  1. I was more referring to paying $10+ million to Alex Mack, when we can still get a good player for half the price (and we did). I think getting Zuttah was a great move. I've only heard positive things about him from Bucs fans.
  2. Birk was a solid player for us during his time here. I just think you can still have a good player at a much more appealing price tag. Historically, the Ravens only give big contracts to their own.
  3. Why would the Ravens pay a center 10m when we have found and won a Super Bowl with a guy like Matt Birk for a million?
  4. I like this move. It's an instant upgrade and he will fit what Kubiak does. Bucs fans only have positive things to say.
  5. Well, if you are going to down-vote me, at least come back with a reply with your opinion.
  6. I have absolutely come to terms that this is not the Ed of old, obviously. But the Ed of current is not as bad as he has been depicted as is all I am saying. When he is in the right system, and he would be with us, he is in a good situation. The only question is if he would take minimum vet salary.
  7. Looking at it from afar -- which is all we can do -- it appears to be medical worries. Missed tackles, burned deep, please provide proof for this. I watch multiple Jets games and he played really well; however, I can't say the same for some of his Texans performances, for which I mentioned misutilization. Interceptions is the first job of a center-fielder, so obviously it is important. Pass defense has always been Ed's strong suit. Ed is a leader and a teacher; he is as smart as it comes for a defensive player, and despite popular opinion, which is likely what you base your view on, he is still an outstanding football player. Is he as fast as a 20 year old? No way. Is he as durable as when we drafted him? Not even close. But for around minimum vet salary, it is foolish to not sign him. We won a Super Bowl with him back there a couple years ago.
  8. Both of you make very valid points about Clark's medical condition.
  9. Well, Ed Reed really is still a great player. The Texans didn't utilized him properly. When he went to the Jets, where Rex used him properly, he had three interceptions in just five games starting. He would have been back in Baltimore at the right price.
  10. I'd equally welcome Eddy back, my all-time favorite player. If he is willing to come back at a fair price, I don't see why the Ravens would deny him. Same for Clark. He's a solid player, and for the right price he should be considered. Forget loyalties, this is about winning, period. It's important to point out that Ryan Clark had arguably the best season of his career last year. When a guy is playing well, you don't just ignore it because of rivalries; he's no longer apart of that.
  11. Ryan Clark would be a quality signing at the right price. Hey, he even came to the Ravens locker room after one of our games; he's been yearning to be here for a while.
  12. I honestly see Jimmie Ward moving to cornerback in the NFL. It fits his size and he has really fluid hips. He seems to be better in man coverage than zone.
  13. Looking at the tape, Pryor has as much, if not more, range than Clinton-Dix. It doesn't matter where he played in college. They also ran the same exact 40 time: 4.58.
  14. I prefer Calvin Pryor over Clinton-Dix in the draft. Calvin plays like a Raven.
  15. I wouldn't rule out a post-draft OL signing. There are some talented players out there still. There always are.
  16. Also, don't forget about DeAngelo Tyson playing a bigger role in our defensive rotation, filling in for Art. He had a couple sacks and an interception in very limited action last year. I think he's ready to step up.
  17. I'd prefer Pryor over Clinton-Dix, personally. It would be nice if Ebron fell, but I doubt it.
  18. I see us getting our right tackle at #17 with either Taylor Lewan or Zack Martin. There's always the possibility of kicking one of them inside and kicking Yanda outside for a year.
  19. I'd rather find another Matt Birk, whom we paid under $1 million when we won the Super Bowl, than Mack who will demand $9+ million. Ozzie finds gems like that. You know the motto: right player, right price.
  20. You are wrong. If the Browns fail to match, they get no compensation. Nevertheless, Ozzie isn't going to pay $10 million for a center. Get over it.
  21. Look at how much we paid Matt Birk and look at Alex Mack's price tag. He will demand around $9-10 million. That's not how we operate. We only sign our own to big contracts. We can find hidden gems.
  22. Joe's cap hit last year was just $6.8 million.
  23. More than just a player, the Ravens are getting a leader, a motivator, a passionate man. He's a prototypical Raven. Glad he's finally on our side.
  24. Will there be a press conference?
  25. That's from the Senior Bowl, I believe. He has significantly slimmed down since. I know a lot of fans dislike him, but he isn't a terrible player. He had 15 tackles last year in very limited action. B.J. Raji had 17.
