A month ago I would have never thought we would be in this positions as Ozzie typically waits for bargain signings and the draft to fill our holes. We may have to draft an OT to back up Monroe in the draft but we have our starter until he proves otherwise. Monroe is good when healthy so we may need a back up plan. Not a primary plan. Ravens are great at finding talented Guards and pass rushers in the draft. CB is going to be tough. Very few rookies can come in and start at the NFL level right away and there are not many options in FA. I bet we draft one and pray someone decent gets cut as the rosters develop. Remember there are still cuts to come and Ozzie is patient.
I wonder what kind of reception he will receive from Steelers fans. I would guess not good lol. This is weird!
What's so weird about it? Jacoby played on the Steelers for a season and I don't think anyone in Baltimore cared one bit.

In fact, if you go by Passer Rating- Tannehill was better than Joe in 2014 and Bridgewater was better than Flacco last year. Just saying. But there's little doubt that Mike Wallace is a significant improvement to the Ravens' receiving corps. I'm loving all the FA activity by the Ravens this offseason. When you go 5-11 I guess you gotta change things a bit from what you normally do. The Ravens haven't exactly struck gold with their comp picks the last 5 years anyhow, so why not sign some Free Agents?
Just curious...are your stats based on completed passes over 20yd? That is what matters to me when discussing Wallace. QBR doesnt matter to me as our team was in shambles last year.

A one year deal worth 3 million I could stomach, But this is throwing away $$$.I really hope we can cut him after one year cause he won't be productive.
That's the spirit! Fact is he is a Raven now and should have the same support we give all new players. I would bet that by week 3 we will be glad he is here.
This should take some pressure off of Perriman and allow him to develop as he needs.
Couple things...get Mike Wallace signed today.
As far as that mock draft... how can Cleveland or Dallas not take Qbs?
Browns have nobody after cutting Maziel, and dont sell me on Josh McCown a career journeyman, Dallas needs Romos replacement..hes broke his collarbone like 3x in 3 yrs. Now hes 36-37.. he only has a couple yrs left
It will all depend on where Kap and RGIII go. CLE is interested in Kap. DAL "says" they wont pick a QB in the first. It's possible no one takes a QB in which case our #6 may fetch a high price to teams looking to move up ahead of SF. Personally I think SF should see how Kap does under Chip Kelly in which case CLE takes a QB. DAL may be blowing hot air and take one as well. Thats the best case for us at least. It will most likely be somewhere in the middle where 1 QB is taken ahead of us.
Poor young Bell doesn't realize the only thing that is too late is his arrival to the Steelers. Ben is breaking down in front of our eyes. Steelers hate aside, Bell is a fantastic young player but unfortunately for him, he is a few years too late
how is he a baller with zero int last year.....this is a what have you done lately for me league....
I remember reading that Weddle was unhappy with the Chargers last year. Something about being fined by the team for staying on the field to watch his daughter during a half time show. I think that progressed into the team putting him on IR for the end of the season to punish him and make him look hurt before he became a free agent. Really, really shifty moves from the Chargers organization if true. I think he even ran full speed during a practice to show the press he was not injured. Family first, he is going to light it up this year, just watch. Welcome to BMore Eric. Happy to have you
So no comp picks, next year. Sign Wallace now. I dont understand Weddle hes good and all but we have like 10 safeties. Now where does this put us on Ramsey? I thought he was important. I guess Ozzie fears he aint sliding to 6
Ramsey may be the #1 pick of the draft. No way he makes it to #6. Good move by the FO.
If this guy has half the character and passion that SSS has shown he will be a huge addition to our team

I still feel like the Cowboys take a QB even though they said they wouldnt. Why would ayone believe anything that any team says before the draft. Seriously.

That's right. He is dead to me now. ![]()
Sounds like sour grapes to me. I think he felt offended that we didint offer him what he wanted. After we signed Yanda last year he should have seen the writing on the wall. Most players are only in it to make as much money as they can while they can. A few select players around the league find a home and love their teams. We broke NGata's heart by trading him away while people like Kruger or KO could really care less where they play. Good luck to KO while he kills time in OAK before moving on to the next place in a few years. Money is great but time and memories are more valuable.
broke Ngatas heart? Where did you read that. If it broke his heart so much, he would have restructured his contract to stay with the team. The reason we traded him was because he was not willing to negotiate.

Take a breath. It was just a comment. I have always thought Ngata loved being in Baltimore selling chicken, hanging with Suggs, being comfortable at castle and M&T like owning the school your senior year. He was a big part of our team and community and even though he was being stubborn with his contracts I dont think he saw the trade coming. I guess I should have said that I dont think he or his teammates thought he would be sent packing because I thought he felt like this was home. I DO think we made the right move by trading him. I just think some players care and some dont. So my looong winded point is that I dont think KO cared about the Ravens so we should just let it go.
The fact that the Ravens couldn't or didn't want to pay you 12MM a year doesn't mean they don't appreciate the O-line KO! Remember we have the best Guard in football (Yanda) who only makes a little under 8MM a year! Good luck in Oakland but don't say we don't care about our O-line because we do.
Exactly! Not every fan base loves their Lineman like we do here in Baltimore. I mean Yanda is probably top 5 most loved players on the team! Maybe a little experience elsewhere will open KO's eyes.

I am of the opinion that the FO is working to shore up the offense in FA so we can take the best defensive players available in the draft. They may keep Monroe, bring in a vet that can play T or G and have Hurst and Urshcel as backup/rotating players.
So I guess we now all know what everyone will be complaining about next year.12.6mil cap hit? I sure hope Jimmy plays the way we all know he can. Lights out!
When I read the headline my first thought was that we are finally letting go of Arthur Brown but Marlon Brown will do just the same.
Hope we are able to bring back Trawick
Purely speculation, of course... but still: I hear Osweiler has reached agreement with the Texans. If he really signs there, the Broncos will suddenly be without a serivceable QB. Given their draft position, they're unlikely to land a plug-n-play QB in the draft without considerable sacrifices, and the QB free agent market is rather thin, to put it mildly. Mosstly these Cassell-, Schaub-, Clausen-, Weeden-type ones, hardly the kind you could trust an offense on. Although Kubiak showed that he can win a ring with a game managing QB (sorry, Peyton, but last season that was the truth...), somehow I don't think they would want to go trhrough it again, if they can help it. The only QB on the list I think could, in principle, be a legit starting QB is RGIII - I somehow don't think Fitzpatrick is one.
Why am I writing all this here? We have a backup QB who could be a valid starting QB - if the trade offer was fair enough...
I like where you are going. I think Mallet could fit Kubiaks system better than RGIII or even Kap if he gets released. We could keep Clausen as our backup because if Joe goes down does it really matter who the backup is? Do they have anyone that would fit a trade that does not involve draft picks?
I don't know who most of these "Draftniks" are but if Tunsil is there at 6 you will see us running to the podium. If there is one thing we know about mock drafts it's that they are always wrong. I'm still hoping someone will trade up to pick a second QB ahead of us. SD could also surprise and take a OT. That could make 2 OT and 2 QB's taken ahead of us. Wishful thinking
Didnt KO say repeatedly that he doesnt want to play Tackle? I wish him the best in Oakland but that much money...Let's just say that is the typical set up for failure when a Raven leaves the flock. Money = expectations. I believe KO will be successful, at guard.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports the Ravens are a "strong contender" for free agent FS Rodney McLeod.
McLeod is a very underrated centerfield-type safety who can also lay a lick on a receiver despite his 5'10/193 frame. Losing McLeod on the same day RCB Janois Jenkins left for the Giants would be a tough blow to the Rams, who have said their main objective is to lock up their secondary. The Ravens are in the market for a deep safety to pair with SS Will Hill.

Where would this leave Webb?
He isn't gone yet. It's still a chance. He can take the money but what good does it bring if he's not winning. That has to be taken into account as well. We'll see what he does. Hopefully he stays!
I share in your rationalization that there are other things to consider when choosing a team but year after year I am proven wrong. The players only chase the most money. I cant blame them but those of us that think team matters are fooling ourselves. They always follow the highest bid. Thats typically all they care about. This is their lottery ticket and they need to cash in for all they can.
I feel to bring in Pacman Jones would be like spitting on the Ravens shield. No class. Too much history.
I feel KO will be one of the few Ravens players that leaves and has a good career. His talent is not dependent on our system. We all knew this was coming from the day we re-signed Yanda last year. Ozzie had to choose between 2 pro bowl guards and he thankfully chose Yanda. Good luck KO and thank you for all of your quiet hard work. You are a true mauler.

The Patriots are upset because deep down they know they are at the end of their dominance whereas we are in the middle/prime of ours. Flacco younger than Brady, Harbaugh younger than Billicheck, Biscotti younger than Kraft. They are in their twilight years thank god. My only question is if the media will begin to give us the respect we deserve now that Manning is out and Brees, Ben and Brady are not far behind. I personally don't see the fascination they have with the QB's not mentioned above like Luck or Rivers.
