  1. While a good draft will help, even a top 5 pick in every round is not going to fix all of our problems in 1 year.
  2. I am convinced that all of our experienced, qualified staff has left the building with Pagano & Kubiak. We can not scout and draft WR, S or CB. The ones that we do draft or bring in generally do not improve telling me they are not being coached properly. All of the coaching talent behind the scenes that most of us has never heard of is failing.
  3. I hope he realizes the personal attacks were not from true Ravens fans but a small minority that goes online to complain about everything they know nothing about. I can't wait to see Perriman burning defenders next season.
  4. I'm pretty hard on our players and coaches but come on, this kid was just in college 6 months ago. He has dreamed his whole life of playing in the NFL. Against all odds he makes it and is a first round draft pick. This is not his fault. Crap happens. Let's give Breshad some support here and hope he can let his body heal for next year. Ravens Nation is behind you Breshad.
  5. You are right. Opening the entire play to scrutiny would be a nightmare as there will always be more than one violation found on a typical play. I guess we have the system we have and should just get used to the refs missing more calls as the game gets too fast for them. We as fans are probably just seeing more of them now that technology has shown us more.
  6. And what would be the problem with allowing every play within the final 2 minutes of the half and end of game reviewable? There is nothing more infuriating than having a ticky tac play with 1:30 to go and hearing that the refs have to initiate the review but so seldomly do.
  7. I am so sick of hearing people say "well you shouldn't have allowed the score to be so close". That is the most unintelligent quote you can say imho. The whole reason sports are fun to watch is because it is a challenge. It's the close, nail biter games that are the best games in sports history. Stadiums clear out with 5 minutes to go when the score isnt close, they change the channel. Heck, the television stations change the game they are broadcasting when it is not close at the end.
  8. I agree with you. I am not one of those fans who has been saying "if we only had Torrey and Bolden..." I am only making the statement that we need to stop saying that "insert player" isnt playing well after they left so Ozzie made the right call. Those players excelled here because of the system. A lot of them would have continued to excell here but the cap is the cap.
  9. No worries I understand what you are saying. I'm only pointing out that you cant make the argument for past players based on what they are doing on their current teams if you wont at least concider the effect staying may have had on their careers in Baltimore. Also, the "argurment killer" you state about Pollard has no relevance as I never mentioned him.
  10. That's an unfair way of evaluating the skill level of those players. We will never know how this team could have excelled over the past 3 years had Joe had the stability and consistency with his recievers. We as fans often comfort ourselves by watching our players that leave underachieve on their new teams. That is just a way to make ourselves feel better. Jacoby excelled here because we didnt really ask him to be a WR. He had a job and did it well. Same goes for many of our pass rushing specialists. They fit a need on our team and did it well only to come up short trying to expand their role on a new team. Boldin allowed Joe to just throw it up and Torrey allowed Joe to go deep often with either a big catch or PI call. It is obvious now how much Flacco needs receivers of those types.
  11. There is a bigger picture here. It's not just the vets that have left but also the players that have been brought in. There was a concious effort to change the image of our team.
  12. I have a nagging feeling the soul of this team has been systematically dismantled after the SB. Both by the cap but also by Harbaugh. I like John and think he is one of the best HC in the league but maybe he should have not tried to change what was not broken. If he couldnt handle the strong personalities that have been the emotional soul of our team he should have accepted a job with a less agressive team. Hope I am wrong
  13. So this is how Brown's fans feel? I have to say, I am the type of fan who lives and dies with the team. I get so emotionally involved a win puts me in a good mood all week and a loss sits in my stomach like a personal tragedy. This year though, I feel nothing. We win 2 games and it just doesnt feel the same because the season is a wash. 7 losses and I am used to it so even the last minute loss yesterday just made me get off the couch, shake my head and go do other interests that are not football. I used to record and watch 5 games every Sunday. Now it is just 1. I dont know how Brown's fans do it.
  14. Whew, that as close. We almost won one there and that would have hurt the only thing we have to play for this season. A top 5 draft pick in every round. Not the season we want but it's the season we got.
  15. What if Ozzie has been allowing DeCosta to make the selections over the past few years as a at of transitioning out? God I hope that s not the case
  16. Sheeeww, and I thought the reason we have such an aweful defense is because Pees is a timid no balls DC that isnt able to get our guys ready for game day. Good to know it's because of 6 plays. We could be 8-0 without those 6 plays going against us. But wait, I guess PIT and SD could say they only lost to us because of a couple key plays. So he is not even able to come up with a real excuse. Why is he still here?
  17. I agree Enough with the talk of bolden and Torrey If there is one guy I miss more than any other it is Kubiak. I had a year to see how good our offense could be with one of the top OC in the league running the show. What a difference. That was a good year for me
  18. As awful as it was watching Smith Sr get hurt it may turn out to be the only way he would consider coming back next year when we might actually have a chance at a title
  19. Ed Reed was a free safety Matt Elam is a strong safety
  20. Fans don't include the 08 draft in what is becoming a rash of bad drafts for Ozzie. If you paid attention you would know that
  21. From our outside perspective SSS sounds like he is going to retire to spend time with his family and there is nothing more important to him than not missing out on their lives anymore. He has proven he doesn't need to have his hand held to practice and stay in shape so why doesn't Harbough agree that he can play another year and have off for his wife's bday, couple of kids games, ect.. It seems to me SSS is one of those guys who could just show up for the games and still kick but. Question is can Harbs open his tunnel vision mind to allow this to happen?
  22. I would be happy if the only other game we win is against PIT. 2-14 but screw the steelers
  23. Well I guess we will all get to see exactly what type of fans we are. I am starting to want to lose every game so we can get a high draft pick. I have never in my life felt that way. I heard the other day the Browns have one of the largest fan clubs in the NFL. How do they do it year in and year out. We will all need to stand together as fans and continue to support our team. Let all the bandwagoners go and play golf on Sundays. I will be right here supporting my team. As hard as that may be right now. Go Ravens!
  24. I totally agree that the offense has scored points and Flacco is heading for big stats and yes the defense continues to lose leads late. I guess it just seems to me that there is no offensive rythem. It "appeared" that Flacco threw in the towel at the end of the game last week and Harbs had to use a time out because he couldnt believe the play that was called in.
