  1. Why are we considering that Suggs would play somewhere else? What do you think the market for an almost 34 year old coming off of his second achilles injury is? The Ravens and Suggs will rework his current deal and all will be well. Suggs is loyal and hasn't forgotten that Biscotti honored his contract the last time he tore his achilles playing basketball. Biscotti could've ripped up that contract, but he didn't.

  2. Had Steve Smith or Crockett Gilmore made tough catches on the last drive those of you pointing about all of the mistakes yesterday would now be saying how great everything is. This was always going to be a tough game and it's a shame we didn't win. On to the next one. The Raiders may have bigger injury worries than us with Carr and Woodson both looking like they had serious injuries yesterday.

  3. OK, a couple of things about Suggs' injury - or, more precisely, about his absence for the season:

1.) His encouraging tweet is great - but a tweet won't make sacks and manage the D... Not against Suggs of course - but let's not see too much into a single tweet.

2.) "Next man up" sounds great as a slogan - but it means precious little if that certain next man is someone who's light years behind the guy he replaces...

3.) It's nice to compare this situation to when Ray Lewis was out for half the season - but who was it that admitted that without Ray the D sometimes looked like a ship that lost direction? Yep, Suggs. Now, how's the D gonna look like without "today's Ray"? That said, the D was the usual quality for most of the game, and we can only hope that Suggs' absence won't change that too much. I trust Pees is good enough to account for that and change the strategies accordingly.

I have the foreboding that it's not the D that's gonna make it hard for us this season...

I'm having a hard time following this post. Do you like the D or not?

  4. Here are the spots where I think people are really fighting for the last spots:

(who I believe they'll keep are in bold)

    RB Magee v Toussaint

S Trawick v Levine (they might just keep 4 in which case both are gone)

DB Perry v Pointer v Walker

DE Bilkudi v Kapron v Tyson

Jah Reid is probably the odd man out on the O-line so I bet they're desperately trying to trade him. Unfortunately we've got 9 quality offensive linemen counting Jah.

We are going to have a pretty strong practice squad it looks like

  5. Steve Smith doesn't need the likes of Jamieson Hensley telling him he needs to keep his cool. His 'fight' Saturday was to make sure Washington knew the Ravens were tired of all the cheap shots. he surely wouldn't get thrown of a game in the regular season when the game was on the line. Hensley should just stick to sending out his begging tweets that attempt to get people to click thru to the Joe Flacco commercial link so he can earn his keep at ESPN.

  6. There is really no reason to point out who may be cut once you've already named the locks and bubble players. Especially when you consider that several of those on the cut list will make the practice squad and could feature in the 53 at some point. Remember these guys are fighting for their futures and it's probably crushing to go on the team website and see your name next to 'projected cut'. A little compassion please.
