I think this is a good idea. Because people go to church on sunday mornings. I say attend to your church around 9AM and then after that you get dressed and drive down to stadium. The NFL used to start at 3PM back in the old days before the mid 60s then they started at 1PM. You can watch most games on TV including the west coast game at same time. and then Sunday night football starts at 8PM and Monday night at 8;30 PM

If you do that Steve you're cutting us down to 1 game to watch.

Never looked at it that way. That is bad.
If we lose Wagner and BWill that would be horrendous lol can't imagine the reaction on these boards.
I think you kind of answered the BWill question than.. If he isn't Ngata than why pay him 8-11mil/year?

Williams is the best NT in the league and does a different job than Ngata. Williams eats up blockers and drives back the pocket whereas Ngata was more of a penetrator. Ngata in his heyday would be worth 15 mil a yr now maybe more.

Hopefully we can resign all 3 players from the '12 class cuz we need to regain an identity with more in their prime players. We are sorely lacking in players that were homegrown between their 5th and 10th year. We have maybe 6 of these types of players on our roster which is pathetic.

Yes, it's an absolute joke of a website.  It's slickly designed and fun to look at, but the actual content is ridiculously biased.  They give 0.0 cheat points to the Patriots over Deflategate?  But they did give out a positive number of cheat points to various other teams for similar (and less egregious) instances of "deflategating" (as you pointed out).  They also give teams like the Jets the same cheat points for Spygate as they gave the Patroits.  They seriously undermine their integrity by downplaying to this extent something as obviously severe as Spygate.

The worst in my opinion is giving the Colts a +9.0 cheat score and "Serious Infraction!" medal for "Suck For Luck"-gate?  Seriously?  Losing on purpose isn't even cheating.  It is, quite literally, not against the rules.  If that was even what happened, of which there is literally no proof that they lost on purpose.  It's an assumption (perhaps even a fair one), but it's not proven, and it's not cheating even if they did do it.  And yet it's considered a far more serious instance of cheating than anything the Patriots have ever done.

    That site is a joke.

Yes those players and coaching staff put their jobs on the line lol

I love that Dan Duquette told Jose Bautista's agent that we weren't interested because our fans don't like him! Awesome!

That's sooooo funny but the real reason is probally we have no place to play him and I doubt we sign any headliners when we got our own to try and lock up (Manny and Britton).

I think its a good move to raid the RedSox minors. I'm going to predict right now Tavarez makes the team cuz we don't want him going back to the Sox. I'm going to have to assume nobody wanted our minorleagers haha.

Also the thing about the Ravens is that even with no huddle, they produce long clock burning drives. So you can get fooled by the pass attempts of Flacco, because those 2-4 yard passes to the RB, HB and TEs are just the same as the run late in games. It keeps the clock running and the offense ahead of the sticks.

Imo a OC has to have a great read on his guys and a great feel for the game. Trestman didn't seem to have either during his time here. Marty on the other hand seems to have it. Right after him and Joe go at it in the QB room about staying aggressive, boom, Marty calls a really aggressive game and doesn't let up. I think that's big because you it shows the players that it's not just your way or the highway, the offense is theirs.

Also I think Yanda summed it up prefect in the Wired segment. He said something like when Joe is on fire like that you just gotta ride him. We don't care how much we run the ball as long as we're scoring. Not his exact words but close. I think that's the mindset for every game honestly. Get Joe into a nice rhythm and if he catches fire ride him. However if things just aren't click early than you hope to be able to lean on the run until you can get that rhythm in the pass game.

Wholheartedly agree when you talk about feel for the game. If the run game is going I believe Marty would stick to it and if Joe is hot ride that arm whereas imo Trestman always wanted to get cute and try to fool people.

To me tho this whole thread is moot cuz I don't want Marty going nowhere and he can become the longterm answer at OC.

I'm giving credit to Frazier and Weddle. Our defensive backs have never looked this good and well coached. I have never seen our DBs play so well in zone and break on the ball so hard.

Perhaps the issue -- as I speculated last season -- was that last year, we had two extremely inexperienced guys coaching the secondary. I think the coaching here has gone a long way.

I can't say it's the tools because the pass rush has not been consistent by any means, and our secondary has been hurt by injuries as always. I think we're just finally coaching our DBs better.

Weddle was an A+ signing by Ozzie. Our secondary is a 100x better.

  8. Basically what we are looking at is under Trestman we would give up the run game in a close game but against the Dolphins the pass game was working so why deviate. With us jumping out in front the playaction was always there. They had to keep worrying about the run. Just cant give up on the run when you got plenty of clock and the game still in question which was happening under Trestman. You don't neccassarily need any kind of ceratain pass ratio to the run as long as you got all options open. Pedal to the metal.

I don't see the controversy. The only loss Ohio State has is Penn State. Penn State lost to Pitt and pretty convinvingly to Michigan. Clemson and Washington are conference champions with less losses than Penn State. If Penn State only had one loss, I'd take them due to head to head over Ohio State. Honestly though, I'd rank Michigan above Penn state as well though due to their head to head win which was a heck of a lot more convincing than Penn State's win over Ohio State.

The committee could also look at the fact that both Penn St losses happened at the beginning of the year while they beat Ohio St in the middle of the year and have rolled off 9 wins in a row and like Ohio St have a great following. You cant rank Mich ahead cuz if they played that extra game they may have lost. In the end. Ohio St will go in imo but theres gonna be a lot of drama in this which is good cuz at minimum it should be 8 teams with the Big 5 conf winners, the best one in the other conf's and 2 at larges which Ohio St would be a no brainer. I personally think Penn St is better than Wash but can you imagine the sqwaking that would happen if Wash got knocked out lol.

And how bout James Franklin and McSorley. Two fun guys.

Snyder is a regular right fielder. He might not hit but he can play that position better than Trumbo. Trumbo wants to play first base. We already have a first basemen that Chris Davs. And these pitchers are way better than our regular starters  Bundy and Miley both belong on the bullpen and Jimenez needs to be released. He just sucks. So my list would improve the starting pitching.

Jeez I just went and looked up Snider and he played all last year in the minors but I guess you didn't say he was regular in the majors lol. Remember we had him and he was terrible.  I agree with you we need starting pitchers but just bringing in mediocre guys isn't going to do it. Maybe Detwiler over Miley but with these other moves we'd be just like gerbils running in the same ol wheel thinking we getting somewhere. If you want to do something ballsy maybe we should trade an Adam Jones or JJ Hardy and get some high profile minor leagers in here like some starting pitching. Or even Manny. Whoa!

And accounts for like 50% of the teams points. In terms of "value" that's pretty significant.

Not saying he has a shot - I know he doesn't. It'll be Stafford, Carr, Ryan, Brady, Prescott or maybe Zeke,

Just don't think usage by itself is a good criteria to measure most valuable. If anything I think producing more with less is a better indicator of value.

Unfortunately that's the way the NFL will probally look at it tho but right now I think he's at least the Ravens MVP... but you know 32 teams.

This is what the O's need in Free Agency

    SP Tim Lincecum = Angels

    SP Ivan Nova = Pirates

    SP Ross Detwiler =A's

    RF Travis Snider = Royals

If O's sign these players i promise i wont complain or gripe about them the whole season. The fact is the current starting pitching sucks! They not consistent is exactly why O's lost at Toronto.

Can you list explanations for each as to why you want these guys. What are they gonna provides besides more mediocrity. You defintly have to explain Snider at least.

  13. The more I think of this right now I'm fine with Martyball. We've been looking for somebody long term and he's been an upgrade over Trestman imo. He doesn't give up on running the ball which gives us the playaction.

Chip Kelly sounds interesting and Joe seems to do pretty good with hurry ups and we do have good speed on offense but I do not see him taking a backseat as OC. Personally as a fan Id rather see us keep a more chew up the clock style.
