  1. It's a common problem around here. I mean, there was a large group at one point last year that would chastise you like crazy if you didn't think Treadwell was worth pick 6, and it all started with 1 person saying he was worth it. It really separates those that watch the tape and those that don't.
  2. Yep. After months of evaluation, this is typically the time when people start to overthink things and try to find hints and clues that don't exist. Happens every single year.
  3. I think my bigger issue is that he's fall under the typical "group think" thing we have around here. One person starts to like a player and suddenly, tons of other people seem to join in.
  4. Why is McDowell the hot name all of a sudden? I get we traded Timmy but I wouldn't read into things too much. Supremely talented player but a ton of question marks that come along with him. I would not be considering him at 16 at this point.
  5. I cannot wait until this 2 and a half week period is over. We've officially hit my least favorite part of draft season, which is the period of useless speculation. Too many people overthinking things - reading into who has and hasn't visited, who the FO didn't talk about in the presser, and who the current flavor of the week is. None of it ends up mattering.
  6. It's... interesting lol. It's hilarious but so over the top at the same time.
  7. It's an "up to" though so I imagine there are plenty of incentives and option years that don't have to be picked up. Wouldn't shock me if this is just another 1 year deal.
  8. I'd guess it might be similar to Carr's deal. Low signing bonus with options/roster bonuses in years 2 and 3. Mostly a paper move.
  9. Excited to officially have Webb back. Perfect depth piece in the secondary that we know can play a myriad of roles if needed. Should slot in really well as our 5th/6th DB after coming on strong at his new position late last year.
  10. All posts on my last day might just be pictures of Lindsey Duke. You're welcome.
  11. In my eyes, these are the guys that should definitely go before 16: Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Malik Hooker, Jamal Adams, Leonard Fournette, Marshon Lattimore, OJ Howard, Reuben Foster, and Jonathan Allen (pending health). That would leave us with the possibility of the following (guys I think will go in this range, not necessarily my favorites or guys I think the Ravens would pick): Derek Barnett, Haason Reddick, Corey Davis, John Ross, Mike Williams, Ryan Ramczyk, Gareon Conley, Mitchell Trubisky Obviously, there would be a couple there that you hope go before we're up, but I think we're in a pretty good position. And as always, there will likely be someone that goes in the early teens that you don't expect right now.
  12. Santa Clarita Diet... Oh my.
  13. It's clear you have 0 concept of depth.
  14. Yep. Lack of athleticism didn't play anymore at CB, but you can get away with it at S. He's always been a smart and disciplined player, and that's why he was able to rebound.
  15. Did you not watch Webb last year? He was a quality starter who made a huge difference for us. He might not have been a playmaker but he played smart, solid football. Getting him back as depth is a no brainer.
  16. I like the idea of having Webb back but I'm not getting my hopes up until someone other than La Canfora reports it.
  17. Please post which players are available via trade here. We opened this thread last year to keep it out of the discussion thread and it worked very well. It makes it easier if you post the players' names and the stars associated. The opposing team is acquiring the base salary, while your team is saving the amount from the cap savings column. Yes, some of the bonuses do disappear but we're doing what we can for ease.
  18. Bundy is a bull out there. He doesn't back away from anyone. Always attacks and isn't afraid to throw any pitch.
  19. So do I. Meant a ton to the USC run defense. Might not do much else other than stuff the run but in the 6th, that's more than okay. I was trying to plan ahead when I was still in this thing and you were the one I singled out as the most likely to take him.
  20. No joke. Had I stayed in the game, Big Stevie was my target at the pick right after you. I was planning to trade up for him too.
  21. I've actually been making that comment for a couple of weeks now - the Jernigan trade just added more confusion. What direction do you actually see right now? We've yet to really fill any long term holes other than Jefferson. Carr is a stopgap fill in but everything else doesn't make much sense as they are kind of contradictory moves. Why keep Pitta and Watson, and sign Woodhead if we're planning for the future? That's where you let the young guys roll and see if you actually have a viable option for the future. Again, I think the correct answer is always that you build for the present while also building for the future, but I don't see that right now. I've always maintained that there's still a draft to go so things can always change, but I don't see a clear direction. Williams is a very good player but we just invested $11M a year into a guy who mainly plugs gaps and stops the run. I like keeping him but those aren't the guys you give huge money to. In regards to Jernigan specifically, I think he's overrated. With that being said, he's honestly probably the best pass rusher, including the edge guys, that we currently have on this team. I'm sure there are some other things that came into play, which I've freely admitted, but on the surface, it looks like a really bad trade on our end unless more information comes out. Meanwhile, our pass rush has gotten worse, the offensive line looks absolutely horrible, Perriman is now a #2 WR. I don't think we should just go gung ho and get a guy to fill a hole regardless of price, but I do not believe at this time that we've been smart about how the cap we had was spent.

  23. I'd be so angry if I still had 6.20. So close but such a long delay.
  24. More in running situations though. Not in true nickel sets. They certainly played together but I don't think you can expect Pierce to be a pass rushing presence in the mold of Jernigan.
  25. Well then that goes back to my other argument where I have no idea which direction this team is heading, but that's a whole different argument in and of itself. Again, Pierce and Jernigan are not comparable. Pierce will play some 3T but it's not going to be as a pass rusher. He's a competent pass rusher for a NT but he's not a guy that's going to go out there and shoot gaps like Jernigan could. They do not function in the same role, and they do not have the same skill set. Furthermore, it's nice to get a 25 spot bump but I don't think it benefits us all that much. Sure, we get a better prospect than we might have otherwise but it's still the draft where anything can happen. I'd rather us have gotten an early 4th straight up, even with a small drop in value, to have that extra pick to fill one of the holes that we've pretty much yet to fill this offseason. I just don't see the value for us, creating another hole.
