  1. This could impact their NFL Sunday Ticket contract. I thought that had exclusive rights outside the local markets.

Agreed. I'd be pretty ticked if I was a Jag or Bill fan living away from my home city. I think what this is mainly for is to reel in more of a global audience who most would have to go to some sort of bar or something to catch a football game.

  2. I told him that they were lucky that we left them the name, colors, mascot and logos...  unlike the Colts who left with everything...

(I didn't have the heart to tell him we didn't want to be the Browns).

Yeah its pretty terrible that Payton broke Unitas's Colts records. Again Balt fans were able to vote for their own name just like they did when they chose the Colts which the Irsays had no right to take.

As far as Manziel is concerned(the topic lol) some sort of security should have ushered this "fan" out. There's no reason he should have been able to badger Manziel like that.

  3. I actually had a customer in my store one day that was very demonstrative about the fact that we had won 2 Super Bowls, and that had they not moved to Baltimore, it would have been Cleveland that would have those two trophies.

Hmmmm....  rather interesting mentality, don'tcha think???

A lot of Clev fans don't never seem to get the grasp that it was Tags that actually caused the Browns to move to Balt when he screwed Balt out of an expansion franchize by awarding it to Jax. Balt had the best package and it showed. We got the Browns.

  4. Panthers and Cam Newton are nearing a 5 year extension that will pay roughly $100 million.

Flacco's contract is looking better and better when you see the other qb's getting crazy money for no accomplishments :

    Kapernik

    Cutler

    Ryan

    Newton (when he signs)

    Dalton

    Tannehill

    Edit*

Just read that it might be closer to 5 years $115 million, with $50-60 million guaranteed!  :o  Panthers are nuts.

Newton's actually a very solid QB. Top10 perhaps. You'd at least have to hope so for that ching.lol. Lets see what the contract is and if there are any outs before just looking at numbers. Luck has got to be licking his chops. I'm saying it now 6yr 150 mil with half guaranteed.

  5. I don't feel bad for them at all. I will always remember how everyone painted the browns fans as the best fans in the nfl and how they deserved a team when the team moved to Baltimore, who had to watch places like Jacksonville get a team. It was absolutely sickening.

I rememeber when Tags said it was gonna be one old city and one new city and St Louis screwed up their money and then screw Balt giving the Jags their expansion team even tho they were like 50th in TV rankings, If anybody thinks Modell scrtewed Clev. No it was Tags.

  6. As I understand it YES you can.

I like that the defense can score off of a failed attempt... takes me back to NFL Street days lol

SpTeam scoring is gonna be crazy next year and decide a lot of games.

Imo the defensive scoring since they decided on it should only 1 pt for extra point attempts and 2 pts for 2 pt conversion attempts lol. And the score is now 6-1. I'd be saying "What inning is it in".

  7. Stupid rule imo.  Close games are going to be won and lost by which kicker screws up or which team makes more 2 pt. conversions.  They shouldn't be decided that way.

It might benefit the Ravens because Tucker is a great kicker, but I still think the rule change sucks.

I agree. The extra point has always been a gimme and getting the 7th point was actually a reward for not kicking a FG. What the NFL should have did if the play was so boring was eliminate it entirely and just give teams a choice if they wanted to go for 2 or not.

This increases the value of excellent kickers. We should've extended Tucker before this rule imo.

Yep. Roll out the Brinks truck.

Does any one think this will make the two any more common?

Without a doubt mainly cuz weather can factor in. Plus I can't really see why a defense should be rewarded with 2 pts with returning a turnover after they just gave up a TD buuuut maybe that will make coaches think twice about going for 2.

Just thought of something else what if you get a holding penalty on the extra point attempt can you then decide to go for 2?  <_<

  8. Niners DT Justin Smith is retiring. Like I said before, it's like Oprah is handing out retirement papers to everybody.

If Jim Tomsula gets yhe 9ers into the playoffs hands down Coach of the year.

I'd also like to see Smith have a shot at the hall. He just wasn't getting the recognition he deserved playing for bad Bengals and pre Harbaugh 49er teams. Sometimes grunt guys need the recognition instead of the pretty playboys.

  9. Right now just an opinion but I see a starting line of Jernigan on 3 tech,Williams on the nose and Canty lining up in the 5 tech on a basic 3-4 line. Rotation guys on the DE position will be Tyson,Urban(subject matter) and Guy with Lewis Moore(subject matter) on the outside looking in. Davis will likely start backing up the nose with Jernigan possibly playing nose on passing situations. Since I believe we're only gonna keep 7 DLinemen Lewis-Moore is really gonna have to have an impressive camp to make the final 53 barring any sort of injury to anybody.

  10. It seems like even the players don't care about the rivalry, seems like only Titan fans care about us. Remember two hard nose football teams, stealing players, breaking streaks, fights, all that. Then all of a sudden it just stopped. Hopfuly Mariota can change things. Anyone else kinda sad about this?

I'm surprized Titans fans care about us. lol. We only play each other every 3 yrs and thats only 1 game.

  11. I guess I just don't believe in turning myself in when questioned, I find it bizarre. The idea is to make them prove you guilty, while you claim your innocence. The Patriots did that, they weren't found guilty Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, yet they still got punished.

My main concern is the dangerous precedent this sets with league punishment, and how bad they've proven themselves at handling punishments already.

    Common sense prevailed.......for a change.

  12. Waller looks pretty smooth in his breaks in the most recent rookie camp sneak peek.

Hopefully we have found our Megatron-type (they both went to GT) WR to step in opposite Perriman when Smitty retires.

I'm very excited for the upcoming season(s)!

    I'll take 3/4s of Megatron

You know, you're very astute for a Cogenhagener.  You're joking right?  You're really an NFL scout aren't you?

If not, I hereby award you Polynesian with the honorary title of "Astute Judge of NFL Caliber Wide Receiver Talent".  There's a medal as well and a cup of coffee.  But seriously, I'm impressed.

He said he only took a look at the training camp video. A little harsh man.

Stephen Hill went to GT as well.....

Demetrius Thomas. So what if Waller came out of a running school. Look at who else came from GT.
