VH3 will probably go before him with how much teams tend to value lockdown CBs over safeties, and you've got Bosa, Floyd, Nkemdiche, two potential franchise LTs and three potential franchise QBs depending on who other teams like - teams always seem to devalue safeties in the draft and Ramsey's having somewhat of a down year since he's out of position. I agree with Grim that the 8-15 range sounds about right, as much as we love him in this part of the forum.
That might be true if they were both the same level of prospects (which there not), but Ramsey is a unique case because safety's of his caliber just don't come around very often.
Mega pipe dream would be an understatement.Mega Pipe Dream:Nothing would make me happier than us somehow getting Ramsey, Nassib, Boyd AND Doctson.
A WR who can't catch the ball....Yeah we need more of those guys.
Wouldn't surprise me if Doctson ends up being the first WR taken when it's all said and done.Boyd is the only player on offense worth a damn on Pitt. Lol, he's really their only weapon. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but I came away impressed.
I know this thread is about Treadwell and Boyd, but I also caught some of Doctson and that guy is good! He just keeps impressing me every time I watch him. I like this guy a lot!
Will he be willing to learn the ropes for 5-6 years? If we sign Flacco to an ext... any thoughts of drafting Prescott in the later rounds bring in a qb coach and teach him the ropes until we can turn it over to him... with the right coaching he could be a steve mcnair type guy. If we do get the first pick or a top 3 pick... we can add weapons via trading out and getting someone like Shaq Thompson or fuller and/or maybe a ball hogging wr.
The only way I'd ever spend a top 10 pick on a WR would be for a Julio Jones or AJ Green type prospect. Nobody in this draft comes close to those guys.
I'm not as impressed by Tunsil as I am Stanley, although I'll say that I think Tunsil also has a chance to be a very good player in the league. I like Stanley a bit better as a run blocker and I think Stanley's technique is a little more consistent. Both of them are in the upper echelon in pass blocking as far as I'm concerned.
But he has only played 1 game so far, and looked amazing in that game.
Why is everyone only talking about Stanley? Laremy Tunsil is supposed to be the better prospect from what I hear.
Which CB will be Reek?If he tells the CBs to get somewhere, you know they'd do well to listen.
Though more injured DBs isn't exactly what we need either.
When we play during the winter we can say we have Ramsey Snow in the secondary.
Not sure if thats a good thing?...
He seems like the best safety prospect in years. Definitely worthy of a top 5-10 pick.
He might be the best player in the draft. I'd love this pick. I know we have a bunch of good to very good players at DT, but this guy has the potential to be the best at his position.
If he is available at that point, it would be ideal, but in a weak class in terms of pass rushers, I can see him going round 1.if he rises that much i would pass. i like nassib as a early 2nd. if we dont land bosa in the first then i like him very much for the 2nd round, assuming we are picking top 5. i love the thought of nkemdiche in the first and nassib in the 2nd, that is a scary tandem, but i hate the thought of picking very early and abandoning the secondary and wr corps 2 picks straight.
I can't see the Ravens going anywhere near Aldon Smith, after the Rice fiasco. JPP might be a more realistic option.?
I love the idea!! But how old will Dumervil be next year?? Going on 34?? Ravens need to find a replacement for Dumervil as well. They could sign Aldon Smith maybe?? A harbaugh had him the playing as one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Bosa and Smith could make the ravens dominant again.
My guess is he ends up a mid to late 1st rounder, assuming he has a good offseason. He'd be a good trade back target.
Most of the QB's paid as much as Joe are consistently good. Joe's not consistent.
Unless you're expecting him to be as good as Rodgers and Brady, I think he falls in line with guys like Eli, and Matt Ryan. Lets look at the highest paid QB's. (According to NFL.com)
1. Aaron Rodgers: Might be the greatest QB of all time. Really no comparison between him and Flacco.
2. Russell Wilson: Doesn't get asked to do much, until this year and has been on and off. Can't really come to a fair conclusion yet because his o-line has been terrible.
3. Big Ben: No argument from me. Hes better than Flacco, but I'll take the guy I can rely on to be healthy.
4. Eli Manning: Almost a mirror reflection of Flacco. At times looks like a HOFer, but also has games where he looks like a complete scrub. Has gotten a little more consistent with ODB. Call me a homer, but give Flacco the same weopons and I'll take him over Eli.
5. Cam Newton: Better than Flacco.
6. Matt Ryan: I've always found him overrated. Even with a plethora of weapons, hes been very average this year.
7. Joe Flacco
8. Drew Brees : At this point of his career, Flacco is simply a better option at QB.
9. Phillip Rivers: Better than Flacco
From all those guys, the only QB's I would take over Flacco are Rodgers, Newton, Rivers, and maybe Wilson.
You could have all the talent in the world, but without a QB, what's the point?Houston, Norleans, Cleveland, Chicago, NYJ, St Louis or even KC would love to have him too, and a lot of them could make the cap hits work. And he's better and more proven than the options at a lot of other teams, who might also be interested.
I'd still prefer we kept him, but I can guarantee we'd get more than a day two pick for him if we put him on the block.
I don't get the contract complaints. The salary is the norm for franchise QB's today. If you have one, you have to pony up.His contract and inconsistent play wouldn't be appealing to most teams, We're stuck with Flacco, there's no Great QB coming out this year and we probably won't be in the position to draft one in the next couple years.
I'm perfectly fine with being "stuck" with Flacco. You can certainly do a lot worse.
I doubt a QB needy team wouldn't give us a 1st Rounder or 2.Sad thing is we probably wouldn't get more than a 2nd-3rd round pick for our "Ellie" QB.
If I were Flacco I'd immediately demand a trade if we drafted a QB, and rightfully so. The guy already has minimal talent around him and then you draft a QB with a top 5 pick?
Sorry but it makes zero sense to me.
Flacco is still in the prime of his career. The only way I'd even entertain the idea of drafting a QB in the top 5 is if the prospect is on the level of an Andrew Luck or Cam Newton. Nobody in this class is on that level. On a team loaded with needs, I would have a huge problem with drafting a QB in the top 5 when your SB winning QB is only 30.
I agree, I think hes a great prospect but I don't see him as a Watt type player in the future. This is a weak edge rusher class so that will shoot up his value a ton.
Well to be fair, nobody thought Watt would end up being this good in the 2011 draft. Bosa is defintley a more highly regarded prospect than Watt. Doesn't really mean he'll be anywhere near as good, but who really knows tbh?
Speaking of the 2011 draft, looking back, that class was loaded with defensive talent. Watt, Miller, Dareus, Quinn, Kerrigan, Wilkerson, Peterson....Maybe Watt would have climbed into the top 3 of it weren't for the stacked class.
I don't see him as the once in a generation type talent some do, but in a weak class in terms of pass-rushers, he is by far the best one, and at this point is definitely worthy of a top 5 pick.
if were talking 3rd overall im sure we have our eyes on prospects other than ramsey and hargreaves, as much as i like hargreaves and ramsey being probably my top prospect for this team, i think ozzie would be hoping for the top OT at that point, and if were picking as high as 3rd than bosa is a real possibility, i wouldnt rule out nkemdiche for a second either, we know how ozzie likes to shock us with pure BPA and nkemdiche very well could be that.
I just used those guys as a general idea of players who could be availible. Theres no doubt this team could use help on many different positions.
But, if the package presneted resembles anything like what St. Louis got, You'd have to take it. Especially if you really do beleive Ozzie is one of the best in the business. This team has a lot of holes, and all those draft picks can lead to another championship contender.
If you get a package anything like the Rams got, you almost have to take it. Even if Ramsey and Hargreaves are still availible that is an offer that can't be refused.

Have you watched much of Tyler Matakevich yet? I've been paying attention to him specifically the last couple of weeks and came away hugely impressed. Not exactly a thumper but the guy is just all over the field and always seems to be around the ball. The commentators were also talking about him being a film rat.
Seems like the perfect complement to Moseley.
