  1. Tavon Austin???  Really???   What the heck, Guys, I hate to say it, but they were high round draft picks for a reason.  Not because they were Rams.  Sheesh.  And if I remember correctly there were a boat ton of people SCREAMING for us to draft Tavon Austin.  And, even when we knew he wouldn't be around at #26.

Yeah Tavon Austin.. A 1st Rd draft pick and he's doesn't even start, he's the 4th WR on the depth chart. Just because you're drafted in the 1st rd doesn't mean you're the upper echelon. He's more of a kickoff and punt returner if anything.

  2. Jernigan played inferior teams which is why he played so well, Brown, Dolphins, Texans and Jags. This summer Jernigan said out of his own mouth he wanted sacks, that right there let me know he was more about himself than the team. And I called him out on it and got crucified for it. If you're suppose to be replacing Ngata sacks are not your job, keeping lineman off the linebackers and taking up space is your job. Until Jernigan gets that through his head he will never get any playing time and doesn't deserve any playing time until he knows his role

  3. Did you miss Wes Welker there and Edelman who isn't amazing but has great hands and speed and the best offensive player in the NFL in Gronk. The reason that the Patriots sometimes do so well with little is because of their scheme. Short passes means less chances of it being picked off. They rely on YAC and they have the speed to do it. If you stop the short routes Brady cannot throw the ball deep to save his life. Like I said before Flacco has no help whatsoever. Bengals have Green and Eifert, with one of the best running back duos behind Dalton. Steelers have the best running back in the league right now (in my opinion) and Antonio Brown who is a top 5 talent. Browns HAD Gordon but he is stupid so.... Flacco has a 36 year old wide out as his number 1. I love Steve Smith and I think he is underrated and he is a hall of famer and went to school 10 miles away from me right now, but when he is our only threat on the offensive side of the ball it is not good. Forsett was a back up on every team he was on before and he has played alright between this season and last but he needs to step it up going forward. If Flacco had a legitimate target in his career I think the Ravens would not be close to losing every single game. People can argue Boldin but look what he has done since he left and he only averaged 800 yards a season here. Mason was on the tail end of his career when Flacco got drafted. Flacco will not be a hall of fame quarterback because of his lack of weapons, not because of him being inconsistent. Just think if Flacco and Ryan got switched in the draft. What do you think Flacco would have done with Julio Jones, Roddy White, and Tony Gonzalez his first couple years.

I get sick and tired of people comparing Flacco's WR's and RB to other QB's WR and RB's. Gronkowski 2nd Rd, Brown 6th, Bell 2nd Rd and Edelman 7th Rd. These same guys could've been drafted by the Ravens. At some point you have to give the QB credit for making these guys and the QB failures for the offensive woes. Brady is playing with 3 rookie lineman and it's as if he never missed a beat, Antonio Brown is a perfect example, without Ben Roethlisberger he wasn't as effective. Flacco is being paid to be a top 5 QB so there is no reason for the offensive woes they're having. He has more turnovers than he has touchdowns. He's getting away with highway robbery if you ask me.

  4. Rob Gronk, Levon Bell and Antonio Brown were drafted to their teams in the later rounds. So she can't put them in the same category as someone coming to a team or moving to a team or being drafted in the first rd. They're weapons because they were made weapons by the QB, That Thursday night game was a prime example with Antonio Brown. The Steelers offense is a lot different now that Vick is out there instead of Ben.So for Hensley or anybody else to repeat what he said or wrote is just foolish. Ravens had the chance to move up in the draft to get Dez Bryant but they didn't because they were to cheap and trade out of the first rd, they had the chance to draft the Gronk, Bell and Brown but they didn't. So stop comparing Flacco's weapons to other QB weapons when the Ravens had the same opportunity to draft these same guys.

  5. Where do i buy my Givens jersey before they sell out!!!?….pffffff We need a real receiver, trade for Anquan back or Roddy White, Givens=Scrub

I agree. If he couldn't beat out a receiver on the Rams that says a lot about him, especially when they don't even have a receivers that could start on 90% of the teams in the league. The Ravens are grasping for straws and they're being cheap. I thought they learned their lesson when they brought in Lee Evans. Givens is no different than these WR we have now with the exception of Steve Smith.

  6. Regardless of the fact that Vick is a backup, he threw a perfect pass that Brown dropped in the endzone. Brown contributed to his own streak being stopped with that drop.

Just like Vick contributed to it with 3 other passes including the overthrown ball on the 4th and 1. If Big Ben was playing Antonio Brown would've put up AJ Green numbers. Did you see how many times he was opened that game? Stoping the streak was like beating the Patriots by a field goal without Tom Brady.

  7. Didn't know anywhere else to mention this, but seeing Ben on the sidelines coaching up and cheering his guys on after having his knee shredded a week ago made me think, where the heck is Suggs?

When Ray tore his triceps he was still on the sidelines for the team. I distinctly remember him getting amped in San Diego after the "hey diddle diddle ray rice up the middle" 4th and 29 game and Tucker's game winner.

    #wheresthe"leader?"

You must have never played sports before. Ben and Ray could walk around, with a torn achilles you can barely stand or walk and you're basically bedridden because of the swelling. He can't even rehab until 6 months after surgery, and at his age and the mileage he has on his body it might be longer than that.

  8. Nice clip of Timmy ... and I hate to nit pick, but at some point, the RB needs to be his concern. The focus is on the ball. The goal to this is not just manhandling the guy in front of you, but preventing him from keeping you away from the ball.

Wonderful that he got his good PFF grade, but we need to see him get some QB pressure as well and I've not seen it. I realize we're throwing a lot on his young shoulders, but with only one edge rusher on the team, pressure on the QB up the middle is his job.

C'mon Timmy ... show everyone that you were indeed a 1st round talent that we got a steal on in round 2.

Exactly.. Timmy just got played for a fool on that play. There was a reason why the center let him push him that far, that's to take him out the play. For some reason or the other he doesn't get what his job is. His job is to actually stop the running back from penetrating the line and make him bounce to the outside. He needs to stop worrying about getting sacks and worry about taking up space and getting his hands in the air blocking passing lanes.

  9. I disagree and here is why... On both sides of the ball there are plenty of veterans. Offense there is Flacco, S. Smith, Yanda, and Forsett. Defense there is Daryl Smith, Jimmy Smith, CJ Mosley, Courtney Upshaw, Dumervil. This leadership topic the Ravens have been talked about is totally false. Since the Super Bowl that is all they can talk about when we have leaders. We have veterans. Our defense has no confidence and our offense is having to carry the team with no run game. People need to step up we have more talent this year than last year. Losing Suggs sucks but you cannot say there is no play makers when the Ravens have more on their team than most teams. Also I am annoyed of hearing the Ravens need a speed guy at receiver. A lot of teams do not have speed and they still are fine and not talked about speed being an issue. Whoever comes up with these arguments makes me scratch my head. The corners cannot be playing 1 on 1 against pro bowl receivers. The Ravens need more hybrid zones to get these cornerbacks feeling comfortable. I really don't understand why pro bowl caliber corners like Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb are completely gone this season. I swear when Teryl Austin left he took our secondary with him. Wish we promoted him he is a talented coach and we let him go.

If there were leaders on the defensive side of the ball then the Ravens wouldn't be in this situation. A leader not only leads the team but he gets everybody in the right spot and hold everybody accountable to do their job. Like Steve Smith said yesterday in his outburst in the locker room per report, "You've got guys in this locker room that's just glad to be on the team". And that's saying a lot.

  10. Trading Ngata was a mistake because Timmy Jernigan is not that type of player. This offseason he let everyone know what he was really about and that's getting sacks. When you have a player more concerned about padding stats instead of doing his job you're going to have a problem at that position. His job is what everybody else's job was that played that position, plug holes to free up your linebackers. That bone headed penalty near the end of the game was frustration of not getting to the QB, and that possibly cost them the game. Ngata would have never did anything like that. That kind of selfishness play will be the downfall of the Ravens defense. Jernigan needs to know his role and it's not going after the QB on every play.

  11. Ladarius Webb sucks,Timmy Jernigan was a product of who was around him, hell the whole defense is a product of who was around them, from the front 7 to the back end with the exception of CJ Mosley he can actually play. The foundation of this team is gone, sooner or later when you push the envelope to far it hits the floor. The Ravens push the envelope a little too far this time, letting players go and not resigning players and it's come back to haunt them.

  12. Eugene Monroe is getting away with robbery right now. He is the reason the NFL doesn't give fully guaranteed contracts. I feel since he got paid he really doesn't want to play. And Marc Trestman might be one of the worse offensive coordinators I've ever seen which is why I guess he can't keep a job, if you're going to tell Flacco to throw the ball with that kind of pass rush from the broncos, it should've been quick throws. 4 and 5 steps drops were just idiotic especially with the WR the Ravens have. Steve Smith is a great Receiver but his best years are behind him, 16 games is a long season for him. If another WR doesn't step up it's going to be a long season period for Flacco.

  13. I understand the point you are trying to make, but you are attempting to compare players that don't exactly match up...  Siragusa and Adams were both pure run-stuffing DTs with the girth to be a solid NT in a 3-4 as well, but they were with us during a time when we used a lot more 4-3 fronts and the league was more run oriented. Which meant those 2 played side by side LDT & RDT to clog the middle and free up Ray Lewis as you stated.  When we drafted he Ngata he slid into a similar role early on but Ngata had rare athleticism to go with his enormous size, which led to the team moving him across the line. Kelly Gregg was a run-stuffing big-bodied guy similar to Adams and Goose but much more active in terms of tackles.

Jernigan is a more of a penetrating DT, that can play the 5 technique, but would probably be best playing inside abusing guards.. A ravens comparison for Jernigan would be more in line with Trevor Pryce, Rob Burnett, or Cory Redding, guys that were versatile enough to play outside, be strong against the run, but also rush the passer from the outside as well as sliding inside in Nickel situations...    If Jernigan can give us anything similar to those three then the team will be in great shape.

The difference is Cory Redding and Trevor Price were taller and bigger guys and Rob Burnett was really just a situational player for the ravens because of his size, he was tall but didn't have the weight on him, Which is why all 5 technique defensive ends need to be and are usually around or over 300 lbs. Brandon Williams is a prime example. He's not that tall but he has his weight to throw around. Suggs and Dumervil's job is to go after the QB. Jernigan is a good player but I need to see more from him because the 4 games with Ngata were against Miami, Jacksonville, Houston and Cleveland. Miami is the only team not under .500, That's hardly what he'll be facing this year. We play the NFC West this year and the Steelers and Bengals twice. Can he hold up to the pounding he'll take this year?

  14. With his position he shouldn't be worried about how many sacks he gets, his job is to stop the run and free up linebackers, which is why Ray Lewis lasted so long in the NFL because of guys like Sirgusa, Kelly Gregg, Sam Adams and Ngata, these guys were big and strong, Ngata was a freak of nature being he was big, strong and athletic. Hopefully Jernigan understands that, especially dropping weight the way he did. He's a 5 technique defensive end so his only job is to control gaps to keep offensive lineman from getting to the second level. So with him losing weight I hope he's gotten stronger and a lot more physical because if not he's going to have a long season ahead of him especially in the tough and rugged AFC North and make it hard from the linebacking core.

  15. This was a terrible pick. Calvin Pryor was there for the taking and Ozzie passed on him for an alumni. Smh!! What Alabama first rd player in the past couple years translated to the nfl? Mosley is alright but he's not a 1st rd pick, he's to injury prone to play in this division. The draft drought continues.

  16. What is up with you bashing Harbaugh? Nobody is challenging him. The Ravens thought Boldin was not worth the 6 million and that cap helped save the defense last season. Plus it helped get Arthur brown. If you could get Steve Smith for 4-5 million a year or Boldin for 6 million I would take Smith.... Nothing against Boldin but Smith can still also play at a high level and cap is so important you do not know how far 2 million can go to save a player.

Why isn't Bernard Pollard still there who was more productive than both Idhedigbo and Elam. Hell Ed Reed even made more plays then they did when he went to the Jets. Between Smith & Boldin, who had the more productive season? 2 million brought in to bums last year Spears and Huff.
