  1. I think it turns more into a rotation between Suggs, Doom, and Bosa where Bosa stays on the field the majority of the time. Possibly making Dumerville tradable if the offer is sweet enough

I wouldn't trade him. You can never have too many pass-rushers and he's an excellent one. Not to mention he's great insurance for Suggs.

  2. No doubt there's been a lot of bad football this year, mainly because there's a lot of bad football teams. Way more than usual. Even the best teams this year are nowhere as good as previous great teams.

With that being said though, I'm still glued to the television on Sunday. The Redzone channel has become an addiction.

  3. The fact that Donald was picked at 13 and Decosta said Mosley was our guy since the 10th pick may say we didn't see him as a fit.

If that's the reason they didn't take him, I find it idiotic. For a player like Donald, you build your defense around him and not the other way around.

And if we take Bosa, and 4-3 is a better fit, you have to adapt. Especially with a pick that high.

  4. He won't be the next JJ Watt though, he's a DT, same spot that the young and high potential Davis, Jernigan and Williams. That's like having a top pick but deciding to draft a QB instead of a high need just because the QB is slightly better, despite you ALREADY having a good franchise QB like Flacco...

People would have said the same about Aaron Donald, and he's just as good as Watt if not better if I dare say so.

  5. It can definitely be an infuriating aspect of his game. There was a play against Rice where he literally stood backwards facing the sideline from pre-snap until the whistle. That won't fly with the coaches in the pros. That being said, the others wideouts also displayed the same tendency when the play went away from their side, so I assume that it was a permitted practice, perhaps to conserve their energy. The fact that Coleman has a mean streak helps to quell the concerns and he's shown that he can be effective when putting in the effort, i.e. his block against West Virginia last season. While I'm on the subject, I also see his edgy demeanor as a plus, especially considering his size. The route running could use some polish, but that's the case for most college WRs. Agreed on the latter for sure.

Well our luck hasn't worked out with model citizens at WR. Maybe a WR with some baggage might be the draft pick we need.

  6. Here to give where credit is due in putting me on Coleman. I'm not entirely caught up on his 2015 contests, but he's impressed in the ones I've observed. In the Texas Tech game alone, he beat the press against the Nickel off the snap before accelerating down the field and hauling in the long throw, and then he split the Tampa 2 perfectly for the score all in the first quarter. Steve Smith Sr. like in his shiftiness in the open field. There is so much to like about him. There were several games wherein he put forth a porous amount of an effort into blocking in the running game or selling out on when he wasn't the intended target. But I was blown away by his tape against Rice. The talent level is difficult to deny.

There are definitely parts of his game that need to be polished, like you said blocking - not exactly a strength of his. I've also heard some criticize his route running, but I'm not sure if that's him or the system to be fair.

I've also heard some players say he's "mean", which is good. Shorter WR with attitude, now who does that remind me of?.... The talent is undeniable. He can instantly contribute in the NFL as a lethal deep threat, and develop into something bigger, assuming he puts the work in.

  7. Took me til November to get into the draft forum, and the WR thread is as a good place to start as any other.

I'm projecting the Ravens to finish around 7-9. Likely landing outside of the top 10 so dreams of Bosa, Ramsey, or Hargreaves seem unlikely at this point. Maybe one of the CB slips to us but I doubt it.

I think it is possible the Ravens take a WR in the first round again.

So who to pick? RIght now I have Corey Coleman as WR1, slightly ahead of Treadwell. This could certainly change, but Coleman is the type of player in the Odell Beckham/Antonio Brown mold that I love.

1A) Coleman - all around WR. Incredibly sudden and explosive. Great YAC ability and has the deep speed to stretch the field. My only knock on him is size and occasional concentration drops.

1B) Treadwell - great size/speed combo. Smooth accelerator with great body control and very good hands. Can make circus/contested catches look easy. Willing blocker.

    3) Doctson - Similar size as Treadwell but has a lankier build. Top end speed good not elite. Great body control and hands. Has positional savvy and tracks the ball extremely well.

    4) Boyd - Another big WR. Boyd has great hands and short area quickness. I see him more as a possession receiver in the NFL. Lacks elite speed and not a deep threat imo.

    5) Thomas - Great size and good enough speed to be a deep threat. Strong route runner, good hands. Very good all around WR.

Coleman or Treadwell will be the players in round 1 conversation where the Ravens are picking. One of these other guys might be there in 2nd round if we go CB/EDGE in the first. I'd be happy with any of them.

Love Coleman. Don't know if he's the best, but he's been my favorite WR to watch this year.

  8. he is an amazing rusher, hes just not an "edge" rusher.

nkemdiche is the most dominant DL in recent memory, he is the embodiment of jevon kearse meets ndamakong suh. he is as close to "unstoppable" as it gets. he will set the bar for whatever position he is drafted to play at, if the ravens take him and put him at 3-4DE, then he is absolutely good enough to possibly bypass watt for best at that position and all 3-4 defenses will be looking for the next nkemdiche as the cornerstone.

he is the best talent of this draft, unfortunately he plays at our most stacked position. i think its hard to pass him up though, he could honestly clear the way for a guy like upshaw to have a 8 sack season, hes that dominant up front.

If he's anywhere near that good, it would be hard to pass up. We have a solid d-line, but nothing too amazing.

  9. I haven't really watched much of Robert but I've heard some say he isn't a great pass-rusher. That kind of worries me if true. If we're drafting a DT with a top 10 pick, he better be an amazing pass-rusher.

But again, i personally haven't watched much of him, but plan on checking him out.

  10. I don't think Boyd falling to the 2nd is really that crazy.

As for the 1st pick, I would have zero problem with this pick. If Bosa, Ramsey, and either of LT's were on the board you honestly can't go wrong. Just remember Dallas passed up Watt for Smith and I'm sure they don't regret it.

  11. I think we stick in the top 10. I really hope it's closer to the 5 mark (not hoping we lose or anything) since I have 6 guys that I have as top notch talents… Bosa, Nkemdiche, Hargreaves, Ramsey, Stanley, Tunsil. I like Jaylon Smith a ton as well but not as a fit for us. I'd be ecstatic with any of those 6 at this point.

I think in today's pass happy NFL, Smith would be a good fit in any defense.
