I think its much ado about nothing.
I don't even think a reworked contract is going to happen or is even necessary. Suggs has no incentive to change anything, and the Ravens basically can't cut him.
I expect him to be back here in 2016 and angry...
Let's hope
Why are we considering that Suggs would play somewhere else? What do you think the market for an almost 34 year old coming off of his second achilles injury is? The Ravens and Suggs will rework his current deal and all will be well. Suggs is loyal and hasn't forgotten that Biscotti honored his contract the last time he tore his achilles playing basketball. Biscotti could've ripped up that contract, but he didn't.
I doubt that very much beside ""Babin, 35, was released by the Jets at final cuts after managing just two sacks in 16 games last season."
Who was the HC of the Jets last season? I'll give you one guess.........
Coach knows him from his days in Phila. Good move as he is a good situational pass rusher.
Harbaugh left Philly to join the Ravens before Babin was with the Eagles. I imagine Rex Ryan was asked his opinion on Babin as well as any contacts coach still has in Philly.
"I have the foreboding that it's not the D that's gonna make it hard for us this season..."
Got it...you like the D
Had Steve Smith or Crockett Gilmore made tough catches on the last drive those of you pointing about all of the mistakes yesterday would now be saying how great everything is. This was always going to be a tough game and it's a shame we didn't win. On to the next one. The Raiders may have bigger injury worries than us with Carr and Woodson both looking like they had serious injuries yesterday.
OK, a couple of things about Suggs' injury - or, more precisely, about his absence for the season:
1.) His encouraging tweet is great - but a tweet won't make sacks and manage the D... Not against Suggs of course - but let's not see too much into a single tweet.
2.) "Next man up" sounds great as a slogan - but it means precious little if that certain next man is someone who's light years behind the guy he replaces...
3.) It's nice to compare this situation to when Ray Lewis was out for half the season - but who was it that admitted that without Ray the D sometimes looked like a ship that lost direction? Yep, Suggs. Now, how's the D gonna look like without "today's Ray"? That said, the D was the usual quality for most of the game, and we can only hope that Suggs' absence won't change that too much. I trust Pees is good enough to account for that and change the strategies accordingly.
I have the foreboding that it's not the D that's gonna make it hard for us this season...
I'm having a hard time following this post. Do you like the D or not?
I know it's always good when the Steelers lose but it sure was tough hoping the patsies would win last night. Got to admit it was funy when the crowd were chanting "Where's Roger?"
Photoshop game is on point.......
Garrett, you need to correct last sentence...it says 'sucks' where I'm sure you meant 'socks'. I'm sure the Mom Gene will catch it and fix it for you and maybe even give you some warning points.......
Don't forget they 'borrowed' Ed Reed for half a season
Ok, so what's up with Charles James II? It appears there's no room for him on either roster?
If Jah Reid or Ryan Jensen are cut I don't see either of them clearing waivers. I bet they are working on a trade involving one of them (hopefully Reid).
I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens put Perriman on the PUP list for return after game six. I don't see how he could be much more than an over the top decoy for the first few games anyway.
Here are the spots where I think people are really fighting for the last spots:
(who I believe they'll keep are in bold)
RB Magee v Toussaint
S Trawick v Levine (they might just keep 4 in which case both are gone)
DB Perry v Pointer v Walker
DE Bilkudi v Kapron v Tyson
Jah Reid is probably the odd man out on the O-line so I bet they're desperately trying to trade him. Unfortunately we've got 9 quality offensive linemen counting Jah.
We are going to have a pretty strong practice squad it looks like
Taliaferro had knee surgery? I thought it was just an MCL sprain. When was this confirmed?
Steve Smith doesn't need the likes of Jamieson Hensley telling him he needs to keep his cool. His 'fight' Saturday was to make sure Washington knew the Ravens were tired of all the cheap shots. he surely wouldn't get thrown of a game in the regular season when the game was on the line. Hensley should just stick to sending out his begging tweets that attempt to get people to click thru to the Joe Flacco commercial link so he can earn his keep at ESPN.
Notice how much of a deterrent Suggs's hit was? They didn't run the read option again with Bradford. We should be talking about the great hit Brandon Williams dropped on Bradford.
There is really no reason to point out who may be cut once you've already named the locks and bubble players. Especially when you consider that several of those on the cut list will make the practice squad and could feature in the 53 at some point. Remember these guys are fighting for their futures and it's probably crushing to go on the team website and see your name next to 'projected cut'. A little compassion please.
Are we sure that Jason Cole isn't just 'speculating' about the pending MRI. Surely he's already had one.
I've got a good feeling about Kendrick Lewis. He'll be the next great safety the Ravens have from New Orleans.
Unfortunately, Pollard burned that bridge when he said the things he said when he was let go. He should've already had that call with Ozzie and John long ago. next story please
If you're unsure how good Upshaw is just ask Big Ben, he's rocked him at least twice!!
It would be great if the Patriots and Stoolers could both be given losses for that first game against each other. As a Ravens fan I hope Brady can play in that game to give them a better chance to beat Pitt. Move his suspension (through injunction) to later in the season so that it disrupts their season even more

We all know what the Pats are. There's a reason we have a first round pick next year and they don't. Nice to know we're in his head enough that he gets pleasure from our rough start. Go Ravens!!!
