  1. Quinn was the one that got me as well. He was probably my favorite character for the past few seasons, but there were many early on where you were hoping they'd just kill him off and be done with it. He's started to get shades of his pre-poisoning self in the last few weeks and he's back to probably being one of the smartest people despite his disabilities. It's always better when Quinn is an assassin.
  2. Agreed. It hasn't been the quickest buildup, but they've really transformed this show over the last 2 weeks. Dar finally becoming the enemy was long awaited and I think they're doing it justice so far.
  3. I'd agree with this. I think Wesley has the upper hand right now but that could always change. I liked Nembot a lot last year actually but he needs a lot of work and he's probably more of a developmental guy going into this summer. Thought I also saw somewhere that they asked Wesley to stick around for the year and attend the meetings throughout the week while he was on IR last year.
  4. I can because Johnson has long had a 2nd round grade from me. Good, dependable player who should be able to start from day 1. Not many flaws to his game. Not overly athletic but has enough to function in practically every scheme.
  5. After what looks to have been an awful 40 at his pro day, probably undrafted. That's slow for a TE, let alone a WR. For a guy that can't run routes that well, there's not much value there.
  6. And that's where the confusion comes. What is the plan? Are we contending or building for the future? The obvious choice is a little bit of both but it hasn't been that cut and dry so far. There are options in rounds 2-4 but there are also 3-4 other positions you seemingly have to hit that you'd like to get in that range as well. I get what you're saying but to this point, the offense as a whole has largely been ignored and it's tough to see a plan there.
  7. The one thing that might explain Watson is that he still hasn't been cleared, but it's also been stated that we had intentions of holding onto him anyways. That sounds great but this is also an incredibly weak OL class. It's easy to say you can build through the draft but (1) you need to hit on those picks and (2) you still have other needs that would seemingly need to be drafted as well. I know it's still early so anything can happen, but I don't see any offensive identity right now.
  8. TE baffles me. I can understand keeping one of Pitta or Watson for a competition, but both? Let the young guys roll. The decision to keep Pitta irks me to no end. I've maintained my stance that they've been way too loyal to him. It's great that he's Joe's best friend and worked his way back from terrible injuries, but I don't really see how he helps this team. It'll be interesting to see though. I just don't see any offensive identity outside of the checkdown and it's been that way for a very long time.
  9. I didn't expand this much of course, but I agree on the offense vs. defense identity. Defense came together how I expected in a way, although Jefferson was a surprise but that was more a swapping of parts with Webb. I always expected a pass rusher to be drafted rather than signed, and I hope the same holds true with CB. The offense though... I just don't see it right now. 0 help for Flacco.
  10. Don't get caught up in current rankings. There are always prospects you don't think will be 1st rounders that end up in the first round. Karl Joseph was lauded as a 2nd round guy up until a couple weeks before the draft last year. Ryan Kelly got the 1st round buzz a bit earlier but at this point last year, he was also in a similar boat where he wasn't considered a 1st rounder. A couple of years back Ja'Wuan James was a consensus 2nd/3rd rounder until about a week beforehand.
  11. Since it sounds like the team is done until the draft, I can honestly say that I'm a little confused on the direction of this team. I know the draft is still yet to happen but I don't really see the plan here. Are we retooling or are we going for it? The same holes still exist as they have for years now - WR, OL, OLB, and CB. We made an attempt at filling CB in Carr but that's clearly a 1-2 year stopgap and nothing more. We opted to spend our money on positions that weren't really needs. Tony Jefferson is obviously the big get. I can't complain about this one since he's young and a clear signing for the future, but I still find it interesting how much we spent on him when we at least had a viable option already on the roster in Webb, even if it was short term. Woodhead wasn't expensive, but still interesting that we chose to invest there when you have a bevy of RBs in the draft. I love Williams but his re-signing still confuses me in the grand scheme of things. I like getting him back but I still question whether it was the best use of money considering none of our holes have been filled, and you had a guy that maybe you had to rely on stepping up. Furthermore, we've opted to keep all 87 of our tight ends for the time being. I know we have a young group but I see no point in having both Pitta and Watson on the roster when that cap could probably be better used, but I guess there's still time for that to happen. Overall, I guess I'm just failing to see the direction. We invested in a few stopgaps and a few younger players, but still have the same holes. Is that a team that can compete?
  12. I'd consider a 3rd, but agreed on the overall point. It's not about Jernigan's value as much as it is what benefit we're getting out of the deal. Unless a team is willing to pay more than his value, I don't see a benefit for us.
  13. I think it's a mix. Some overestimate it. Some underestimate it. I certainly wouldn't be giving him away but I also don't think he's worth a day 2 pick like some suggest. I don't think there's a trade that even makes sense unless it's a player swap. For a 4th round pick, which I'd guess would be his absolute max value, I'd rather have him on the field for one more year, even with his inconsistencies.
  14. I still don't see the value in a move like that. That still treats Jernigan like a throw in piece unless we're talking a significant jump.
  15. That type of deal essentially makes Jernigan a throw in piece. I feel like his value to this team is being severely understated right now. He's certainly inconsistent, but even if he walks after the year, he's certainly more valuable to us on the field than the proposed pick most people would accept in return. The only ways moving on from Jernigan makes sense is if it's a swap for another position of need, you get great value, or the team is intent on this being a rebuilding year which has already been proven to not be the case. I think the reality is that trading Jernigan doesn't make sense. If you can get a 2nd or maybe a 3rd out of him, great. I don't see that as being anywhere close to likely though. For a 4th or later, I'd rather just have him on field production for one more year.
  16. I don't really have much reason to be interested at this point. Good ball skills but doesn't have any speed and looks like he could potentially be a PI machine. I'd much rather have a CB that's sticky in coverage and doesn't come down with the INTs.
  17. That's something you evaluate while you're on the clock. Yeah we can say the Colts might be interested in some guys we're targeting, but what if there are 5 guys on the board that we're comfortable taking? If that's the case, we just let Jernigan go for absolutely nothing.
  18. There's no way I'm trading Timmy for a 5 spot jump in the 2nd. There's not enough upside, especially with the fluidity of those prospects in the late 1st/early 2nd range. if there are no trade options during the draft and the guy you're taking could still be potentially had at your original spot, you just gave Timmy away for nothing. If that's the scenario, I'd much rather have a 4th or something as that ammo to move up and get a guy. Not enough value in that minimal of a pick swap.
  19. Agreed on the fullback approach. I don't think either would be a true lead blocker type but they could easily function in that role.
  20. First inclination that Lewis might not actually stay at LG today. Harbaugh said they'd like to keep him at LG but he's a wildcard who could end up competing at RT or C as well.
  21. I really like the Jonnu Smith pickup. He was my target had I not traded up and ended my game.
  22. Sorry guys. I haven't been around much this weekend other than on mobile. Can't promise I'll be around too much going forward either. I'll update the end of the 4th round tomorrow.
  23. To be fair, tons of LBs were voted 2nd team all pro. 2nd place was like a 7 way tie, all with 1 vote each.
  24. Our time here has been extended until after the draft.
  25. Probably not the person most are going to comment on, but I just don't see it with Kyle Fuller. Think he's actually a lesser Urschel. He's not athletic at all. He's not strong. His footwork is poor. The size is nice but he'd be a serious project for anyone that takes him on.
