Well Mel Kiper has us taking Zeke in his latest mock, I'll be honest I would be bummed, sorry but we need defense and several of them maybe all of our first three picks. Defense wins champions, offense wins games.

His mock went Tunsil Wentz Ramsey Bosa Jack.

In this case I wouldn't mind take Zeke. The only other player left for me in this scenario would be VH3, so if that's how the first 5 picks play out it would come down to those two IMO.

He looked good in his rookie year and the times he was allowed to play his natural position so i'm optimistic

Yea that's exactly what I'm saying. If he can play in the box and roam the middle and just hit TE's and slot receivers and Weddle can play deep, that would be ideal

  3. For me when I watched Stanley's games I felt like he had really good pass pro but he didn't finish blocks like he should in the run game. Also you're assuming that he would focus on the weight room now that he's out of school because there are a lot of players that never focus. I'm not saying that he wouldn't focus but right now that's just an assumption. For me the main reason I don't want to pick him is not so much because I don't belive he could be a good left tackle, but because I feel like if we pick him we would be leaving much better players on the board.

He was not bad his first year here. Don't know what happened to him, wasn't too long ago he and Terrance Brooks were suppose to man the fort back there. With Weddle in the back they have a true safety they can be molded by in a perfect world. Will Hill failed my expectations (I felt he was top 5 safety in the league and after a year out of the game his first year with us proved it to me) but of course Hill could not keep his head on straight.

With Webb back there now it's going to have to be wait and see, he's going to have go out there and play very well for extra snaps...

If he were to fix the mental mistakes though wouldn't you agree he would be our hardest hitting safety?

What makes Ramsey the best player though? He is the least proven of all top 5 prospects.

I think he is definitely the most athletic of the top 5 with Myles Jack coming in at a very close #2. His tape is also very good, has good coverage skills, loose hips, can jam receivers at the line, and can play the run. My only knock on Ramsey is that I saw him struggle to find the ball in time to make a play on it. There were a handful of plays that he dropped interceptions that were right in his chest, of course those plays came after he baited the QB beautifully. I kind of get what you're saying but I think the position that he's at, plus him being very good at so many aspects of his game, plus his athleticism pushes him above the other defensive players.

  6. All of last offseason all the coaches were going out of their way to complement Matt Elam saying that he was working harder than ever, and praising how well his offseason was going. I know we kind of have a log-jam at safety with more quantity than quality, with the exception of Eric Weddle, but if Elam was actually making progress like the coaches said and he comes back healthy do you think there's any chance for him to play strong safety with Weddle playing free safety? It's just a thought I had yesterday what do you guys think?

Agreed to an extent.  Buckner is good, but I don't want to use the 6th pick on him.  If they're able to trade back, get extra picks and still take him then that would be ok.

Yea I guess that wouldn't be too bad if we can get some extra picks and still get him. I just think he's more of a project than the media wants us to believe, and if VH3, Bosa, or Jack are on the board I'd rather take any of them. I know most of you probably won't agree but I would probably even take Ezekiel Elliot over him.

Seems like people are overthinking as the draft gets closer. Show me 1 play of Buckner getting pushed around and I'll give you a dozen plays where he completely dominated the offensive lineman. I see JJ Watt get pushed around on plays but that doesn't mean he's not the best defensive player in the NFL. Buckner has some very violent hands by no means is he perfect, but he's the best option for us at 6 if he falls.

The thing is there were more plays were he was pushed around than where he dominates. It would be almost impossible for any player to dominate on every play, but with JJ Watt he makes an impact more often than not and I just didn't feel the same way when watching Buckner play. That's just my opinion.

I get the hate for Stanley, but why Buckner. He's really, really good

I've watched his tape, and he gets pushed out of plays constantly. He is very strong and athletic but lacks technique and I just feel like he won't be able to make in impact on the professional level, at least not right away. You've heard the FO talk about wanting an instant coffee pick o plug and play and I don't believe he's it. A few years down the road could he be a great player, I don't know, but we need someone who's ready now. I actually did a draft video on Buckner check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svHMLbvAg6Q

  10. As of right now two players I would hate to see the Ravens draft with the 6th pick are Deforest Buckner and Ronnie Stanley. Unfortunately I see them going to the Ravens in various Mock Drafts!! What would be your least favorite pick the Ravens could realistically make in the first round?

  11. I wouldn't mind if they pick Zeke with the 6th overall pick because to me that says the FO thinks he's a generational talent. It might bother me a little if a player like Bosa, Jack, or Ramsey are still on the board. I'm not a big fan of Buckner and I still have to watch more tape on VH3 so at this point I would be fine if Zeke was picked before those guys. Also he like any other player we draft at 6 could end up being a bust so I feel like that argument is irrelevant.

I honestly don't think this would be an April Fools comment. And it actually raises a cogent point--we could trade back 1 spot with the 49ers, since they undoubtedly know several teams will try to jump them for Goff. Similar trade have happened in the past (TRich and Ngata come to mind for me as examples of 1-up trades).

What do you think we could get in that trade?

We should just April fool prank 49ers and tell em we got multiple team calling to jump ahead of them for a QB. If they want theirs, better give up something haha.

HAHAHA. I'm just saying even if we have no intention of trading with those other teams why not try to scare the 49ers out of some picks. Worst case scenario we draft in our spot, best case scenario we move down only one spot and get some extra picks.

I have my bias towards 1st and 2nd rounders needing to play right away, so 3rd (and more to my liking 4th round). I figure the first 3 rounds should be keepers, and 4th rounders being developmental guys. If there is a real possibility he doesn't play again it is kinda hard to even jump on the early 3rd round.

Just have to think a N.E. team would be willing waste an earlier pick on him as they regularly trade current picks for future picks anyway. So I could see N.E. taking the risk in the 2nd round.

Yea I felt like the second round would  be a little early especially with how high we pick this year but I read an article today that he's already squatting over 400 lbs and leg pressing 600 lbs. I don't think the issue is if he'll ever play again it's more about when. I think if we could trade our third and a late round pick to get back into the end of the second and get him or if he falls to our third pick we should draft him. There's just so much potential.

  15. At what point do you think it would be ok to draft Jaylon Smith? Is it too early if he's there with our second pick? I know he's injured but I've seen it be argue that he would be the top defender in the draft if healthy. Where do you think the Ravens would feel comfortable taking him?

Omg, I shed a tear thinking about how happy i would be if we were to land Lawson, Alexander, and Decker or Boyd, plus probably receiving another future pick. That is an immediate injection of talented players that could contribute, especially Lawson. But as other have stated, if Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack or Bosa are there. i would stay put, unless we receive another second and are positive we still land Hargreaves or Lawson

If any of those players are still there I would call the 49ers and see what they're willing to give up to make sure we don't trade with the Rams or Eagles. You move back one spot and get a 3rd or 4th rounder, the 49ers pick a QB and you still get your player. If they're not willing to trade then just stay put and pick.
