Yes I do. They know the system and could play in emergency situations without missing a beat. Are they all that good? Nope, but at least they fit better as a backup than Tyrod.
I'd be very surprized if Tyrod makes the team. Right now the Texans do have 4 QBs with all of them taking some 1st team reps. One of them will be let go(imo Yates) barring injury but I'd be worried having Wenning as the only backup but you never know. Just not big on the Texans QBs but I'm sure choices will be limited.
I don't see us going with Wenning as the only backup. It's either Tyrod or a cut Texans QB in my opinion.
You think Kubiak would want either Yates or Keenum. They got him fired.
The problem with Tyrod is you gotta run a whole different offense for him.
@Arnie. Kaep hasn't even played 2 full years worth of games.
Does a megacontract mean 15 mil a year say a 6 yr 80 mil contract or does it have to average 20 mil a year. I'm gonna say Dalton and Alex Smith will get between 15-18 mil a year depending on whether they get franchized or not and play out the year under their original pay. Franchize tag more money. It puts the ball in the players court, Newton's 5th year option has already been picked up but I'm sure they're gonna have to alleviate some of their cap issues that year and he'll get Flacco money imo with a low salary hit for the 1st year. Luck is gonna make the big bucks cuz he's far away the best out of all the candidates and I'm predicting an 8 yr 200mil contract. Oooooh baby!!
Also notice how sloppy tackling has got around the league as a whole? I think that is another casualty of the non-contact drills in the CBA. It just seems tackling can't be taught anymore due to the no contact thing and now they don't know how to wrap a guy up properly.
Wrap up form tackling has been a lost art for a long time. Too many players prefer the ram shoulder tackle. Doesn't even matter if the ball carrier is 50 lbs heavier and built like a..... you know what. Non contact drills tho is a waste of time and probally should just be dropped. Should just be a couple days of classroom. Adding some extra time to training camp would be better.
The Sean Lee injury imo is also devastating to the Cowboys let alone himself. As a fan of Penn St I'm sad to see this. So much potential. ![]()
Irsay has to face some sort of punishment, even though I don't really see the point in punishing owners. Other than not showing preferential treatment. But suspending them doesn't have the effect suspending a player or coach does, and fining them really doesn't do too much when you have the coffers most of these men do.
*shrugs*
Take away the right to tweet bout the NFL. That'll be like the death sentence. Lol.
He wanted to retire as a Raven. Lol.
They only reinstated him so he can work out with the team. This is being way overanalyzed. ![]()
In my head it played out like this:
Jacoby: Eli, throw me a deep pass.
Eli: Okay.
Jacoby: No, not a mid-range pass, I mean a long bomb. Haven't you seen me with Joe Flacco the last 2 years?
Eli: That's as far as I can throw.
Jacoby: Oh... see ya.
Lol.
Glad to see him back. Gives us a playmaking deep threat and keeps our return team strong aka field position. Still would take a WR in the 1st 2 rds.
McClain made a tough decision to walk away. Hopefullyhe walked away as a disturbed boy and comes back as a man with solid principles. This is the land of multiple oppurtunuties
Chris clemons
I agree with Chris Clemmons(FS). This is a position I believe we're gonna have to take care of in free agency. In the draft we're gonna have to concentrate on other positions maybe a developmental safety in the late rds.
It's too bad Red Bryant got swooped up but a DLineman would also be nice. Art Jones resigned??
I've been saying since the SD/Cin playoff game sign Rich Ornberger(C-G) to a contract to help with our interior line play either as depth or a chance to start at center. An under the radar guy who can probally be had for cheap.
I also like Joiqie Bell(RB). I believe he's an FA.
If I were the Ravens, I'd give him 5 years and $48mill with $20mill guaranteed, especially considering the deal that the Raiders just gave Veldheer. Comparatively it's a steal.
If you don't sign Monroe you've thrown 2 draft picks down the tubes. I understand those not wanting to over pay, but what sets the team back more - investing 2 draft picks that provide absolutely ZERO return only to have to re-invest even more in HOPES of a solution , or maybe overpaying a little bit for an impact player at one of the most important positions on the team that you KNOW is a solution.
I side with paying the man especially if he wants less than what a lesser player got, even if he got it from the Oakland Raiders.
You'll get one of the 4ths back maybe a 3rd in comp pick plus a 7th for McKinnie. Can't say a zero in return. Oz did it for a chance at a postseason run.
The big players for Eugene are dolphins, cardinals, panthers.
First two have enough salary to break the bank. Last one being Panthers are unloading bad players to grab one of top3 LT in FA.
They are desperate enough to overpay. Don't be surprised if we lose Monroe.
Jordan Gross retiring was shocking especially when the Panthers are on an upswing.
(Semi)random thought: this year teams can start contacting agents 3 days before Free Agency starts. During those 3 days agents/players should get a good sense of who wants them and for how much. Monroe and his agent may just be waiting for that to set a number..
Legal tampering. Crazy phrase. Yes the rumors will be flying. Lol. ^^^^^^^^^Agree.
Its not possible. I laid out an idea of just having a game every week of diff teams
That would cost 16 teams a home game which hurts businesses in that area.
I understand you're from the UK and its great there are so many fans developing in Europe in general but the time zones and fatigue factors it causes just isn't fair.
A lot of fans in Europe imo already have favorite teams. Would a London team actually garner enough fan base to support a team especially if they start slow out of the gate and then how do you work a home and away schedule.
Exactly who I'm looking at. Skill players can be gotten later.
Well I should say top 15. Bryan Bulaga never actually played LT, since he tore his ACL.. Either way, there's very few outside the first round. where as good receivers are drafted sporadically through the draft.
Lewan Certainly will not fall past pittsburg.
Steelers will be lookinfg defense. Beachum played well at LT last year as a 7th rounder.
Nate Solder, Duane Brown, Anthony Castonzo, Bryan Bulaga, Ryan Clady, Brandon Albert, Joe Staley, and Michael Roos were all taken out of the top 10. In a draft such as this one tackles fall because other positions are so top heavy. Only teams that absolutely need tackles will draft one.
Thank you sir. You can also add Veldheer and Jason Peters to that list.
While I'll never begrudge a player for trying to get as much as possible, especially given the non-guaranteed nature of NFL contracts, but what can't you do with $35M that you can with $45M, just as an example? Either way, your entire family can be set up nicely for generations.
10 mil can buy you some sweet ferraris.
Agreed, but I don't understand why they wouldn't at least use the transition tag to give us the option to match any offer. Now he can just go out and sign a deal day 1 of FA. It doesn't make any sense...
What if he signed the tag and we couldn't come to an agreement. 10 mil off the cap. Look at the Steelers situation with Worilds. Now they're scrambling. Lol.
Redding didn't qualify for comp picks at all,
Again, I have no clue what the rule is since they don't publicize comp pick conditions, but if the past is any indication, it is possible that Monroe would not qualify. I'm not saying it as fact, but merely bringing up the possibility since the 2 situations are nearly identical.
Didn't realize that. I've heard before that we can recoup a comp pick so hopefully thats better news. Does anybody know the answer to this?
He was signed under a new deal, but I'm failing to see how that matters.
If he signed a new deal then you may have a point. I'd like to get answers to that myself but we might not have got a comp pick for Redding if we signed a UFA in return
That's my thoughts exactly. If he hits the market, the Dolphins and Cardinals are going to pounce. Can we compete with the Dolphins?
If he goes for the dollars no. They overpaid for Wallace and they'll do the same with Monroe. Steven Ross is not much differnt than Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder.
Redding didn't void it. The team did. The situations are identical other than the fact that one was traded in the offseason and one in the middle of the season.
He completed his rookie deal. Did he sign an extension or something. Where did he get a 6th year?

Chykie's got to have some competition and we need to bring in a vet. I still believe they have confidence in Brown. If Brown and Asa perform well with possibly one of the RFAs performing well also then you can cut the vet. Flowers tho will be too much money.
