  1. That picture of the coverage on Niko's sack is absolutely embarrassing!!! All 4 receivers run straight to their defender and doesn't even appear they were trying to get open (can tell by the result of the play). Then you have 3 guys against 1 defender; 1 OLmen against 3 defenders and 2 OLmen taking 1 guy to the ground - NO WONDER JOE GOT SACKED!!! But i guess people will only blame Joe for the sack and not even blink an eye at crappy play by the receivers and the OL... This picture is the epitome of what the receivers and OL have been doing all season!!!
  2. When he entire NFL knows your QB can flick the ball 70 yards and you have 2 deep threats defenses are going to play a deep cover 2 with zone underneath which is exactly what NE did. They know our tendancies and were more than happy to give Joe the check down. People act like Joe just decides to check it down, he's got to take what the defense gives him. THEN, the flip side to that is when Joe did decide to drop it deep to Wallace he gets hammered because it was double coverage, which is really wasn't because the safety was late - Wallace just opened his arms like he was trying to catch a watermelon instead of a football. Receivers share a lot of blame on this one!!
  3. Flacco said the Ravens were expecting to get more man-to-man coverage, but the Patriots used more zone and dropped linebackers into coverage to clog up the middle of the field. Game plan was for man-to-man coverage and when they realized they were playing zone heavy they didn't have any game plan to combat that. AND to top it off our crappy receivers (other than SSS) couldn't find the soft spot in the zone and get open. Piss poor coaching and piss poor on field adjustment by our receivers!!!
  4. and he's got like 5000 posts - Crusader is a HUGE TROLL!!!
  5. Plus with zone you can hang in the pocket - WHAT POCKET?!?!?!?!? When he did hang in the pocket he got sacked. The OL played like ish again and it showed on the entire offense!! Maybe, they aren't less skilled players - maybe we have the less skilled players and obviously also lack the exceptional coaching. It is apparent that they were ready to play against us and we thought we were playing the Browns again....
  6. “The reality is that until late in the game, the Ravens offense reverted to the erratic, mistake-prone attack we saw over the first 11 weeks of the season. And Tom Brady pretty well carved up a secondary that again had to play without an injured Jimmy Smith.” ^^^ YELP that's the REALITY of it all folks!!! Marty had a good plan against Miami and the players executed it perfectly. Appears Marty had a crappy plan against NE and the players executed it crappy!!! NE knew exactly what and where Flacco was going damn near every time he dropped back to pass. One pass he was going across the middle to Pitta and there were 5 defenders in the area, one dropped back and almost had an INT. Not impressed with Marty at all!!!
  7. Ravens came out flat, OL got pushed around early, Flacco was off because of this and receivers were dropping catchable balls. Receivers failing to get separation and get open. Powers and Wright are bums
  8. How will you say joe is just average.. did he miss some passes yes but on the int Wallace looked like he was trying to catch a chair I mean it looked like joe shot 3 pointer how wide Wallace arms were.. breshad perriman had some nice catches but also missed a pass which was drive killer because he was being lazy wasn't ready for the ball. He's a first round pick he should always expect to get the ball and never look surprised when it's passed to him Receiver's aren't being lazy - it's a product of the play calling - the play was called to go to a specific receiver, which is what happened and 9/10 when they come out of the huddle Joe is locked on 1 receiver. The only time he's not truly looking for 1 receiver is when they run the hurry up.
  9. So Weddle warns everybody on the play action fake, Elam bites on it, let's his receiver run free and it's Weddle's fault (which I know it's the safety who is responsible for deep coverage) but Elam didn't even lay a finger on his guy, just let him run right by him. I'm sorry, you can say what you want but Elam is not a very solid player and has done nothing to warrant a roster spot.
  10. It was Tavon's & Weddle's fault. Tavon handed off Mitchell (or got beat badly) who came across the field as the underneath WR. Typically the slot corner takes the underneath WR and the outside corner and safety take the deep middle WR. If you watch the play, Elam breaks toward Mitchell (Tavon doesn't) but then realizes that Brady is throwing to Hogan so he stumbles trying to recover. Look at the play and watch Tavon - who is he covering? They were playing man coverage at the line. You're speaking of zone coverage and they only switch depending on what route the receiver runs - if the inside receiver goes out and the outside receiver comes in then they switch but if the inside receiver breaks deep the inside corner stays with him, makes absolutely no sense for corners who are 7 yards apart to just switch receivers from who they are lined up in front of.
  11. do you even understand what you are saying? how can 1 blow a coverage he is not responsible for? weddle was responsible for the deep coverage not elam. as a defender you are supposed to stick to what your assignment is and not freelance. elam did what he was told and weddle did not. You say Weddle was responsible for the deep coverage; what was Elam responsible for - to just stand there and let the receiver run right by him untouched? Nobody has a problem with what Weddle had done all season long which was move around and disguise coverages, this time it back fired but that's what happens when you gamble - win some, lose some
  12. My 5 things to watch... 1. NE ball boy 2. NE ball boy 3. Blount 4. Trick plays if Edelman is behind the LOS and the ball in his hand 5. For players talking to ref about eligibility
  13. I'd look for a lot of hard counts to try and draw our guys off sides, mainly Suggs bc (who will no doubt get at least one called on him). Defense has to play disciplined because they will also be looking to get other penalties called too (cough cough Smith Sr don't let them get in your head!!!!) Will need to score quick and then establish the run and keep Brady off the field as much as possible, time of possession is going to be key in this game...
  14. I honestly do not know why they didn't adjust; I'm sure Fin fans are asking the same question, much like Ravens fans have asked this very question...
  15. Castillo didn't implement his own system and it's the same guys we've had all season. This is the 2nd or 3rd week behind this particular group at offensive line which gives it a little bit more continuity which should only get better with more time. It's called EXECUTION - the Offensive Line blocked, which allowed Flacco time in the pocket to find the open receiver, the open receiver caught the ball and made a gain. Like I said before, defenses know our tendencies and that's why Miami left the middle of the field open - Since day one Flacco has ALWAYS thrown the out route at the 10-15-20 yard marks and Miami was playing outside-in coverage, meaning they were not going to let Joe throw that pass. Defenses also know that with Wallace and Perriman that we just throw it deep and hope they come down with it. Instead, like I've been saying, we needed to use more of our receivers on the intermediate routes and let them make a play - which is exactly what they did against Miami. This game has and will give opposing defenses problems in the future because now they know Flacco can and will attack all areas of the field - IF GIVEN THE TIME BY THE OFFENSIVE LINE
  16. Stop with the what Flacco will show - the entire offense starting with the damn offensive line needs to show up!!! It's not just the damn QB!!!!
  17. No, that's not what I am implying. What I am saying is that when the offense plays like crap everyone wants to scream and shout how much Joe sucks and NOBODY wants to account for the 9 different offensive line changes he's played, Steve Smith Sr being out for several weeks and piss poor play by the OL and receivers. When the OL plays as well as it did, then that allows Joe to what he does and that allows the receivers to do what they do. Almost every struggling team has a weak OL, without a strong OL your offense will go nowhere!! Look at Oakland, you honestly believe Carr is as good as he is, he and Dak have the two best OL in the league right now. You parroted all the points they brought up on the radio but nice try. Flacco getting healthier, healthier since the week before, really?? Getting in Wallace's face and Marty calling a better game - guess what take all of those ball them up and if the OL plays like crap then none of that even matters!!! Flacco was able to sit in the pocket and get comfortable because the OL played as well as they did. It all starts with the offensive and defensive lines.
  18. I've been saying it all season; give Joe protection and time and he will do what he's capable of doing and this game proved it. The OL gave up no sacks and numerous times I saw Joe stand up and step up in the pocket and throw darts to his receivers. One of the biggest things was the receivers were actually getting open and catching the ball. Everyone wants to blame Joe when the offense sputters but doesn't want to account for the things out of his control. The big question is can the OL continue to play this good???
  19. I feel confident with more experience these young guys will become even better WHICH means we can competitive for the next several years!! There are two guys who I think need mentioning as well - Brent Urban and Matthew Judon. There is also obviously something the team sees which is why Judon is not suited up every week but when he's in it seems he's always making plays and around the ball. Just wish more of our young receivers and tight ends would step up!!!
  20. I agree, the ball should have been dropped in over the DB and not further out, Perriman had open field to the pylon...
  21. I got an even better idea Harbs - how about we get our offense to score more then we won't have to worry about Tucker having to score more points
  22. Should have two more wins in Foxboro but Evans dropped a perfectly thrown ball and the defense gave up two 14 point leads!
  23. I would hazard a guess that they are trying to see what they have in Elam before the end of the year. But yeah, Elam does not look good. Elam hasn't looked good in a while. Never clearly made the transition to the NFL. Another wasted first round pick...
  24. I'd like to see you hit the broad side of a barn with 4 people 6 foot 4 and 275 to 330 running at you. see, Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, David Carr, Drew Brees....they can show you how to step up in the picket, rool out, change protection, throw the ball away, or any of the other good decisions a QB should make in those situations. With the exception of Seattle those other teams all have top 8 offensive lines. You make it seem as if the QB does it all by himself.
  25. Because these are obvious non issues to majority of NFL fans, coaches, players and commissioner
