I think I just seen the worst mock draft ever on NFL.com. Zierlein had Taco going 6th and Barnett falling 28th to the Cowboys. He had is taking Takk McKinley. Do these people even do their jobs on research or do they just throw names into a hat?🤔

Taco reminds me of Suggs ala where he excels at both stooping the run and getting after the QB. Coverage skills may be lacking tho if asked to play 3-4 OLB.

alex anzalone im guessing. i mocked him to us in my latest mock in the 3rd. i like him as a complementary ILB but with the rumors of the ravens wanting KC at ILB i would withdraw that pick.

Checked your mock. Looked pretty good actually. Really liked your 2nd and both your 3rds. Taco to Pitt man you killing me.

Anzalone is the guy I'm talking about after relooking over roster and your description of him in your mock is spot on and I'm not trusting KC as my other ILB. Those little passes to the RBs have been killing us but there was improvement out of CJ last year in this dept.

people yearn for the days of old where we alternated 6-10 and 10-6 seasons for like 8 years, give or take a game or 2 here and there.

it doesnt make sense. we were less respected as a franchise than jacksonville, our qbs routinely threw for under 2000 yards and double digit picks and <20 touchdowns, and they did this WITH A GOOD OL! its hilarious, its like teenagers who think vintage stuff is cool saying "i wish i grew up in the 50s" yeah because everyone loved polio right?

seriously, why anyone wants to go back to those days so badly is beyond me, we were a joke of a team with a good defense that was susceptible to big plays because we blitzed the freaking house in our base package on a majority of snaps.

ive been a ravens fan since they came to baltimore, but i was 4 at the time, so i wont count myself as a weekly viewing fan until around 03-04. i remember the billick/boller/anthony wright years, i remember organized chaos, i remember watching our defense swarm the line of scrimmage on every snap and you hoped like hell the qb had to hold on to the ball for one more pump, i remember losing to jake delhommes panthers and jake plummers broncos in our 13-3 season because you cant stop a high powered passing attack by rushing 8 every other snap, i remember holding peyton manning to ZERO touchdowns in the AFCDG in our own house as the 2nd seed and losing because jamal lewis couldnt carry the team on his back.

dear ravens fans who recall those miserable days: why would you ever want that back?

dear ravens fans who werent around for those days: trust me, we have it better now.

Remember Jax was good team at the time and the Ravens D was feared and no we was great not good.

Both guys look really impressive and give the Ravens options near the bottom of the 2nd to mid 3rd round. I think they both fit what the Ravens are looking for in said "Complimentary WR".

However I'd caution against getting too carried away from just the Senior Bowl. These two guys may be a pair of the top "seniors" in this draft class but there is a lot of 2nd and 3rd round talent at WR that teams will fall in love with. They did what they were supposed to do and that's shine when given the opportunity to.

We'd have to take them with our 2nd rd pick or we're not getting either. Jones threw the OBJ act out there. Also the kid from Fla with the long hair looked real good in coverage on the RBs coming out of the backfield which we have been sorely lacking. Who was this guy? (Sorry sound turned down).

Packers Associate Head Coach/Offense Tom Clements is leaving the Packers to pursue other opportunities. Mike McCarthy confirms this will be the only change to their coaching staff, so Dom Capers is staying.

Lord only knows why they keep Capers but they gonna be battling for DBs just like us.

Chiefs Director of Football Operations Chris Ballard is the favorite to become the Colts GM. It should be noted Ballard wants to replace Chuck Pagano as Head Coach.

It'd be nice if we can get him as our DB coach with the understanding that he'd be immediately upgraded to DC when Pees officially retires. Maybe even HC lol.

  6. Ozzie usually does a good job drafting talent along the O-Line; the center position since Matt Birk left is the glaring exception (Gradkowski in the 3rd was a bust, AQ Shipley was too small, and Zuttah gets pushed around too much). The question is, do we want to move away from a zone-blocking style line (generally smaller, quicker, more athletic guys) to more of traditional in-line/trap style line with beasts up front that can win 1-1 battles, but maybe can't get to the second level as easily. I used to love watching our line with Ogden and Zeus break the huddle and dwarf the opposing D-Line - it was like men against boys.

Alex Lewis can move to RT if we draft a Guard and Center, and there are guys who were protected by the Ravens by being placed on IR. Tackles Stephane Namebot and D'Ondre Wesley could slide in at RT, or move inside. On the practice squad, Skura has some intriguing upside, and local product Broxton is a mauler at OG (needs to improve his footwork, though).

Not sure we'll keep Ducasse, who has issues in pass coverage. Hurst, Urschel and Jensen are good options as back-ups and should compete for starting roles. Hurst looked rough as a rookie LT last year, but remember that was his first year back after a major leg injury his senior year. Before that, he was touted as one of the top tackles in the country.

Hurst has played 3 yrs for us and is not very good but I would like to see what Nembot and Wesley can bring to the table if Wagner leaves. Kyle Fuller is a guy at C that I like who is playing in this game.

The first half is over, Trey Hendrickson and Fabian Moreau are the guys that are really, really helping their draft stock. DJ and Mayock are loving Moreau and if Hendrickson would show some pass rush moves then he'd be having just as good of a day, he's showing everything you want except his move arsenal seems shallow so far.

Tony Bridges and Bryan Cox are two guys that are playing pretty darn well so far, both keep making solid plays all around. Cox is showing his strength and motor, definitely helping himself but he still sits at a mid rounder to me, 4th or 5th round is where I'd have him right now.

Elijah Maguire when given the chance has played very well, great patience and has a nice burst. Joe Williams has also shown a lot of burst and speed early, but both teams have pretty much abandoned the run, giving me PTSD flashbacks. Sam Tevi is a guard that is clearly a mauler, I think he'd fit with what we're looking for in new olinemen. Gavin Andrews is in the same boat as Tevi. Deatrich Wise has been okay, isn't showing anything that I didn't already know, great strength, got a coverage sack at one point, can be a good 3-4 DE but needs to add mass.

Whitfield from FSU has been busy but overall unimpressive.

Yeah Moreau was impressive and we should double dip at CB and maybe a safety also. Surprized to hear he may go in 1st when this game is usually for late day 2 to day 3 guys. Bridges if he's that corner from Miss yes he was good especially at diagnosing plays. Cox if he's anything like his pop could be a nice LB but hopefully he doesn't have the same personality. Had trouble keeping up with the olinemen since they rotated them out on a consistent basis

Wow...... Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers will go hard after Redskins QB Kirk Cousins. He also says that even if the Redskins franchise Cousins again, they may be willing to part with picks including the number 2 overall pick in order to land Cousins. If that happens.... imagine what Jerry Jones could get for Romo, or what the Chargers could get for Rivers.

    http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/353745/report-49ers-may-go-hard-after-cousins?ls=roto:WAS:topheadlines

Well its obvious the 49ers need a QB and with Shanahan if he's coach or not (I'm not sure) coaching him in the past it might be worth it. The QB class this year is weak.

  9. Not sure where to put this but anybody paying attention to the East-West Shrine game. Didn't recognize the names really but 2 service academy guys are playing who I heard were good in King (LB) and Steelhammer (S). Also noticed the 6-10 Dan Skipper is playing at OT. I'd actually like to see him be switched over to 3-4 DE with that size. Yikes.

I'd be upset because that's currently my only laptop in the house.

I really like White. He's a good coverage guy and really could add to our spteams. I was probally reaching a little too high for Charlton in the 2nd rd tho  but he really reminds me of Suggs since he seems like a really good runstopper besides his passrush abilities.

Matt Miller spoke to scouts who think Tre White could go top 20 and will definitely be a first round pick after this week at the Senior Bowl.

As should be the case. How he was ever regarded as anything lower than a first round talent is beyond me.

Funny you told me when I wanted to draft him in the 1st rd that I wasn't making no sense. I call bullschtein. Pg 9. Edge rusher thread. Third from bottom.

I've got both pretty low to be honest - I had white high-mid second I think and taco around the same place on my board although it's on my laptop and I'm on my phone so I'd have to check at another time

Just surprized everybodys got White so low. Seems a tradeback and possibly a tradeup in my scenario. Thanks for replying. Its still early and I have to look at guys like Charles Harris cuz I don't recall watching any Mizzou games.

Taco is likely a first rounder and white is a consensus mid to late second, so that wouldn't make sense

I agree with all of this except for the 34 part. I don't think he's an edge rusher at the next level, his pursuit and burst are good but he lacks the bend to make an edge rush work.

And for the ravens he is far too much of a tweener and an experiment. Not my cup of tea with the shape this team is in

Huh. Didn't realize White was rated that low and Taco that high. Talk about wicked curveballs.

    Haha all good man.

When you posted yardage and TDs at first I was like.... wait is he giving the Eagles rushing or passing stats to the center?? Wait was the eagles offense THAT bad?!?

Then I realized.... oh - he thinks is TRAVIS Kelce.

No wonder he thought it was crazy to say he sucked - he was just the best TE in the league by far this year.

Problem with his brother, the center, is that he's built and moves like a big TE. Wouldn't work with the big nasty DTs in the AFCN.

Maybe they should try him out at TE though?? You might be on to something.

He'd be our best blocking TE lol

i dont like him at all for us, i would take him in the 2nd round but i woudnt sniff the guy in the first.

burst off the line - average at best

speed around the edge - average, sometimes slightly above average

bend and flexibility in the pass rush - average at best

he plays strong and physical but i just dont see nearly enough pass rush ability to warrant taking him 16th. if we were the saints or colts or something picking in this area id sing a different tune, but for what we want/need, no way.

Yeah I don't think he's got a lot of burst but that powerrush he could do on the interior and his run stopping abilities really impressed me. Also was thinking 2nd rd. White in 1st and Taco in 2nd. Should have clarified.
