Again....no killer instinct. Our defense is far from as good as it was in 2000 to carry the team. Field goals and a decent defense will only go so far.
When your "star" QB absorbs so much of the teams salary- the rest of your weapons are going to be a crap shoot, etc. Go ask the Saints, they will tell you.
Yes, Drew Brees (NOT to compare Flacco with Brees- only how the major contract affects the REST of the team) is a great QB, however, the Saints............ (you all can complete the sentence)

Get over the salary issue and get behind the team. The griping of some of the fans is just getting ridiculous. We are not perfect that's for sure but I'll take this kind of win every week if necessary.

You can take a flawed product all you like. If you are satisfied with it and accept sub par performances- that is sad.

There is, however, one thing that maddened me considerably abot this Cowboys game: that "two-minute drill"... I must make it clerar that I've always been a solid member of the pro-Flacco team, and I still am.  That, however, won't keep me from saying again that he is having a disastrous season. Right now I'm not even convinced he's a better option than Mallett. NOW, not in general. And the best example was that comedy the O presented as their final drive... Less than 2 minutes and 2 scores to make, he made throw after throw to the middle, with no real chance for the targets to make it out of bounds. And then - and this was the real blood-boiling paert... Flacco just jogs up to the LOS, with no apparent sense of urgency whatsoever, like time was of no concern at all... That gentlemen's tempo alone made it impossiblée to even create the chance of another possiession if they scored... which they didn't, because I'm, quite sure they lostz at least 30 seconds with the constant passes to the middle, and Flacco's apparent unineterest in at least making it look like he was in any kind of hurry... I'm not saying of course that we lost because of that - but that alone took away any chance of a win.

Sadly, that's been the story all year.  No sense of urgency.  Walking up to the LoS nonchalantly.  Running the ball with :30 on the clock and a need for a TD.  Unfortunately, it didn't start yesterday.  I have screamed at the TV in every one of these close losses in which we needed to score in the last minute or two.

Great point! I bet that Mallett can be as better / better than Joe- contrary to what people are basing their sentiments / facts on.
Mallett did beat Pittsburgh last year- with less weapons. He has more than likely 'matured' while he has been here.
I wish they would have a fan vote, either Flacco or Mallett. I know that the brass does not want a controversy given they are paying Joe a pooload of money. Lets vote......or picket M and T !

My five thoughts and I think we have shown that we can compete with the best in the league now that we have got ourselves in a little better position. Had we won two of those four we lost, we would be looking like superstars but here are my 5 thoughts.

If everyone is healthy and ghost players like Dumervil finally show up,

1 Bengals - we will beat them twice
2 Dolphins - not what people thought they would be
3 Eagles - have been figured out
4 Steelers - did it once, can do it again
5 Patriots - okay, so we may lose one, but this one isn't out of reach.

The NFL is fluid and to say at the beginning of the year that the Ravens toughest stretch will be at the end was a little premature. They can easily go 5-1 during this run and end up being a 10-6 team.

unless the offense improves they will lose many of these games

Roger that Fusumyada. (Some fans get real gassy when they drink too much of the purple kool-aid. I'll hope for a 10-6 team, although I'll accept the reality of it)

  5. Why Dallas won. My take:

-By us playing wayyyy to soft before halftime- thus, giving Dallas the tying field goal gave them momentum. That was sick to watch.
-I am not sure what happened to our intensity. All the pressure we were applying to Prescott appeared to have left after halftime. Why?
-Penalties again were crippling. If we are playing the best- you have to play near flawless to come away the victor.
*side note: a VERY commendable job to our QB considering the loss. I have been a major critic. I will give credit where due.
    -Lets get Cinncy next week!

  6. OK...,grant it, "passion" really isn't the issue. Lets talk about Joes issues. It appears to many that Joe has gotten out of his funk- at home, and against Cleveland. Woopdefreakindo. Well see where this fiasco is going / went, come Sunday afternoon.....The only issue I will continue to bring up is his pocket presence- he has none. For years, the defense can give him the entire OPEN field right in front of his face....he can run- and well (although not pretty; other QBs do it, and to help their team win). If he cant slide safely, that's his own stupidity and as a team-,and a vested fan were paying for it. Also, more importantly, we all know it- hell stay in the pocket WAY to long. I'm already tired of brining this up......errrrrr.
Look at our record and his QB rating since the Super Bowl.

BTW: Joe and his agent were both passion enough about pinning us against the wall with his mega-contract. So?........

Flacco has NEVER been a good regular season QB. Ray Lewis,Vinnie & Rob or Mike Preston don't have to tell you that . The man was motivated to get his big pay day and he's just collecting a check at this point. Draft a Qb Ravens, he won't get any better.

Can you imagine the players we could've added for his money if we kept tyrod for nothing for a few years?

Yes! Yes! and Yes! I even harped on that with regards to the Orioles wasting their money when they resigned Chris Davis. SMH

Awesome!......however, can you leave Joes pathetic QB rating of 66% on the road, at home. That's our mega-millionaire franchise QB.
Lets hope Joe gets his head out of his a-- !
    Go Ravens, Go franchise-QB!

So if you were the Ravens GM you would have been ok with signing a QB like Mark Sanchez right after the Super Bowl WIN?

Short term yes- however, I am quite aware Joe and his agent had the Ravens FO backed up against the wall..
Asides from the Segway....again, lets ALL hope that Joe gets his head out of his butt. (Sanchez only ran into one :)
