  1. stud 4-3 OLBs who are lightning fast but very undersized, converting to play 3-4 ILB in a system that is not friendly to undersized linebackers.. Arthur Brown wasn't the same caliber of player but he was viewed in the same light and was supposed too be a total stud

Brown was a great college player but he was nowhere near the pro prospect

  2. just watched Ohio st play yesterday,I didn't know he played the against the offensive rt tackle , what I saw was a good player a sound player, so what is all the hype about, because he is the best in this draft class, that is not a good enough reason to spend a top 5 pick on ,,, imho if we do not go after a LT then I hope we trade back and accumulate picks for next year

So you're evaluating him on one game if I understand you correctly?

  3. Uhhh bosa is not a "generational" talent, he is the top pass rusher in an average pass rushing class imo

Even if you don't see him as that level of a talent, he's still the best pass-rusher in the draft. After QB, those guys are just as important as LTs. You wouldn't draft him just cause you have some commitment to running a 3-4?

  4. If we ended up at #1 id only trade back for Hargreaves, I'm talking around #5-7 we take him. If we could trade back get an extra 1st and VH3 I'd be jumping out of my seat.

But it's never that easy. Let's go with the hypothetical we end up moving back to 7. Whose to say we lose out on all the elite talent at that point. This draft is very top heavy. After Bosa, Tunsil, VH3, Ramsey, Stanley, and Smith there is a considerable drop off.

  5. I don't see how he fits? My opinion is you don't spend a top 5 pick on trying to turn a 4-3 de into a standup OlB. I know it's been done before but it's never a sure thing and the Ravens need to knock this draft out of the park.

Plus I haven't watched a ton of bosa but does he ever rush against the LT? Him dominating the RT doesn't impress me as much

I never understand the fit argument. If you have a shot at a generational talent, why wouldn't you build your defense around him? Especially with it looking likely we'll be getting a new DC. Not to mention I think Bosa is a good enough athlete to be fine in a 3-4.

  6. im still not sure how corner isn't considered as much a need as pass rusher, we had Suggs Doom and McPhee playing great last year and we still got decimated through the air especially when Jimmy went down. If Hargreaves turns out to be the revis type shutdown corner he looks like in college that would open things up to blitz more, get a little more creative on defense. I'm not saying VH3 will be a better player than Bosa or vice versa, but both need to be considered because they both play a position of need.

Yeah but I can't see us drafting a CB if we ended up with the #1 pick. It's either Bosa or Tunsil if that's the case.

  7. It's not even really the attitude that has me concerned. I imagine he'll have some penalties of course, but I also like the fire and passion that comes from him.

My bigger concern is him being a little overaggressive in trying to make a play and getting beat at a higher level. I think he's going to be a tremendous playmaker on the defensive side of the ball, but I can also see some inconsistencies creeping in as well.

Hey we know all too well about a safety who got burnt occasionally for being overaggressive.

  8. The Ravens are on the fast track to pick inside the top 5, as long as they lose out, so would they actually pick an ILB in the top 5 over the possible players like Hargreaves, Bosa, Tunsil, Nkemdiche, Stanley, or Ramsey? I'd highly doubt it, honestly, especially given the Ravens seem to just pump out inside linebackers.

Besides, I think he'll have a much larger impact in the 4-3 over the 3-4

We probably won't pick him unless we move down. But if we did, I'd have no problem with it cause he has best in the league potential.

  9. It'd be too high if someone like Tunsil, Hargreaves, Bosa, etc are there, and even if they trade back and he's still there, if Ogbah is there, I see Ogbah going over him. Basically, I think he's going to be a 4-3 linebacker. I don't see many 3-4 teams wanting to take him over some of the players that are available

I think in today's NFL, Smith would be a fine fit for a 3-4. Especially for our D which had a good d-line and a perfect compliment in CJ.

  10. We currently only have two good cornerbacks, both are injury prone and Webb doesn't have much time left. We were in cornerback hell last year and we're about to be this year. I want a CB in the first round. No more Wright, Cason and all the other waiverbacks.

I could make the same argument for OLB.
