  1. What I meant to say was those who think he's a washed up old man have never watched him play. If you're concerned about going younger we still would regardless of if we sign him or not, the WR position will be addressed in the draft and we already have talented starters.

But I fear we won't draft one in the early rounds. I can see so many of these players come in and make an impact from day 1. If we get Steve Smith he'll only be in the way.

If we do end up getting him, I at least hope we get him for cheap.

  2. Those who don't want Smith obviously have never seen him play, nobody plays bigger than their size than Smith. He's the biggest man on the field any day of the week 35 years old or not. Whoever gets him is going to improve their offense for the next few years.

That's not really true. At least not in my case. Steve Smith has always been one of my favorite players in the NFL period. With his smash mouth attitude he'd fit right in with us, and although he's clearly lost a step, he's still a pretty good WR.

With that being said though, I'd prefer we go younger and just get a WR in the draft, especially considering this class is stacked. I love Smith, but I really don't want another stop gap at WR. And for those saying he could be a mentor to Torrey Smith, I don't really get it. Torrey is a vet himself and he's the one who should be mentoring our younger guys which will hopefully include some WR's from this years draft.

  3. I believe that they're running with an idea similar to what Arda Ocal thinks they're doing: starting a losing streak for Cena, similar to how franchise players like Alex Ovechkin, Peyton Manning, Sidney Crosby, etc. have slumps where fans question whether they can still hang. Then, the losing streak gets snapped unexpectedly in a big-time match and Cena gets back on a small winning streak, setting up a match with The Undertaker or a title match with The Rock at WrestleMania.

It's a risky proposition but it's a good way to get fans back in Cena's corner if he suddenly looks vulnerable and isn't Super Cena anymore -- the flip side is, WWE has to be careful with how they handle his eventual winning streak or else those same fans will reject it.

I could see that, but its not like him winning every match is the only reason hes so hated. (by the older fans at least)

The guy is just extremely stale as a face. While putting him in a slump is interesting, it doesn't really change that fact, unless he gets more edgy.

  4. Can't believe they actually had Tensai pin Cena. Not a fan of Tensai, but I like how they're making Cena look more vulnerable than ever. I don't know if that was the objective, but Cena came out incredibly lame and pathetic in his promo addressing Lesnar. He sounded like he expected to lose.

I thought Cena might never turn heel, but with the way they've portrayed him the last 3 weeks, they might have no other choice.

  5. Agreed. Now I'm not sure about overrated but certainly give me HBK/Undertaker from WM 25 or 26 over HHH/Taker at WM 28. Quite honestly we seen Taker/HHH battle so many times, it was like what's left. Then you go and add Hell In A Cell, and you go ok, makes it interesting but who cares, we have a HIAC PPV so we had just seen a Hell In a Cell Match back in October. Then how do you make this match worth watching, throw in Shawn Michaels. I think Shawn stole the show and the match period than the match itself. Shawn's reactions and his facial expressions and HHH telling Shawn to end it and call for the bell, Taker taking out Shawn so he wouldn't ring the bell, the Sweet Chin Music to Taker, Shawn made the match worth watching, not Taker or HHH.

I wouldn't go that far. Taker stole the entire night imo. For a guy who hadn't been in the ring for an entire year, he was excellent.

  6. Well obviously Triple H would be preferable, but he's not on the table. He's apparently only interested in being on TV if it means going over CM Punk, working a feud with his buddies (Kevin Nash) in which he of course goes over, and being a part of the ever-so-overhyped Streak storyline with Undertaker for Wrestlemania for an incredibly unnecessary third time, two years in a row. Now they're calling THAT match the single best match of all time. It's very laughable.

I thought I was the only one who thought the match was overrated.

Very good match, but I don't get all the "best match ever" talk.

HBK/Taker from 25 was far better.

  7. Wow, I'm surprised some of you guys like Johnny Ace, I'd prefer they bring back HHH as the COO and turn him heel and make him the authority figure.

I wouldn't mind seeing that, but it will be hard for Triple H to consistently get heat as the guy has turned into a huge fan favorite.

Thats one of the main reasons I like Ace so much. The guy is just so hateable.

  8. While I agree that heel authority figures are always interesting, Johnny Ace attracts more go-away heat than good heat. He's done some decent things as the heel GM, but he often makes me not care to see him on my TV set.

Dolph Ziggler = good heel heat. Johnny Ace = bad heel heat. A good heel is one that garners respect from the audience for what they do but also elicits the appropriate crowd response for their actions, sometimes resulting in cheers. A bad heel is one that gets ZERO reaction from the audience while also getting booed for the wrong reasons.

Well, I don't really view him that way, and actually enjoy him.

  9. I hate Johnny Ace even more.. Sheamus apologized and it was like he was death and didn't hear him the first time or he didn't bother watching the segment before he came out. I wish HHH would come back as COO and use his Power as COO and fire him.

Why would you want him gone? Heel GM's are always very interesting.

  10. I don't see Lesnar wrestling at Extreme Rules, or at least I hope not. He was clearly out of shape Monday.

Give him until the PPV in May, and he should be in wrestling shape by that time.

I know its tempting, but the last thing the WWE should do is rush an out of shape Lesnar to the ring. It would kill the unbelievable momentum him and the WWE are riding.

  11. Apparently they wanted to beat the record of Kane beating Chavo for the quickest title change in WM History but didn't beat it as Bryan-Sheamus lasted 18 seconds. There were some that were against the short match and wanted to change it but it seemed to be the plan all along.

I don't believe that for 1 second. lol

If they really wanted to beat the record, they would have rung the bell after the kiss.
