  1. I've been thinking all along that we'd let Jacoby go after the season. I'm beginning to question that notion. Ever since his injury, his play has been increasing back to what we thought it would be in the preseason. He's pretty much the number 2 guy once again. Even in the KR/PR department, he's getting back to being the primary guy. Doss is starting to see less time on punt returns. When Jacoby was out, the guy I thought would be his replacement next year, Deonte, still didn't get many looks. So, it is possible that Jacoby comes back? We're going to be really tight up against the cap once again, but how much will Jacoby really command? He's going to be 30 years old, so I can't see him getting any huge deal since his primary role will be as a KR. I've been thinking that he may come back for a few weeks, and yesterday's performance really got me wondering. Does he mean more to this team than we realize?
  2. Yeah seriously. I knew I hated that station, but I follow them on Twitter because their interviews are usually somewhat interesting. Guess I won't pay attention to them anymore...
  3. Haha of course. I would usually never quote WNST, but since it was Zenitz, I believed them. Shame on me!
  4. Sorry, Nate.
  5. I don't think we can feasibly afford the franchise tag.
  6. I agree. It's impossible to do this accurately. Most teams are in the business of offering extensions or restructuring contracts to get under the cap. For the sake of this game, we can't do that. We have to implement other ways to cut salary since the way they really do it is impossible for us.
  7. But then a team devotes all of its resources to a certain player, but their old team matches, and they get left with nothing. Pretty much everyone else at the position is already signed so it's not like they can resort to a plan B. It's a tough situation.
  8. I'm not suggesting to implement it this year, but next year maybe, what if we allowed each team to keep 2-3 of their own free agents if they want? Have people do their best to "re-sign" them to fair deals, subject to approval by the CoCo. I know it's somewhat hard to define "fair" but I'm sure it's something that could be figured out over time.
  9. Only 6 more to pick (excluding Clutch), and I know at least 4 of them have been particularly active in this thread. Let's hope we can catch the other guys at an opportune moment.
  10. There shouldn't have to be an agreement between the CoCo on that. That is how the salary cap works. I know we bend the rules a bit, but the acquiring team taking on the base salary is always how it works. The trading team takes on the signing bonuses from the current and future years. As gabe said, roster bonuses are technically taken on by the acquiring team, but for the sake of simplicity, it's probably easier just to use base salary.
  11. Correct. In some cases, cap figure - dead money may equal a negative number, meaning that the person trading the player must take on more stars that they already have tied into that player. In all trades, the acquiring team will only take on base salary.
  12. Clutch is the only one who has still not picked at this point. Everyone we've skipped is caught up except Clutch. I'd expect BmoreBird to be on later and a couple of us have Geving's picks, so we're scooting along slowly but surely.
  13. I'm not a CoCo, but if one doesn't come on before you head off, feel free to PM me with your choices.
  14. I considered them, but I decided I wanted to be more active and actually rebuild a team.
  15. Surprised Seattle is still on the board. Their cap situation is kind of rough, but it's not like they need much. A good portion of their free agents are depth pieces, too.
  16. Just Ed Reed being Ed Reed...
  17. Yep. He should be on the clock.
  18. At least most of the people left are ones that have been around and know the draft is going on. There are a couple people that I haven't seen post since we decided on this draft. I thought we would have been done tonight. I agree though. 12 hours seemed a little long to me.
  19. Just hope the pace picks up and we can get to your pick before the 2 skipped guys can make it on.
  20. Great. Thanks guys. Just wanted to be sure before I do my state of the franchise.
  21. Alright, so technically our starting cap is 132.5 with a standard draft, and then we make adjustments from there?
  22. So we're allowed to use the actual cap carryover? I thought we were all operating under the 127 number.
  23. The Cleveland Browns say possibly...
  24. Yeah I'm cutting 2, not including all of the camp body type guys.
