  1. If Mosley had stepped out of bounds, the offense would have found a way to squander the score anyway. I dont blame him for trying, although it kind of sucked. Flacco would go 3 and out, kick a 10 yard FG maybe if they are lucky.
  2. the smart move is to just sit him until after the bye. if we can go 2-1 the next 3 weeks, and come back with him healthy instead of iffy every week, it will be a much better scenario. if he keeps playing at 75%, you just have monroe 2.0 not knowing your lineup every single week.
  3. If urschel plays decently, i think next week they should sit zuttah and play him at center. there is no way anyone can be worse than zuttah.
  4. he was not even close to covering crabtree, who is a mediocre receiver, 3 times in the endzone and picked apart easily all day. clearly no cover skills. it is appalling that the ravens coaching staff resigned this dude unless he was to be the 4th or 5th on the depth chart. again, we passed on drafting a decent corner this year and instead went with correa and kaufusi, who both look slow. any time your best attribute is a "high motor", that is a red flag. i am getting pretty concerned about the evaluation skills at the edges. jimmy smith is ok, but they are still yet to draft a decent receiver, safety or cornerback since ed reed and webb. they can't even seem to hit on free agents.
  5. I am not impressed by Trestman and think his play selection absolutely sucks, but frankly it seems like it has not really changed much from cameron, kubiak or anyone else. for some reason, they could just block slightly better under kubiak for whatever reason. we still cant execute a decent screen or quick slant, even though the entire league can. flacco cannot find an open down field receiver to save his life. everything is a struggle. unless the game plan is completely inept every single game, at some point the players have to execute the plays, no matter what they are, better. if he calls a dreaded stretch handoff for zero yards 3 times in a row, unless they block it is never going to work. if they block someone could break a run for 30 yards. it is all up to the guys on the field, and more importantly, if flacco can't audible out of a play destined to be bad, it would explain a lot about why they are so horrible all the time.
  6. forget just the harbaugh regime (but certainly included and equally as bad) ... ravens have just never been able to figure the offensive formula out under billick, harbs, marchibroda.
  7. This just goes to show you, the draft hype that leads to nowhere. Maxx Williams is a completely ineffective pro TE and marginal special teams player. He was touted as the best TE in the entire draft in 2015. Waller and Boyle, 5th and 6th rounders the same year have both looked far better. Nutty.
  8. rewind to almost any post game comments for the past 8 years and the same crap spews out of his mouth. we are working to get better, the offense is ready to break out. there is absolutely no solid play calling or tempo to the offense unless flacco is in no huddle out of the shotgun. the basically waste 30-40 minutes of game time on offense floundering around trying to get something established, when the other teams are ripping these defenses apart. clueless coaching and game planning.
  9. this team is embarrassing to watch. there is absolutely no tenacity or aggressive mindset by the offense outside of SSS. oh well, we pissed away another scoring chance, we'll get em next time.. if you can't get your offense going at home, and it is lethargic every single game for 2 quarters, for 5 seasons in a row, through 3 offensive coordinators, and many personnel, there is a major problem. no matter who is there, the same problems exist. the only constants are flacco and harbaugh. he has had enough time to make this work, i think harbs is gone if they fail to make the playoffs. i predict they lose their next 3 and go into the bye 3-4. if that happens we may not get to 6 wins and he would surely be done.
  10. it is just disappointing to see this every game. i hear the same excuses every week. they have been through how many OC's and still the same problems remain. The only constant is Flacco and Harbaugh. I dont think they will ever figure it out and have a potent offense. This is just how it is and we are stuck with crappy execution, save 2 or 3 drives a game. hopefully the defense will be good enough to keep us in games. This is the NFL - there are no "easy" wins. Every team has issues. Did you see the Bills destroy the Cardinals? How about the powerful Pittsburgh offense only scoring 3 points? Or the Vikings without their starting QB, RB & LT beat up Cam? Julio Jones only had 1 catch - he must be terrible and the Falcons should fire their OC.....smh. The offense has so many new/different players playing together for the 1st time - Trestman is trying out every combo to see what works, what doesn't. They will narrow down those that work. 3-0! 3 AND 0! Quit whining..... stating facts there buzz. its great they are winning, but at some point they are going to play an opponent who is not going to bail them out with a stupid penalty. the steelers have a stinker once in a while, but are not lethargic and non productive almost every game for 6 years. Atlanta scored 45 points. I am not too worried about who catches the TDs as long as they are occurring. if you cant see the pattern here with this offense and its lack of production, you are wearing blinders. they are 23-25 from 2013-2015 and the O doesn't look any better this year.

  12. They are confident? Not me. We will continue to kick 5 FG's a game until we get another qb. (at least on a consistent basis) They have been saying this for 9 years. We need to get better, we need to stop making poor decisions. Frankly it is ridiculous at this point for Flacco to be so stymied by defenses that he cannot make audibles and correct reads. I personally just think although he is an accurate passer and can get hot against the right team, he just can not perform any better than what he has shown thus far. Inconsistent and questionable control of the offensive scheme. They run the exact same handoff play on every first down and get no yardage. That is not effective offense. No pulling lineman. No blocking down with motion. Just hand it off to Forsett and run into the pile for no gain. Completely inept either on the players or coaching staff. Wake up Baltimore. The awfulness of his play is proven by the fact that he completed 20 passes in a row, and we failed to score a touchdown and his passing rating ended up with a 64 rating and 5 yard per completion average. Meaningless stats if you cant convert. There is no attacking mentality in this team and every time they secure a lead, they sit on it and completely shut down.
  13. The offense is horrendous. It has been stale, predictable, with crappy execution going on 5 or 6 years now. The only common denominator is Flacco and Harbaugh. One or both of those guys are completely inept offensively on a week to week basis. It should not be a struggle to complete a smooth offensive series a few times a game, yet rarely if ever, they complete one of those drives. Without the 1 66 yard catch, the offense was lethargic and poor the entire game against a team with a bunch of starting guys out on D, and probably not a playoff contender.
  14. Lewis has earned the start by virtue of his health, the chemistry they have going in camp and his solid performance so far. I think you go with the 2 rookies on the left unless there is some major issue and he looks lost. There is going to be a learning curve and he has the potential to be better at guard. Urschel is a center and can fill in should Zuttah look bad.
  15. let's go sign a cornerback now.
  16. I would not have minded picking this guy up on the cheap, but this does not seem like a wise allocation of funds. The veteran free agent contracts in recent years are getting sloppy and every one of these costly moves (Pitta, Webb, Ngata, Evans, etc.) are really preventing the team from picking up every down players. How many snaps will Hester be on the field? 8 a game? Why are they wasting money there, when a quality LB or CB would play 30 snaps or more.
  17. I think if you are on the roster for the week 1 game, the salary is guaranteed. it is not based on this cut down roster deadline. so they would need to wait until the tuesday after the Bills game if that were the case. so apparently, they are desperate enough to give him the full contract, whatever that may be.
  18. No doubt more moves are coming. This is sort of just a temporary mandated deadline. I think they will pick up a released lineman and replace Hurst, definitely pick up a secondary or safety, and possibly release elam (i thought they already did that?) I dont think there would be any concern of anyone touching him anyway even if they did want to bring him back after his injury. I wouldnt mind another interior linebacker with coverage skills too.
  19. I sort of liked Butler, as he was basically the only WR that produced anything in the preseason, and none of the other guys outside of Moore seem to be special teams contributors. But I am not really going to get upset about the 6th receiver being dropped, as he probably wouldnt have seen many snaps anyway. Thank god the arthur brown, elam, brooks era is over. the drafts were horrid. Remaining players, starting with 2009 - 1, 2010 - 1, 2011 - 1, 2012 - 0, 2013 - 4. That is 5 years of draft, and it only yielded 7 players. Scary. Hope that was just a bad run and we can start rebuilding the depth.
  20. I would love to see campanaro gone. constant hype with almost no production and 2 years on IR, already been out injured this preseason. no way he will survive more than 2 games in a row and is a waste of a roster spot. i think they would wait until after week 1 to sign hester if needed, since his veteran salary would not be guaranteed and they could cut him if he does not work out. that would be low risk if they wait until after "opening day" rosters.
  21. They whiffed again on CB this year and did not address that position strongly enough in free agency. No idea why that is a low priority every year when it is clear you cannot keep up if you do not have at least 3-4 solid DB's. Maybe we will get lucky and some decent veteran will be let go. If we are stuck with Wright, Powers and Davis as our next 3 behind Jimmy (who is not that great either) we are in trouble again. Couple that with inside LB's who can't cover and it is no wonder we get ripped for 300-400 yards a game passing. Correa and Kaufusi were wasted picks as clearly evidenced that they have not even sniffed reps with the first team. We need to either pick a starting caliber CB via trade, or sign someone and get rid of Powers.
  22. I think the long run on undrafted FA's making the roster was as much a result of poor early round drafting and injuries than anything. Starting back with Kindle and Cody, it seems like at least 1 or 2 of them are complete busts or injured every year and that allows a undrafted guy to sneak in. Mostly they are fringe role players. Tucker, is obviously the exception being extremely solid if not top tier. Orr has really come on, and could be good also. Is there a list of all the guys in the past years who have made it?
  23. i know they are anxious to see him in a live game, but i cannot see the 4th preseason game is worth the risk playing him with a bunch of hacks on the field. he has not been able to stay healthy. i would rather hold him out until buffalo and see what he can do once the regular season starts. if he goes down with a strained hammy running against the 3rd team defense in a meaningless game, heads are going to roll.
  24. I have to agree. Raise the roster to 75+, eliminate the practice squad. Large roster allows teams to rotate players and sit some with minor injuries. Current bubble players would not be lost to other teams and could continue development with the team--may even get valuable playing time. Starting in August may mean a few more night/dome games early on to keep guys from dropping in the heat in some cities. There are not 75 quality players. Teams can barely field 50 NFL caliber contributors. Where would they come up with an additional 25? Basically you would be paying 25 guys who would never play.
  25. How about the rookie back Dixon? Are you saying he is released or what? IR...I think i dont think Dixon is going to be placed on any restricted injury list. He will probably make the 53 roster and they will just treat his injury as week to week so he can come back when he is healthy. Since they have 3 other backs, they can afford to scratch him for a few weeks.
