  1. A very good point. Im gonna have to say not as much.
  2. Really not much of a diffrence between a prevent and a soft zone imo. The lack of communication, the missed tackles, not knowing how long to stay in your zone before you converge yeah you can blame that on position coaches(the secondary coach is a newbie who's wet behind the ears) but the bottomline is who's the grand poobah. The conductor of the defense. All I iknow is that on 3rd down and long I have no confidence. I'm just hoping and praying we can stop em
  3. There's no way to install a "new defense". Thing is with Pees calling the D we've had too many 4th qtr comebacks in the last 3 years. We need a fresh playcaller just to see if we can restart the defense and regain confidence. The smarts and awareness are just not there for some reason. It happened during the SB run on the other side of the ball. Maybe simplify the teminology or simplify the scheme and provide better disguises.
  4. Really sucks to hear he's down again and we do need a deep threat. Aiken as a deep threat is just terrible. No seperation whatsoever.
  5. The funny thing is with that Tucker miss I thiught he was trying to play the wind but the wind never pushed the ball over. I also dont like Flacco saying anything about lacking confidence thats just something you gotta keep a lid on regardless what he believes.
  6. We gotta hope there's 2 more years in him.
  7. He was talking about the Andy Dalton TD not the Green TD.
  8. They can only promote from within. Sometimes players play harder for a certain coach and its worth the roll of the dice. Pees gotta go but they'll wait until its too late. Yeah I cant believe he said Pees is softer than Mattison. If you had a totem pole Mattison would definitely be on the bottom with Pees one rung up. Pees refuses to believe his scheme is the problem. Totally agree with what you said about complexity
  9. I've been with them since the expansion team when we were probally the most hated team in the NFL(cuz we "stole" Clev's team) and were perinneal losers and laughingstocks thru the Billick era when we had the dominant D but the ever so frustrating offense(basically the era where we made a name and got an identity) till the times of today. I'll drink in the glory and suffer thru the bad times until the day I die with the Ravens. CAW!!!!!
  10. Yep I dont see many people defending Pees no more. Its not just the games we lost but there was some we barely won cuz the D let them right back in it. Remember the SB win. How big of a lead did we have? I'm believing in Ray's energy and desire is what pulled us through. Who knows maybe even Ray called the all out blitz or at least influenced the call. 8th ranked D last year. Whatever. What did they rank in 4th qtr scores or even 2 minute drills(both halves) the last 3 years? I gotta feeling its low.
  11. The Pope. By a nosehair.
  12. You missed one. Detroit. I was thinking 10 wins for them and wildcard. With the Broncos coming to their house will the Lions D led by the Royal Farm chicken guy be able to bottle up Peyton. Matt Stafford really reminds me of Flacco. Great arm but can be inconsistent. If he's on he's on.
  13. The Pickapart Pees
  14. The last time the Ravens ran a true 4-3 was with Marvin Lewis during the 1st SB with Sam Adams,Goose,McCrary and Rob Burnett on the line. I think Mike Nolan was the next DC and converted it to a 3-4 when Ed Hartwell lined up next to Ray. Theres definitely something up with Pees's calling when he plays soft on 3rd and long or when the game is on the line after the offense give us the lead.
  15. I seen at least five 3 man passrushes on 3rd down. smh.
  16. As long as you have the same amount of players that should provide competitive balance and strategy is most definitely involved with the decision on who to suit up plus I really don't want to see a TE lining up up at OT or somebody run out of RBs plus there are more options for SpTeams. With more players teams are stronger imo.
  17. Let them abuse it. Heck the Orioles do it over the summer. Personally I think it would make the 63 that much more relevant.
  18. The one exception is the time the Pats traded up twice(in the same draft) to select Donta Hightower and Chandler Jones. That really put the bite back in their defense but we would need 10 or 11 picks(counting supplemental picks) to do it but I'd love to do it one time for a special talent.
  19. I'd like to seeit raised to 50 players. If you're short on the 50 you should be allowed to dip into your practice squad and pay them the rookie minimum for that game. Its gotta suck when you see your name on the inactive list.
  20. When you have a great matchup on Thurs night instead of a dud thats a good start for football weekend. If the Jets get their running game going the could definitely be 0-2. Revis gets 2 picks. GB/Sea is gonna be one kick butt game. Also JO its a little harsh calling that last pick a Gillmore drop.
  21. Interesting. Tbh I've always wondered if there was clock manipulation on Cundiffs whiff in the playoffs. Everything just seemed too rushed.
  22. Classic.
  23. It might not be the passrush abilities we miss most. He's also a fine edgesetter. Wish him full luck in his recovery and I hope its not his last year.
  24. Definitely moved the ball better when Camp was in there. Getting Juice and the TE's involved is a must. On the outside I'd go with SSS, M Brown and Camp with just a sprinkle of Aiken if they must.lol.
  25. The Good- Our defense looked solid. Real happy with the secondary play. The Bad- Our offense obviuosly The Ugly- Daryl Smith dropping the pick 6 and Joe getting horsecollered. Talk about player safety.
