to be a coach. There is no doubt that he can teach anybody the game, however it would be torture for him to stand there and watch players under perform while he is helplessly standing on the sideline.

Remember Michael Singletary. It just ate him up.

Ruined his coaching career. LOL V. Davis HAH

5-6? hahahah what hahaha... lets start..AFCE: bills...jets...dolphins(if u don't think they would take flacco over tannehil ur dumb)..AFCN: browns....AFCS: Houston/titans/jags.. (DONT TELL ME MARIOTTA)...AFCW: Denver....NFCE: Eagles/skins....NFCN:Vikings/bears......NFCS:Bucs....NFCW:Cards/rams/49ers....if you don't think ANYYYY of these teams would rather have flacco under center than the current one they have then u got issues...

Again calling people dumb makes you sound uneducated. But I will take the bait.

First, no way in the world would LA or Philly trade their new starting rookie QB for Flacco. Too much potential there. Same with Denver.

It could be debated whether or not Joe is an upgrade over Mariota, Winston, Cousins, Palmer or Bradford.

So that leaves the Jets, Dolphins, Bills, browns, Bears and 49ers. 6 teams that would for sure "wish and pray to god" as you said for Joe Flacco.

Look, I know we are all passionate about out Ravens but there is a lot of valid criticism for Flacco and saying that almost 2/3 of the teams in this league would pray to have him is a little bit homer. I'd say a lot homer. Which you have every right to be as a fan.

Just your 2's opinions. LOL I for one like Flacco as the Raven's QB.

  7. The patriots or cheaters have had a very big advantage over the afc for 2 decades because they play in the weakest division in the afc, so they are almost guaranteed 11 wins regardless of Brady, Matt Cassell or even Jimmy G probably.

You can argue the south but those teams are competative and turning a corner, you have 2 possibly 3 franchise qbs with Andy Luck, Marriota and if a Qb whisperer could fix Bortles. Houston always brings defense.

Ravens are the 1 team thats always been able to go into NE and beat them or put up a legit fight.
Gotta rebuild the defense, more pass rushers,CBs, Lbr/S
Beef up Oline and find a couple weapons

I agree with almost all of this post. They push the "red line" so tight that it is like they cannot get caught. It is mind blowing what that franchise has done with BB as HC. Even less Brady they won...

I can't stand fans and media that say we were inches away from the playoffs.
As I remember it we were inches shy of beating Pittsburgh but far from the playoffs. We did completely get blown out by the Bengals the following week. So that's one lose and a few inches away from being tied with the Steelers. Wake up we aren't that close in fact we could be getting even worse next year you never know.

If we would have beat Pittsburgh, we would have beat the Bengals. To lose a game the way we did in Pittsburgh then have to play a game that means nothing is a hard thing to do.

Most have not played in meaningful games. I played LAX at Loyola and let me tell you it affects your life when you lose like that!

  9. Hopefully, having the same OC two years in a row will help the O-line. Now, they don't have to focus on learning new terminology, blocking schemes, etc. Surprised how often everyone talks about the effects on a QB having to learn a new system & terminology but nobody talks about the O-line having to do the same. Blocking assignments are every bit as complicated as WR progressions.

The fact that Roman sees Rex Ryan as a "buffoon" of a head coach tells me that he at least has some sense.....

    Well stated.

  10. This guy's numbers are inflated has always had a QB that runs a lot. This team is getting really desperate I hate to say. I can see Roman and Marty head butting each other every week. Don't like the move.

That is a pretty valid point. Good food for thought. I really do like Dixon as a 3 down back for the Ravens. He will make a difference next season!

  11. what does roman bring to the table? anyone?

the run game was 28th b/c u didn't call running plays, u abandon the run, harb is hypocrite, b/c in press today he seems to blame the lack of running the ball on the players not on the coaches for not calling run plays, b/c whenever we ran the ball we ran it effectivly, but i guess he's trying to convert us to that hi-flying- passing attack that we are not there yet.

He will stress to run the ball. That is a start IMO

fire coaching staff make a strong offer to Pats OC Josh McDaniels for head coach bring back chuck pagano as DC and Jedd Fisch as the OC with McDaniels over seeing everything

McDaniels is a head case. He has significant personality issues that will make him, once again, a failed HC.

So true. That dude is a mess...

Not a Jimmy Smith fan, dont think he would have made a difference in the defense and its decline. That and he cant be counted on anyway,.

I don't like Jimmy Smith getting hurt either, but him missing the 2nd half of the Giants game, the jets game, Patriot's game and the 2nd Pittsburgh game showed he is a huge difference maker thanks to Ozzie not drafting a Quality DB in 6 years.

Umm, serious? Guess Tray Walker and Tavon Young were no good? Unfortunate incident made that number 1, but Young is a baller no doubt.

No excuses to not draft at least 2-3 CB's this next draft and finally fill this glaring need. It is a secondary deep draft from what I've heard as well, best take advantage of what is available.

Wonder what our D would have been like with Tray Walker.

    Sharice Wright ohs better...

  14. The offense was so bad that the defense spends too much time on the field ! You can't blame a top 7 to #1 defense when your offense keeps doing a 3 an out.A 27th ranked QB with a 21st ranked offense causes stress to your defense.
The defense just ran out of gas with two over 30 pass rushers and a prevent defense.

I agree! The D looked exhausted after the 3rd quarter in 6 of the last 7 Games.

You know what's funny, for the last 5 years, I've been complaining about Joe Flacco while the fans were booing me about my comments, so here I am just sitting back and having a good time reading all the cons from the fans about what I've been saying about Joe Flacco, on any other team, I do believe Flacco has a better opportunity to excel into a better QB but just not as a Ravens, he make all the other Ravens look's badddd, never ever did I ever see a QB so cool that he himself doesn't know what he Is..It's time for Flacco to go, there are other teams that will pay off Flacco's remaining years he has left with the Ravens and get another QB in the draft and start over, beginning of every season every year the Ravens are nothing but hype, we're going to the Super Bowl, we're going to win so many games, etc, etc, etc...That's all bullcrap

Joe Flacco 182 career tds. and 117 ints. vs Matt Ryan  240 tds. and 114 ints. 58 more than Sloppy joe

I prefer the playoff game wins and SB victory myself;)
