It was a well written piece. I do know position coaches have a lot to do with things but they still are running and teaching Pees's defense. I also remember in another thread involving Frazier I made a couple posts where I was against making him HC cuz of the Tampa 2 style. I wouldn't mind switching to a 4 man front when Jernigan could be a force a 3 tech penetrator There is one question if you had a nice overview of the plays is if the Ravens corners initiated any contact within 5 yds or were they backpedaling (no matter where they lined up) giving free cushions. Tough on tv to see whats going on. Just initiating contact imo could give the passrush an extra second. Williams a lot of times at the beginning of the game seems to get tremendous push collapsing the pocket but does seem to tire out later in the game And Urban to me has been a major disappointment. Our DL needs help and I wonder how much Clarence Brooks coaching was missed in this area. I'm thinking a lot. Hopefully Correa,Kaufusi and Henry can contribute more next year. Gosh I sure hope you're not lumping everybody into that statement lol. You do not give enough blame to the coaching. Yes the players play but somebodies calling the shots preparing these guys. If coaching is not important then why have them.

4th qtr collapses. How I would solve that problem? I would grab a certain DC by the belt loops and do a 1.....2.....3 heave and see how far he can fly.

Maybe they are as talented. You see spurts constantly from guys like Jernigan then they disappear or they make boneheaded decisions. That's not on coaching? Its also does say a lot when you stop them for 3 qtrs. It also says a lot when they break down in the 4th qtr. You know why? its called bad defensive calls. Getting off the accelerator. Running scared. Again did you have any confidence we could stop Pitt? Do you have any confidence in stopping anybody? Do you only hold the players accountable for 4th qtr collapses? Its really mindblowing that people want to show Marty the door for 1 call but 5 yrs of 4th qtr collapses is okay.

I agree very much here Tru but remember only 1 of those players was with us during our 1st SB and still these guys need to be coached up and in the right position and frame of mind to make the plays. That's in the coaching. We had all 4 of these guys with Mattison and we were bleh. We had all 4 of these guys during Pees's 1st yr in our 2nd SB but our defense was still not that great. We almost lost that damn SB and it wasn't cuz of the lights lol I truly believe Ozzie picks players like he's always picked players but the tenacity and the big thing clutch is just not there under Pees and he needs to be held accountable and by accountable I mean shown the door

Defintly Garcon would be a much better option but he still may be too pricey but it does seem like he'd be the same m.o. like Mason,Boldin and SSS which hey I'm not complaining.

Not to long to read but its also just an opinion cuz apparently this writer seems to think every play was perfectly called and it was only just the players that lacked the execution which is fine but the bottomline is.........drumroll........who is teaching these players what to do in certain situations? Who holds players accountable? Who teaches the bad techniques? And how long has this been going on? Its the same ol same ol. If its lack of execution sorry I blame the coaching staff. One time the Ravens had it where if the situation was you had to either hold on to the lead or take the lead I would go with I want to hold on to the lead cuz I got confidence we could do it. Now its the other way around. I also like the way you avoided the Pitt question. Is it cuz you wasn't confident?

Forgot about Canady and I have liked what Ive seen so far and one guy I like from college is Tredavius White from LSU. I just don't think he make it to 2nd rd and for passrushers(which I'm also talking bout penetrating DLinemen) the only 2 so far I'm confident in are the 2 from Alabama(Williams and Allen) who will be gone in top 10. I've seen a few games but I have to do more research.

Totally agree with this and I'm thinking the next 2 drafts on defense and drafting 2 interior Olinemen in the middle of our draft this year. Just not exactly sure what we can do at center but I'm not liking Zuttah You know how it is. Everybody wanting the big cheeze and not considering the salary cap. Probally need to go out and get some sort of possession receiver within the 2-3 mil range.

It kills me to see some posters claiming Pees has "exotic blitzes" when what I mostly see is maybe 7 men lining up on the scrimmage and then the offense has to guess who is coming. Ooooooo. and usually the QB runs a cadence that actually show who is blitzing. QB audibles and Ravens still blitz the same ones that were showing blitz. Yep real exotic. Never audibling. Nothing. You never see the Ravens dropping any DLinemen in coverage. Or how bout bringing an outside corner off the edge. Or what do you know maybe have a delayed blitz. Their blitzes are pathetic and very obvious and my favorite Pees description...vanilla. Ravens also figgering out snap count is horrendous. Pretty much reason why we cant get a good 4 man passrush but ya know whats that got to do with Pees lol. @BmoreBird22 you can disguise coverages by dropping a safety in a short middle zone and dropping a LB off into the flat or showing man coverage but zoning but I know you already know this but man cmon you know Pees gets off the gas pedal and drops into soft zones time and time again to keep the play in front and run clock which ultimately costs us the game or makes it one hell of a nailbiter. Be honest man how much confidence did you have that we could shut Pitt down after Juice scored. I know I didn't but I thought we was gonna at least hold them to a FG lol. Our defense instills no fear when at one time it used too and that's just a fact no matter how high we ranked.

The major flub was trading our 1st to Minn(Harrison Smith) and dropping back and getting Upshaw and Gradkowski. Ugh!

They can ask him to take a paycut like they did with Webb and Pitta then give him the chance to earn money back thru incentives. Its the only way they should keep him. To @Ravens419 you have 2 aging passrushers. This is a major need.

He knew how to hire good DCs also. Think about all the players Ozzie drafts on defense. They just don't fit Harbs and Pees's style imo. Bring back Rex or even Marvin.

Head to heads only mean something when only those 2 teams are tied. When its 3 or more with same record head to head means nothing.

If the Ravens were worried about clock control they wouldn't have called a passing play. Just a straight up INC could have occurred or maybe even an INJ which would have a lot of INK about it.

As far as I know players are allowed to do what they want. Coaches just cant be present. They need to start practicing check up launches. I haven't read the article on Steve but I cant picture this passionless guy being upset. Especially when he may be in his last year.

I'd like to see JMU take it. I was shocked to see NDSU had won 5 championships in a row and a whole lot before that. Didn't realize they was such a powerhouse. I was switching back and forth between that and the Div III game which one team avg'd 49 pts a game and the other 38 pts a game. Final score 10-7 lol.

Not me. I believe we match up very well with their offense and altho I think Wade Phillips is the best DC in the league they're not as dominant as last year on defense. Don't underestimate the QB situation here that knocks that experience level down quite a few notches. KC believe it or not scares me the most.
