  1. Michael Oher has signed with the Titans.
  2. Pretty sure 89 is available.
  3. It's not every day you get the opportunity to sign a ultra-passionate football player. That's one of the reasons why the Ravens were so quick to go after him.
  4. It's not every day you get the opportunity to sign a ultra-passionate football player. That's one of the reasons why the Ravens were so quick to go after him.
  5. Steve Smith is a Raven! Yes!
  6. Great value on Daryl Smith's deal. We get him for nearly half the contract Ellerbe got.
  7. Daryl Smith stays with the Ravens with a 4-year, $16.1 million contract, according to Aaron Wilson.
  8. There's a lot where that came from. http://youtu.be/Wyom1TxqlJ4?t=42s
  9. We currently have $17,783,602, according to overthecap, but Aaron Wilson says $15.237 million. Not sure.
  10. Ha, I only learned a couple months ago.
  11. @marshal941 I don't know if you saw my earlier message, but you can quote others' messages by clicking on the time stamp underneath their name. This will bring you to the message board, where you can quote and reply.
  12. You draft for the future; you sign for now. Right player, right price. That's how I see it. If you can get a good, young player at fair price, go for it. In the end, you look at a guy like Steve Smith, who is a prototypical Raven, you go after him because he will help immediately through both play and leadership. You don't come across extremely passionate players everyday. That's why so many players are out of the league after a few years.
  13. Great hit by the all-time great, but look how Smith loves the contact. That's our kind of guy.
  14. Exactly. Historically, have the Ravens targeted young, highly-targeted players? No. They targeted guys that will immediately help the team, regardless of age. You naturally gather youth through the draft.
  15. Jerry Rice retired at 42; Barry Sanders retired at 30. What's your point?
  16. Like I said, he was past his prime. Yet, greatly contributed to the Ravens.
  17. If we win a Super Bowl with him, is it worth it? Nicks comes with a hefty price tag, and he doesn't have the Ravens mentality that Smith does. You don't come across extremely passionate football players everyday, which is why the Ravens are so anxious to snag him.
  18. I referred to Boldin in response to short-lived arrangements with players, not age.
  19. Actually, Clark played in only 12 games and started 0, yet still finished with 31 rec, 343 yards, and 3 TDs. Let me ask, was signing Shannon Sharpe "past his prime" a bad move?
  20. If nothing else, Smith offers fierce offensive leadership. His passion is off the charts. He is still good for 800 yards. A two year contract is something that would greatly benefit the team. At this stage, he knows and has admitted he isn't a #1 receiver, but he also said he would exceed any expectations in whatever role he is given. That's our kind of guy.

  22. Boldin was with us for three years. It wasn't long-lived. Would you say it was worth it?
  23. Don't forget about DeAngelo Tyson. He had a pair of sacks and an interception last year with very limited action. He might be ready to step up.
  24. You know the motto around here: right player, right price.
